Absolutely great. They fixed a bad compressor so that we would have cool air until the new equipment could be installed. They did not charge for the repair. They came right on time, cleaned up everything inside and outside. A tech came by two days after the installation to be sure everything was done correctly. For the first year, service is available 24 hours a day, 7 days a week at no charge.

They were prompt, and were even able to come earlier than scheduled. They called first to make sure that was satisfactory. My husband felt that the inspection of the unit was very thorough. They were extremely courteous. My husband is a retired plumbing and heating contractor, so he always enjoys talking about the aspects of the job. Many people can't be bothered with this, but this individual explained everything in detail to my husband. We would definitely use them again and would recommend them.

found company on angies list. explained that a/c was not giving cold air. in florida in the summer its unbearable without a/c. when i called the office girl was very friendly. she explained the billing. also told me about the coupon on the angies list web site. it saved me eighty dollors. the repair man was at my door in 20 minuites. what service. he also fixed the problem in 20 minutes. he was honest. explained what may happen in the future. wow its now cool repairs from phone call to finish less then 1 hour. a honest a/c company a honest repair man what a great day

They were excellent. They have a number one can call 24/7. I called them one night when we noticed that our air conditioner was out. He gave me a few things to try that didn't work, so I called him back and he said that he would come the next morning. He showed up right on time, told me what could be done to repair the old system, and how much a new one would cost. So, we decided to go with a new one. They scheduled the installation for about 3 or 4 days later. They came on time, took out the old one, and put the new one in. Everything was done well.

Estimator was prompt and professional. Installers (two) were prompt and professional. All work was performed same day and areas cleaned. Final insp. on 07 Jul 09 and wood trim around AH access was repaired OK. Final insp by Code insp. OK.

I received estimates for this job from 5 different air conditioning companies. This was not the lowest estimate, nor the highest, but the most honest and professional of them all. This is the best AC company with which I have ever dealt. Living in Florida for 25 years, replacing personal and investment property equipment, I've seen it all! This company stands behind everything they promise. Their sales person gave me the facts, did not push me to purchase, but thoroughly explained costs. There was no "bait and switch" in their ads, promising a rebate from the power company, etc. The rebates only applied to those who purchased heat pumps, and who needs that in Florida??? In my present home I had a problem with both humidity and balancing cooling in my split plan. One side of the house receives full sun in the morning and the other side of the house has a solid wall. Even tinted, low E, argon gas, insulated windows on the sun side of the house did not solve the problem. The sales person used a computer program to figure out the heated square footage and the needs of my home. He discussed the options and what would help solve the problem as well as give relief in the power bill. The difference between the top of the line (2 compressor unit one a 2 ton and one a 4 ton) and the step-down, with rebates was miniscule. The past two AC units placed the airhandler in the attic, which eventually rusted through. For a minor cost, and I mean, minor, they air handler was placed in the garage, easily accessible for service. They removed my 10 year old AC unit and installed the new unit. They came on the day and time promised and finished the work in the span of one day. They actually warranted my duct work which they did not install as part of my package. Two weeks later they returned to make damper adjustments. John Mulder, the owner talked with me before the installation personally to go over all the details. Vicki, the office manager, communicated regularly during the job with the installers and me as well. The unit was the right choice for our needs. Even with Progress Energy's rate increase, my power bill is the same or less than last year during this hot season. Any questions have been answered if not within the hour, always within the day of any follow-up call I made. There was a manufacturer rebate for the unit which they filed for me. When the rebate check arrived, the manufacturer made a mistake and it was $100 less than promised. After Vicki at Bay Area brought the mistake to the manufacturer's attention, they mailed a check to Bay Area Heating and Cooling. Bay Area Heating and Cooling did not make me wait for the $100 but delivered a check to me that day!

Overall, the A/C was repaired and is working well. I just find it a bit disconcerting to be charged $80.00 for a $40.00 part that was, after all, under warranty. Don't know if this is a standard deal with Trane or just this A/C company but, regardless, warrantied parts are warrantied parts and there should be no charge for them.

I am very satisfied with their services. They have even offered to repair the air handler that had been installed by someone else, and they are not charging me anything for that. The coordinator at Bay Area is a huge part of what make the company successful. She bends over backward to accommodate clients. I give them the highest ratings on all counts.

It went very well overall. The owner, John Mulder, came and did an exact evaluation of the needs for my house from the ACCA Manual J (as required in consumer friendly websites). He asked what we would like improve. It was too hot in the master suite, and so he added extra airducts to the master suite. He was respectful and pleasant to work with. His two man work crew began on time and worked hard. The site was left well-cleaned. After inspection revealed a need for a 4o amp unit instead of the 35 amp unit that was in my junction box, they installed a 50 amp unit. Installed 5 kw heater unit.

Terrific experience! Ken showed up to perform routine maintenance of my A/C unit. I also suspected that the unit was undersized for my new home. I was right, I learned alot and Ken was super friendly and professional. Upon completion of my "tune-up" he explained various options that I could pursue to adequately cool my master bedroom, which was an addition to the house. Today, Ken called me - offering to drop off more information on one of the lower cost options we discussed. Excellent customer service. Once I make a decision, I will gladly have Bay Area give me a final estimate for the work. Great job. Thanks to Ken.

