To be honest, I was very nervous. My wife and I have owned this Indian Rocks Beach rental property for 4 years, and the cost of repairs and maintenance are generally much higher than we expected. Our unit is only 14 years old, so in general, things are functioning well. The triple slider that goes out to the balcony gets lots of use as you can imagine. The rollers and tracks are all still really good. The problem was one of the door frames and the locking mechanism failing causing guests to work the door hard, which created the problem with the frame. I've tried to do some repairs myself, but this is not my area of expertise. My wife found Beacon on the web and the reviews looked pretty promising. I called them on a Monday morning since our unit is empty this week, hoping they could get it scheduled. Liddell in Sales called me back and said he would schedule it for Wednesday morning when I could arrange to be at the unit. He walked me through all the standard services they would have to do, replacing the rollers, and track repairs, and so on. I could tell that they have their standard pitch and chances are, that I'd have to do much more than was probably necessary for the repairs necessary. His estimate was $1000 which scared me, but I was in a bind and need to get the door to close correctly. I arrived Wednesday morning at 8:45 and had a text from them that they were on the way. At 9 AM, right on schedule, three guys arrived and were very professional and polite. They went straight to work looking over the sliders and then we talked about what they found. He said the rollers are all in good shape and the tracks are fine as well. He would be happy to do the full service treatment, but in general the everything is in good shape and they would first focus on the one door frame that and the locking mechanism to see if they could get the real problem solved first. 30 Minutes later, the door was repaired, and the latch and lock is working perfectly. He explained that this would be just the service call and parts for repairs limiting the cost to just over $200. What a relief. They emailed me an invoice, and I called to talk to accounting and got it paid immediately. I will be getting them scheduled to come to our home next. We have 2 sets of sliders there that need the full service and I'm very confident hiring them after this great experience.
