Called and talked with Vicki. Great experience, they sent Sean. Four days later two workmen came to do work. Very professional. Installed unit, measured for extras. One week later I talked to Chris who called back promptly with info on finalization. Vince came. Great job all around from everyone.

The technician was great, arrived on time and finished work in an efficient manor. The before and after pictures he showed me were amazing. I will be signing up for their yearly maintenance program.

My daughter seemed to have problems with her A/C on a yearly basis - and naturally during the hottest months. We decided that this year we would have it serviced during the off-season. Having had such outstanding results using Angie's List, I once again turned to it and found a "Special Deal" for only $49 for a Seasonal Heating and A/C Tune Up. I purchased it on 3/29 and called Bay Area Heating & Cooling, expecting a wait of at least 10 to 14 days and was pleasantly surprised when Jennifer gave me a date of April 3, between 2 and 4. Yesterday morning I had a call from Vicky, the scheduler, who asked if they could come between 12 and 1 and I gladly agreed since this was better for me. At exactly 1 o'clock, Mark arrived. I immediately took him to the air handler upstairs and asked about the overflow drain where I had previously had conflicting instructions from other companies and where we had had severe problems in the past. Mark was able to explain to me how things worked up there and agreed to install an opening in the PVC pipe so that I could flush the drain on a monthly basis after he explained to me that the cost would be an additional $67.40. He then proceeded with the actual tune up. I was simply amazed! He not only seemed to really know what he was doing, but also put up with my constant questions "what is this" and "what does that mean", etc. etc. When he got to the outside unit he was rather shocked that we had mulch around it and explained (while removing it) that not only do we need to keep this area draining, but also recommended that we have the unit placed on a concrete slab which would cost 435 dollars but would extend the life of the unit. Also he recommended to replace (add?) a hard start unit since the starting values should be no more than 3 times the running values and ours was about 6 times the value. ........... You can see he was thorough!! He showed me the readings on his instruments! But he also understood that we were not able to do these things at this time. He recommended but did not badger us. When he left - almost 2 1/2 hrs later ............... I felt that we not only got our money's worth, but much more. I almost felt guilty. I will try to make it up to the company by calling them back whenever I want/need their service. Last, but not least, the ladies at the office were most pleasant to deal with, and Mark is a jewel!

They were wonderful. They were very easy to work with. The girl that runs the office is fantastic. They work their butts off! I have used them on multiple occasions and have never had a complaint. they respond quickly, are always prompt, work efficiently, and at a minimal cost. I would highly recommend them!

Really good and honest, he carefully cleaned the air handler and saved me $49 when he found the air condenser needed no service, even after I purchased the deal. Appreciate the honesty!

It had been a couple of years since the air ducts in my attic had been checked for leaks, he said he would look at this "if he had time." He was here no less than two hours and at no time did my husband or I ever see indication that he opened either the air handler or the outside unit. He was trying to sell us one thing after the other when I made it clear from the get go that I wanted someone sent to me that was not going to try to sell me something. I did call the office the first day, and tried to speak with Vicky and she never got back with me. I finally talked to her yesterday and she was very rude, I shouldn't be the one getting short changed. This is the first time I've had a problem with this company. Jon Mulder called me on March 25, 2013 and made an appointment to see me in May to get this negative review removed and was very rude. After consulting, I am not going to see him because when I purchased the unit from Jon, he gave me his phone number and said I could call him at any time. In over 2 years, he is unavailable and his workers gave the impression that he sold the business. There is something that is not right with this business.

We recently bought a house in Tampa, FL. The home was inspected and the A/C worked. However, we have had some cold weather recently and when using the heat, we discovered there was clearly something wrong. Our huse is two levels and we could not get the lower floor above 67 degrees but the upper floor was in the mid 90's. We checked Angie's list and found Bay Area heating. They cane out the day we called and found a problem with one of the dampers. We had it replaced the following day. The weather warmed back up so we didn't really know if everything was working for several days/weeks. When it cooled down again, we found the drastic temperature was better but still not great. Shaun, the salesman came out to assess the situation. He determined that the system put in the house originally (1999) was really not working properly and wasn't really worth it to fix although they would if that's what we wanted to do. He gave us a quote for a total replacement with all top of the line Trane equipment. I have a nephew in the A/C business in another state and ran the quote by him to make sure it was a fair price. After weighing the cost and the desire to do it right, we decided to move forward and get everything done and over with. The installation was scheduled for one full day with four experienced guys. The air handler looked to have been dropped before it was unwrapped. The team had to get another unit and did later that day. This put a kink in the schedule which was pushed to a second day. Fortunately, the weather was perfect for an open window night so we probably wouldn't have used the A/C anyway. Day 2, the system was up and running. We asked for the zone control panel to be moved to a different spot. We made an appointment and they showed up on time. They ran into a few snags and it took a little longer than than they wanted but we were in no hurry. We were much more concerned with quality than speed. End of the day, it was done correctly. The A/C cooling was working great. The unit is nearly silent and very efficient. A week or so later, we had to run the heat again and ran into the same higher temps upstairs but to a much lesser degree. We called and got an appointment for them to check it out again. This time, John, the owner, and Vince came out. John explained that every house is different and with a four zone system, they will need to tweak the system to make sure each zone is getting the correct percentage it needs to achieve the results we're looking for. This made complete sense to me. John was very professional and listened to what I was saying rather than just telling me how it works. I appreciated that! I would recommend Bay Area Heating and I would use them again (although I hope I'm done for a while)

It's been nearly a year now since the tune up was done and all is well. The technician arrived on time and was professional.

It worked out okay. It wasn't that major an effort. They did what they said they were going to do. They were a little late.

They came on time always. Clearly showed and explained what needed to be done and the inspection went off without a hitch...the inspector congratulated them as a well done job.

Very professional company. Customer service from Vicki was a breath of fresh air. She scheduled Larry to come out the same day and he was on time and very thorough. Cleaned my A/C from top to bottom and installed the Air Oasis UV filtration device. He was quite knowledgeable and answered my questions in an informative manner. He also double checked to make sure everything was in proper working order before he left. Possibly the best A/C service I've ever received.

Once they finally got out to my home to do it, it was fine but they cancelled on me two or three times when I had appointments scheduled with them. I think they were having staffing issues.

Everything went as expected. He made a repair that the previous company had missed on the unit.

We had preventative maintenance performed on our 2 HVAC units and some parts replaced on the units. Larry did a fabulous job explaining everything and taking the time to show me how the system worked. I really appreciated his explanations and the time he spent to make sure I understood everything. Larry was very professional, positive and seemed to really enjoy his job. We will be happy to use Bay area heating and cooling for all of our HVAC needs.
