Jerry C., the maintenance tech, spent a great deal of time inspecting my old unit. He explained his findings & thoroughly answered my questions. Likewise, I was pleased with the installation & the technicians, Dave & Robert. They arrived on time, were courteous, professional & finished the entire installation quite quickly. They cleaned up after themselves. The company has its own inspector for finished jobs. This is a plus & made me feel even more comfortable with the installation. When one of the large boxes that I had wanted the men to leave with me was inadvertently used for trash , Dave, the inspector, brought me a HUGE box....much more than I needed but very welcome! THAT is what I would call "making the customer happy"! When the city inspector came by & learned that Bay Area was the contractor, he signed off on the building permit without hesitation (after inspection, of course). He had nothing but good things to say about this company's work. That speaks volumes about Bay Area Heating & Cooling.

Absolutely great! The AC quit working so I called the company who had installed it in 2015 under the previous homeowner. This was the end of July when we were experiencing record heat. The other company came out 3 times over a 10 day period, would report they had repaired it, and as soon as they left it would stop working again. I then called Bay Area Heating & Cooling since I had used them with excellent results in my previous home. They came out & within an hour had the problem diagnosed & repaired. It was a wonderful relief after the stress & aggravation of the other company's shoddy work. I'll use them exclusively from now on.

It went really well. I like that they sent me the same service man every time. I like the continuity of knowing the service man and him knowing his way around our system.

Excellent. Jason St. Jean was quite knowledgeable and went beyond what was expected. He found issues and fixed them. Our overflow pan drain was found to be clogged and he did a great job fixing it...far better than any other technician we had in the past.

Things have been just fine. They are trustworthy and competitive in price. I will continue to use them.

The AC service person was personable and helpful suggesting updates to my VERY old AC unit. With just a few updates and cleaning, odds are it will last a few more years. I also purchased the semi annual maintenance plan, something I had in my Wisconsin home. The extra service and TLC will help keep my AC running as long as possible.

They replaced a condenser and start kit. A condenser costs, on the high side, 13 bucks. They charged me $219. The start kit costs around $15. They charged $278. Had I not grown up in the HVAC business, I wouldn't have had any idea I was getting so ripped off. The final insult was, my parts were under warranty, and after pointing this out, my messages weren't returned afterward. I'm stunned to see these guys getting a good report card on Angie's List. This kind of mark-up is, in my opinion, the kind of business practice that gives the industry a bad name.

Excellent. The team arrived on time, carried out the work in a timely manner, and they completed the vent installation to a very professional standard.

Set up an appointment of Friday morning for them to come out a service e my unit on Monday afternoon. I call Monday mid day to verify. I get a call at 4;30 pm that they are not coming. WTF?!!!!

They came out and serviced my AC system and that service went well. I then received a call several days later from Bay Area informing me that I actually had two systems and the deal was only for one unit. They wanted to charge me $149 extra to service the second system. They already came out and worked on it and the deal did not have a limit on systems.

Couldn't have gone better! We had the air go out (blowing warm air), and needed a repair that day. We had never used Bay Area before but chose them based on their reviews. Bay Area was able to fit us in same day and was there within an hour! Our technician, Dale, was amazing! He zeroed right in on the problem and explained every detail (and never got sick of my questions!). He was able to get the air blowing cold again right away! Unfortunately it was a temporary fix, the unit is so old the only thing to do is replace it. Dale got us working just long enough for our new unit to be installed this upcoming Tuesday! I'm very happy with the decision I made to go with Bay Area and would recommend them to anyone!

They provided a very good service and were very responsive. I thought I had an offer that had not been used. They informed me that I had already used it but allowed me to purchase another. I appreciated that they provided such good customer service.

We had to have them back a second time because the work they did wasn't correct, now we have ceiling damage. A week later, our A/C isn't cooling. Will not use them again

It went very quick. Although the technician was a little late to the appointment, He got it repaired and working in about 10 minutes.

VERY pleased with all aspects of my experience. Got 3 estimates, had one slightly lower estimate from a company who never revised their quote to show that all required permits were included in the price. Excellent communication from everyone - the estimator, the service techs who installed the system, and the office staff who set up installation + inspection dates. I've had at least 4 other systems replaced over the years, in various homes by different companies in the Tampa Bay Area. For one reason or another I could never confidently recommend any of them - either due to price, or quality of the work, or "switching" issues (where one brand was quoted but a different "related" brand was installed...) OR the eventual realization that there was never an inspection... Leading me to wonder if a permit was ever actually pulled? That's something I insist on in writing now. I have to say this was my BEST experience, by far. Will highly recommend Bay Area Heating and Cooling to anyone I know looking to replace a system.

The tech was on time. Explained what he was going to do and did it. He even had to carry buckets of water down a ladder from the attic. A prior owner had bypassed the safety shut-off when the unit fails to drain properly. He unclogged and disinfected the line, lugged out the water.

They consistently returned to correct the problem until it was completed. They were professional and respectful.

I purchased a new air conditioner unit in August 2015. I called approximately 11 months after installation for a service appointment (my thermostat indicated service due). The service tech arrived 2 hours prior to the estimated window, spent approximately 2 minutes looking at the thermostat and reset the notification. I requested for him to complete the annual service on my air conditioner unit which he declined. He indicated that I was not scheduled for the annual service, would have to call back to reschedule and take another day off from work. I called the home office which indicated that while the tech had the equipment needed to perform the service that he was unable to complete the service due to scheduling (note: he was two hours early and the annual service takes one hour). As the service manager was not available, I asked for a returned call. I received a voicemail message from the service manager and returned the call the next day (and left a voicemail). After a week without a returned call, I called and spoke to the general manager. He had not heard of my poor experience so I provided him with the details. He asked how they could make it right and I requested my service contract be extended and additional year (which was significantly less the cost I will incur by taking off another day of work). He would not make the approval, told me he would talk to the owner and call me the next day. After 10 days with no return call, I called and left another message. As I write this review, I have not heard from him.

We bought two of the tune-up specials and everything went well as expected. The technician was on time, professional and efficient. We are happy with the service

Outstanding! Every member of their service team is a professional, knowledgeable, courteous, and efficient.

This was a $49 big deal purchase. It did not go that well. The repairman came out and he did not recommend that I have a tune up. He immediately gave me estimates for a new system. He did not do the tune up and told me I could get a refund. First of all he gave me a 9-1 time slot and they got here about 1:30. That interfered with my schedule because I had to be somewhere at 2:00. When he got here I was just able to greet him and hear what he said for the first, maybe about 10 minutes. My son was here and he left particulars with my son about an estimate for a new system. Then he called back the next day to check it and I told him I would not be going with a new system right now. He said he would refund the deal since I did not do the tune up but I have not gotten it yet. He seemed like he was focused on me really getting a new system. I felt he should have done the tune up since I had already paid for it, but he did not do it.

Terrific - the tech showed up on the day scheduled and explained what he was going to do with each unit and how long he expected the visit to take. A prior owner had bypassed a safety feature that turned off the AC when the water backs up. The tech fixed it. He made recommendations about what I should be doing and when to keep the system running optimally. The only downside - it took three weeks to get an appointment.
