We hired Dave and his crew to remodel our 35-year-old 1800 sq. ft. Condo. Literally, they made this place look like it was just built. They were professional and knowledgeable. We were living in Franklin, TN, so Dave had to handle all of the little details. When we moved in we felt like we were on TV, I was waiting for someone to say "move that bus". Dave designed the new kitchen lighting, installed the new cabinets, countertops backsplash, all of the plumbing fixtures, and flooring. Removed popcorn ceiling. We also remodeled both bathrooms and closets. added Tiled the patio with cabinets and a granite counter. You will not find anyone that is more focused on detail.

The owner was quick to respond to my request for an estimate. Showed up promptly and took measurements. Sent me a bid for the job the next day. Seemed very professional and responsive. The bid seemed high and I went with another contractor.

Could not be more pleased with the results. Absolutely LOVE the way each item turned out. Exceeded expectations. John and Sam were totally courteous, professional, diligent and so easy to work with. The staircase is a work of art. The little changes that John came up with along the process truly made all the difference between a B result and an A plus result. He is a genuine craftsman.

We are extremely pleased with the job done. The replacement of the pocket door was difficult due to the settling of the building and the warping of the wall. The job needed a skilled professional who had the ability to think "out of the box" and that is what we got! We are pleased with the timely and professional actions of everyone we came into contact with from DUCS. We plan on hiring them to redo our bath.

To whom it may concern: My wife and I looked for a contractor in the Gulfport Florida area to put in a new driveway for us. We were referred to Down Under Construction Services Inc. and had Joe Romano out for an appraisal, which we thought was reasonable. We were short on time (as we do not yet live in Gulfport full time) and Joe said he could accommodate our schedule. We had other workmen on the property when Joe’s crew showed up and they worked around those others with no problem. The demo of the old drive went better than I expected and so did the laying out of the forms for the new drive. We wanted a colored concrete drive and the concrete supplier did not properly mix the colored concrete. This left the job with some light colored stains in concrete. Joe came out and immediately came up with an excellent solution. He suggested putting on Sherman Williams concrete stain and did not charge for it. This is not a paint but is a stain. We acquiesced and after the concrete had dried sufficiently his crew applied the stain. We are more than happy with the results and heartily recommend Joe and Down Under Construction Services Inc.

Fantastic! Couldn't ask for a better outcome. They arrived on-time, did work correctly and, cleaned when finished. The next day the owner of the company called and asked if I was satisfied. Yes Joe, I was completely satisfied. Thank you!

Joe Ramano and DUCs employees started the work on time and completed the work in kitchen on time. However, the bathroom work was delayed by a week as the plumber was not available and there wasn't a substitute available.

Joe and DUCs team is truly accommodating: showcased their professionalism, patience, and experience. They take pride in their workmanship, evidence by the quality they delivered to include clean up and the positive feedback from my wife who grew up in this house. We are grateful as many construction companies never called us back when we requested estimates. As for the budget: Joe is a man of his word, earned my respect, DUCs did not charge us one cent over original budget in spite having to navigate through several complex architectural design and city of St Petersburg permit problems that surfaced. From loaning us his architect to guiding us throughout the project--DUCs is the best! I would highly recommend them to anyone and we plan to use them in the near future.

The price was way too high for me. They were very professional but the price was very high.

They showed up on time, got it done in one day, cleaned up after themselves, called to say they were done. DUCS was great! A little on the high side for price but still well worth it.

Contractor subed out the job to a roofer which is not unsual and generally acceptable. The roofer showed up one day late due to the weather which was understandable. However the roofer had not obtained a permit and about 3 hrs into the job an inspector showed up and shut the job down. It took 2 days to get the right permit and paper work. After obtaining the permit things went fine. They put down a peel and stick adhesive membrane and topped it with 20 yr 3 tab shingles. The adhesive membrane is a secondary water intrusion and insurance preiumns normally reflect that. But the roofer failed to take pictures of the membrane as it was being installed, so the insurance company may not give credit as it can not be verified after the shingles are applied.

When the workman came back and was on the phone with Jerry, Jerry said it was what I agreed to have done for the $250...I obviously didn't agree to pay any amount for work that wouldn't last until the workman left the neighborhood. The side of the conversation I heard sounded rudely directed at me but at that point I just wanted the work done.

I loved this company. They were not the cheapest but the professionalism and workmanship outweighed the price. They also re-textured the walls and ceiling. Kudos to Down Under!

I CALLED THIS COMPANY FOR AN ESTIMATE FOR DRYWALL WORK FOR MY KITCHEN REMODEL. JOE CALLED BACK AND WE SCHEDULED AN APPOINTMENT FOR A FEW DAYS LATER AT 10AM. AT ABOUT 10:30 I CALLED TO SEE WHERE THEY WERE. THEIR OFFICE PERSON TOLD ME THEY WERE RUNNING LATE BUT WOULD BE AT MY PLACE BY NOON. THEY NEVER SHOWED UP OR CALLED. OF COURSE I NEVER CALLED BACK TO RESCHEDULE. IT WAS OBVIOUS THEY WERE NOT INTERESTED IN MY BUSINESS.

I WANTED THEM TO REPAIR DRYWALL AND FIX THE WALL ADDING TEXTURE TO THE WALL. WHEN I DISCUSSED MY PROJECT ON THE PHONE AND THEY TOLD ME WHAT THEY WERE GOING TO DO IT SOUNDED RIGHT; HOWEVER, WHEN THE MAN CAME TO DO THE WORK, HE DID SOMETHING COMPLETELY DIFFERENT. HIS BOSS TOLD HIM WHAT TO DO, WHEN HE FINISHED THE WALL, IT LOOKED HORRIBLE. I TOLD HIM THERE WAS NO WAY THE WALL COULD BE DONE. THIS COMPANY GAVE ME THE HIGHEST QUOTE OUT OF ANY THAT I RECEIVED, THEY BY NO MEANS DID THE WORK THEY SAID THEY WERE GOING TO DO AT THE TIME OF THE ESTIMATE. MY WALL LOOKS HORRIBLE AND I AM GOING TO HAVE TO START OVER. I DON'T TRUST THIS COMPANY TO COMPLETE THE WORK. THEY SPRAYED ALL MY FIXTURES AND THIS MUDDING STUFF IS ALL OVER AND THERE ARE LUMPS OF PAINT BECAUSE HE DID NOT SAND THE WALL BEFORE SPRAYING THE STUFF OVER IT. IF THIS IS THEIR IDEA OF COMPLETING THE WALL, I DON'T WANT TO KNOW WHAT IT MIGHT BE NEXT TIME, IT COULD BECOME WORSE.

THEY DID COME OUT FOR THE ESTIMATE, HOWEVER, THEY NEVER CALLED ME BACK AFTER THAT OR RETURNED MY CALL. NEVER FOLLOWED THROUGH.

THEY DID NOT PULL A PERMIT, THAT CAUSED SOME PROBLEMS DUE TO IT BEING A RENTAL PROPERTY. IT IS GOING TO COST ME SOME ADDITIONAL MONEY DUE TO IT HOLDING UP THE A/C PEOPLE. I AM GETTING THEIR PERMITS FINALIZED.
