CREATIVE PAINTING

It was a nightmare. Thank goodness I had just paid the deposit of $1700.00 (I got reimbursed $300.00 of that). The entire job was bid at $5700.00. I was told by the project manager not to scrutinize the job until it was done, otherwise I could interfere with the process, but I kept seeing things that bothered me like sloppy painting. On the 8th day (the job was supposed to be done in 7 days) I realized that the tile had been laid wrong: the lines were not straight, the pattern was wrong, the grout was very sloppy and incomplete. Also, the baseboards were put on wrong with corners that did not come together and lots of jagged piecing together of boards. The paint job was still sloppy when they said it was completed; they even used the wrong color of paint, left holes that should have been filled, streaks, rough spots, left open cans of paint (with paintbrush down in the can) at the end of the day. Workers came late and left early. One left permanently in the middle of the tile job (he was supposedly the tile specialist) and they said "he had to go to Columbia to paint a boat." The tile and the baseboards now have to be removed so the job can be redone. I fired Creative Painting and am looking for a different painter.

Initial quoting process and scope of services went well. Job was delayed due to company being short on man power. After several phone calls and detailed lists, I finally got the workers back to complete the punch list. Paint spray was left on pavers and patio furniture. It took several visits to have the company clean-up after themselves. Fast forward - I called them back because several areas needed touch-up due to bubbles and chipping. I would consider this normal due to the Florida weather. I began calling them to fix the house in late October. They finally showed up in mid February. They lost my file and asked me three times for the paint colors. In the end, the owner was rude and had the nerve to blame me for him taking four months to fix what his contract guaranteed. The touch-up work is not acceptable - but at this point I will just do it myself. I do not have enough hours in a day to hunt this company down to meet the obligation of their contract.

THEY WERE ONLY RESPONSIVE TO PHONE CALLS WHEN IT WAS TIME TO PAY AND HAD TO RESCHEDULE JOB SEVERAL TIMES DUE TO WEATHER. I HAD TO CALL TO FIND OUT WHY THEY DIDN'T SHOW UP THAT DAY AND WHEN THEY WERE ESTIMATING TO START THE JOB.

WORKERS WERE GREAT, EVERYTHING WENT SMOOTHLY AND PROFESSIONALLY.