Called three companies on Angie's List for an estimate on a heat pump condenser. One of the companies was Bay Area Heating and Cooling. John, the owner, came out to our house and provided a written estimate to my husband, which was the lowest estimate of the three. Unfortunately, I was not able to meet John in person because he had called to reschedule his appointment due to bad weather. Consequently, we had to set up the appointment for the next day. I ended up chosing another company, closer to where we live, because they were able to beat Bay Area's price. Although I did not hire Bay Area to do the work, I would certainly not hesitate to call on them again and was satisified with my dealings with them. They were polite and professional and gave the lowest price.

The experience was excellent. They were very kind and cooperative. They cleaned up after they were done. It was easy to make an appointment and they were here just when they said they would be. They made us feel very comfortable. We had quotes from other companies for a lot higher.

They were very good, courteous and gave us the exact price that it would cost. They had it done in one day's time in 90 degrees. I have nothing bad to say about them. Someone in our neighborhood had done pretty much the same work from a different company and their cost was a little bit more.

Vince came over the day after I called in and spent about an hour checking the entire HVAC system. The parts had to be special ordered and he was back a couple of days later to install them. I called a couple of weeks later when the heat wasn't blowing real hot and Vince came back that same day. He spent the better part of an hour checking everything out. There was nothing wrong with the system, he said that it was just so cold that the heat pump couldn't keep up but that the heat strip was kicking in and that all the components from the condenser to the air handler were working perfectly. He said that heat pumps (common in Florida) just don't operate very well when it gets down into the 30s and below. There was no charge for that visit.

They were very informative. The people on the phone for the appointments were quite friendly. We actually got a partial discount with a coupon from the Angie's List magazine. The price was quite reasonable considering they came the same day. We'll probably call them back to have our regular inspections done.

They are very punctual, polite and honest. He went out of his way for me. I called on a Friday and they came out that same afternoon. He was willing to take some pictures for me of my attic so I could see that another company had kinda taken me to the cleaners with a project I had done.

Quick response, called with quote and what was needed, took my credit card number, repaired problem, is sending me an invoice with a suggested maintenance plan.

We were out of town when our neighbors discovered that our air conditioning wasn't cooling our place. When they called us, our first thought was, "Who do we call?". "Who can we trust to handle this when we are far away?" We found Bay Area and liked that it was the highest rated on Angie's list for our area. Our neighbors agreed to be our contact people and they reported that the work was of the highest quality. The service man arrived that day at the preset time. He explained everything and what was needed. He also left everything clean and neat. He called us right away to explain the situation. We talked by phone with Vicky in the office a number of times and she was helpful and available every time we called. While it was difficult to hear that we needed a new system, we knew that we were getting top quality products and work. The very next day, the new unit was installed. Our neighbors again reported that the work was timely, and everything was very neat and clean. We were so happy that we could trust in quality work while we were away!

They were very, very good. We were definitely pleased. We worked with Bob Glenn. He really solved issues and he was the most informative and everything he was saying made the most sense of all the companies we had talked to. Our biggest issue was everyone wanted to put the compressor in the back of the house and I wanted it on the shed roof. Bay Area was the only place that said they could work with the city and put it on the roof. They weren't the highest price and they weren't the lowest. It was a fair price. He wasn't a typical salesmen so he quoted the price a little low, but they stuck behind the price. Everything was done exactly how they said it was going to be done.

I called Bay Area at noon and their technician (Shawn) was out here by 2pm. They had a cancellation and were able to fit me in. Shawn was courteous and professional. He explained the problem and showed me the frozen coils. He checked the system, added the necessary amount of refrigerant and had me up and running in just over an hour. We will certainly use Bay Area Heating and Cooling again and plan on signing up for their Preventative Maintenance Agreement (PMA)in the future.

The customer service was very bad. This company advertised a free system diagnosis, and decided not to live up to it's work. They gave me the run around for over a week, and failed to help fix my problem.

They are excellent, they have good service, they are prompt, and attentive. They are thorough. For a service call on an emergency basis his prices were very reasonable.

This company is AWESOME! I first called them because they had such good reviews on Angie's List. Vickey was so helpful. My husband and I just bought our house less than a year ago and the AC was replaced by the previous owners right before we moved in. Vickey had me call the company that installed it because it may have still been under a labor warranty and that was would save us money. I looked up the other company and they had an F rating on Angie's List-I should have known. I called Vickey back and canceled our appointment for 2:00 because the other company said they would be here between 3:00-5:00. By 5:00 I had not heard from the other company and my house was up to 86 degrees. They said they would be out before 6:00 but they never showed. I called Bay Area back and they had Sean (they're on-call person) call me back. Sean called within 5 minutes. He walked me through the after hour pricing and asked me if I thought we could make it through the night because we would save a lot of money if we could wait until the morning. He was so helpful. This is twice now the company was concerned about saving me money and I wasn't even their customer yet! We made it through the night and then I called Vickey back to get someone out ASAP. I signed up for the annual maintenance contract because I knew my AC would be serviced by very capable people on a regular basis. We were originally scheduled to have someone come out between 4:00-5:00. However, Vickey called me back within 30 minutes and said another job was put on hold and her guys would be over within 2 hours. I cannot convey how nice and customer service-oriented this company is. The two guys that came out and fixed the unit were very friendly and professional. I would recommend Bay Area Heating and Cooling a million times over!
