Good, it was a routine check-up and I appreciated that the technician gave pragmatic advice and didn't push a sale.

It went well overall, except we had some miss-communication which was promptly resolved. The tech found my AC unit needed extra work, so I decided not to use the maintenance deal at the time as it would be a waste of money. They understood perfectly and refunded my money.

The experience overall was very good. The technician inspected the A/C system and found it in good order. He showed us the amps that we could save on our current system with a new startup capacitor. System is running great and more energy efficient.

Company was punctual and professional. Provided an annual service and "tuned up" the system. From my experience the annual maintenance will significantly extend the life of an HVAC system.

The workman came on time. They worked all day in a hot, sticky attic. There was an issue with the size of the unit being placed, but the crew knew exactly what they had to do and did it. The foreman came and checked on the service men to make sure they had what they needed. They job took longer than they expected. They work very late but did not leave me until the unit was working and my house was cool. I would recomend them to anyone. They did a great job and the price was the same as the others quotes I had received.

I spoke with them on the phone; they were professional and very nice people.

We felt that $445 was too high for the services rendered and the time it took to complete the job. So, we called the company to discuss the charges. Bay Area agreed that we had been overcharged and said we should have been charged $192 and that they would refund us the difference with either a credit card refund or a check. It took two phone calls and two weeks to get a partial refund. When I went to the business office to resolve the difference, the agent said "...oh, for heaven's sake", pulled out his wallet and flung $60 towards me saying "...there are other air conditioning companies in the area". I agreed, took the money and left.

It took them a little while to get there. It went pretty good. It was the first time I had used them.

Felt the technician was pushing for us to have our a/c unit replaced with a new one rather than just adding the freon we needed. He kept suggesting we call the main office and have a someone come out to give us a price on a new unit.

My previous commentary says it all.I ended up purchasing a sevice agreement---cannot say enough about the service technician's professionalism and knowledge---in addition to his atttention to COMPLETING a job!i will definitely be using this company for the long haul.

We scheduled our first appt. and they called to say that they had to reschedule. They did this in a timely fashion. At the second appt., the service rep. was very professional , did his job well, and made a minor replacement of an Air Cond. part. He was on time and worked quickly. He answered all of my questions. I would use them again.

.The technician, John T, arrived on time, was very professional, and very friendly and responsive to all my questions. He explained every thing he was doing and made several suggestions for the future consideration. Before he left, I went through every function of the unit with him and it worked perfectly..

I was having trouble with my old a/c system and after consulting Angies List I called Bay Area Heating and Cooling. Larry spent a lot of time trying to repair the system, but after two attempts I realized it was better to replace the system than keep trying to repair it. On 08/20/12 a representative from Bay Area gave me quotes on different configurations that would meet my needs. I chose one and two days later it was installed. Bay Area even gave me a credit for some of the work performed on the old system. I now have a maintenance contract with Bay Area and highly recommend the company.

They are excellent and outstanding. They called ahead of time to schedule their visit. They called the day before and then the tech called a half hour before he arrived. He also wore covers on his shoes.

Larry arrived early. Did a great job. I really like this company and the people that represent it.

Had some problems scheduling due to the weather, but it all worked out. Came back and did a deep cleaning of my units to help them last longer.

Just used these folks yesterday. Dave showed up on time, was extremely professional and very honest. I would gladly use them in the future.

I have used them for about 5 years now. They come out twice a year and do a great job.

Normally the story would end after the initial visit, but less than one month after they were here I noticed my AC wasn't working and it was extremely hot. I wasn't sure what to do but I called Bay Area Heating and Cooling and they responded almost immediately. Not one truck, but two. Turned out to be a small fuse (like the one you put in your car) that had blown. They replaced the fuse and checked out the entire system. NO CHARGE!! How do you like that? A company that responds quickly, fixes the problem, and then doesn't charge you. Concerned about using them? Try an Angie's list special and I'm sure you will be more than satisfied.

It was great. They stood behind their work. They had to come out a second time and they did not charge me.

When I discovered from a repairman from a different company that we needed to replace our entire a/c unit I called Bay Area back and explained that I now needed a quote for a new unit instead of a repair. I informed her that I was in the process of getting one quote from another company. I immediately got a lecture about making sure I use a qualified technician and felt that she was being pushy. That day a salesperson from Bay Area came out to give me a quote. He answered all my questions and was very thorough with his evaluation of what we needed. He gave me 3 quotes for a Trane unit. My husband had already done some research on different brands and we wanted quotes on some of them as well. When I asked the salesman what he would say if I asked him to give me a quote for a Goodman (which they sell according to their website), he said he would tell me to go to another company!! So that is exactly what I did. After a lot of research, we promptly had another highly trained and qualified company put in a Goodman (they could have put in a Trane as well). When the salesman called me later to ask if I was interested in having a Trane installed, I told him we were getting a Goodman from someone else, he told me to call Bay Area when it needs to be repaired as he knew it would. His behavior was totally unprofessional and certainly convinced me to never recommend this company. My best description of this company is PUSHY!

After much research, we decided to go with Bay Area Heating and Cooling. We had Bayside Heating and Air but after some dealing with them that left us feeling like they were being less than honest, we went with Bay Area. Our sales rep, Shaun, came out prepared to sell. He brought a Consumer Reports article showing that Trane had one of the lowest repair rates. They came out to install the unit, and were almost finished, when they discovered that one of the parts on the new unit did not work. Even though this was about 5:30 in the afternoon, they did not leave us hanging. The owner of the company personally went out to find a replacement part to make sure we were up and running. They stayed until the job was done (about 7:30 p.m.), which impressed me because they could have very well taken off and come back another day. We had a subsequent issue, however, Chris was quick to resolve it for us. He said he would look into it and call me back. He was true to his word. The owners and managers of this company make sure to take care of their customers. Their customer service is excellent. In addition to that, they have an A+ rating with the BBB. They are members of the Air Conditioning Contractors of America and North American Technician Excellence. My research said to be sure to find contractors who were members of these organizations because it assured you that you were getting a good contractor. Overall, a very good experience. While they are not the cheapest option, they are not the most expensive either. Their company and contractors do quality work which is important for an investment of this size. Will use again.

Arrived in a timely manner. My unit is 27 years old and he recommended I replace a couple of parts, but admitted he couldn't guarantee my AC would last any longer by do the replacements. I opted not to replace anything as I know I will need a whole new unit sooner rather than later. He quote me prices for replacement of the unit, but was not a high pressure salesman.
