Before we purchased a foreclosed home, we gathered several A/C quotes so we would have all the numbers in front of us. We called Bay Area and told them we weren't sure if it would be a whole-house new install (which it was) or a repair. We told them the system was 21 years old (which should have been enough to assume replacement). However, the operator we spoke with said they would not come out to the home unless we paid for a service call. Um what? Why would I pay a service call fee in order to get a quote on a new system? We had several other companies come out instead (Lloyd's and J. Caroll were among the most competitive by the way), and NONE of the other companies tried to charge for a quote. I understand the A/C business is competitive in Florida, but this is no way to work with customers.

This is the 4th year that Bay Area Heating and A/C has come to our house. I was very happy when I noticed that they had another of their 49 dollar deals, and was even happier when I found out that Jerry was still working there and that it was possible for him to come to our house because I just find him very trustworthy. He was scheduled to come between 1 and 5 and arrived a little after 2 and immediately went to work. One of the things I really appreciate is the fact that I can keep asking questions about what he is doing and why he is doing that and he just patiently explains. He found everything in best working conditions and I hope he will still be available next year.

It went very well. Our technician was initially concerned the intake was too small for the unit based on how hard the AC was pulling, but he was able to quickly figure out that the filter was simply shot. The options provided were reasonable. This was our first service visit with Bay Area Heating & Cooling; we'll be using them again in the future. The only reason for the visit was the fact this is a new home purchase for us, and I wanted to make sure the AC was on the up & up.

Fraziers Air Conditioning made the repairs for $350.

He was polite, professional, and I would use them again.

He found the leaks and gave me two alternatives. Fix the leaks and replace the system. I asked for his suggestions and I further investigated on google. His recommendation was replacement and that is what I did

Not sure if cost of everything was reasonable because I did not get a 2nd opinion or price comparison. Included in the money I spent was labor, parts, refrigerant and I purchased a preventative maintenance check plan that is done twice a year for my two separate home a/c units. The repair men were very friendly and professional.

It went well. I would recommend them to anyone.

Mike was right on time, very professional, very thorough and very informative. He quickly found the problem explained exactly what he was doing and had all the tools and parts on hand to stop my suffering during this hot spring. Mike even did some adjustments to help my system run better free of charge. No longer worried about who I'm going to call with any further problems with my AC system.

They regularly forget the correct tools that they need to do the maintenance. They never bring a new air filter. They keep telling me that I need a new unit but mine works fine. It has frustrated me and I let them know that if I did require a new unit I would not purchase it from them because of their behavior. I sent this message directly to the owner and said that he should contact me if they wanted to continue to do business with me and I have heard nothing. I do not recommend them.

Pro's Arrived on time I had used the service two months before, the problem was thermostat related, corrected and the price was reasonable, so when I had another problem I called the company again. The problem was a faulty safety switch, which I was charged $226.88. A quick search on the internet showed the price was $15 - $20. Phil also said that the drain line needed a (thorough) cleaning, which I was charged $132.69. I told him that the the last tech had cleaned it two months ago, as I had also just the day before, but he said it was very dirty and needed cleaned again. Phil seemed more interested in selling me a service contract or a new HVAC unit. I will admit that the unit is old, but will continue to use it until it fails. Whenever I do need to purchase a new unit, rest assured it will not be from Bay Area Heating and Cooling.

There was no trouble with scheduling. The job was completed in about half of an hour and he cleaned up fine. It turned out nicely.

The service turned out very well. The cost was around $155 or so with tax; it was pretty close to the $149 Big Deal purchase cost. They were very prompt. When they said they would be here, they were here. We have used them a couple of times now after finding them on Angie’s List. We never had a problem with them. They are well-mannered. They come out. They do the job and do not try to overcharge you.

Very professional. Had all required parts on truck. Fully explained service. Finished it quickly. The unit is 25 years old and still uses Freon. He told me that I need to be prepared to replace it soon. He called the office for me and arranged a Saturday visit from their appraiser to get a quote. My only complaint is about timeliness. They gave me a 2-hour window for the technician's arrival (I had to take off work). The technician arrived a bit late.

They did an inspection and stated the unit was too old. I need a whole new unit. They did give me an estimate to replace it.

Serviceman arrived within the scheduled time slot. Identified the issue and explained what needed to be done. Overall, good experience. Serviceman appeared competent and trustworthy.

The service did not turn out very well. It lasted about a week and then, I had to buy a new air conditioner. I used another company. I went over the $55 Big Deal purchase price because they did some repairs. I do not remember if they came out twice or not, but it cost me $1,500 when it was over. Then, I went and bought a new air conditioner for $4,300 something. I was not too happy with them. I think one of the repairs they did they probably knew that it would cost other problems and which it did and I had to get a new set. I am pretty sure because they wanted to sell me a new set for $5,500 or something and I found somebody else who only sold it to me for $4,000 something. They also worked up in the attic and got water all down. My ceiling was all stain and they did not do anything about it. They just left it. I would never use their services in the future.

They were outstanding! I was informed during the entire process. They were on time for our appointment. A previous provider charged me almost 5 times what I was charged with this provider. The techs were very informative. When we sold our home, I told the new owners to use this provider. They were very professional and a good bunch of people. This provider was very reasonable on the price. I would certainly use them again in a flat second.

Great. Technician made adjustments and repairs beyond the scope of the seasonal tune-up.

Awful. Company performed service call for Heat pump. Found thermostat "bad". Quoted outrageous price of $258.75 to replace. I have had thermostat replaced before and it cost: $69. They tried to seriously gough me. I did not get thermostat replaced. Called another company. Phyllis Johnson

The service was good. We had some complications, but they came and fixed it in every end. They were very cooperative. They were all good with scheduling. They were on time for the appointment. They were professional and courteous. We spent more than the $55 Big Deal because they put in a whole new air conditioning unit for us. We did have some things. They had to come back. There were a couple of problems with it. It did not pass inspection, but they did not charge us when they came and checked it. They got everything fixed and the office manager was wonderful with coordinating everything and getting everything done on time. They did a really good job. My husband shopped around and I am sure the price was good for what we got. My husband really like them.

They are adequate. They are a little pricey, but they do good work. I think that some of their younger employees do not understand professionalism, but it is not necessarily a reflection on Bay Area Heating and Cooling. I think it is just the generation thing where younger people just do not have a lot of respect for elderly people. It is probably more of a function of how they were brought up than a reflection on Bay Area, but I was not very impressed with the technicians. They come in and talk like “Joe man what’s happening” or “my man”, all this crazy kind of a chism sounding talk and I do not really appreciate that kind of talk around me, but I know there is a lot of young people who talk like that. So, what am I going to do? I spoke to the owner because he called me when he saw the evaluation that he got. I explained the situation to him, but he never ever got back to me and let me know what kind of remedial measures they put in place to make sure that their technicians when they go out to people’s homes, they should conduct and act as professionals. I expecting a call like that and I never got one. They are prompt, but they are unprofessional.

Every aspect of the work and service was first rate. They were thorough in their evaluation of what we needed (and, just as importantly, in what we did not need), prompt and reliable in performing the work, and responsive to our questions. Our experience with the company was very positive.
