I would say for overall rating an “F-“for the aggravation. The work was done, they’ve got good equipment, they did a good job of taking care of it, but as far as the lying, that is where we had our problems. The price was average with the rest of them, pretty much. The quality of service, they did a good job. I guess they were punctual in showing up on time. Their professionalism as far as doing the work is a “B”, but as far as their promises, that’s the “F”. Basically, they just lied to me on the damage and then they refused to take care of it. They knew what they were doing and they handled it properly. I would not use them again, I even put things on the internet about them. It was so petty, it was ridiculous. It aggravated the heck out of me. It was a lot of extra expenses and a lot of extra aggravation.
Description of Work: I used Alexander's Property Management and we had a lot of problems with them removing a tree. They did a lot of damage to the back yard. I had to take him to small claims court to get things rectified. They did a good job, but they destroyed the backyard and they refused to repair it until I went to court and had a hearing on that, when they finally put it in. It took months to get it repaired. I think they did it towards the end of July and I had to wait till about 6 months later to finally get it repaired. It took till January 17th to get it done. I think it was the 28th when they had to have the lawn put in there. It was my mistake by giving them 6 months. I never should have given them 6 months time. Their removal was good, their competence, but they just destroyed the yard in doing so and they said they would fix it, and they didn’t. Work wise, they did good work, but promise wise, they lied. I had to take them to small claims court and it cost me some money to do that. It was $3,100, plus I sent about $250 in small claims court. They had to remove a huge tree from my backyard. They had to bring in heavy and I saw that my yard was being damaged. The grass was being chewed up by the heavy equipment and they told me, “don’t worry, everything will be repaired when they’re done!” As soon as it was done, they refused to do it. It was initiated in July 28th of 2016. Before it every got resolved in the courts was in January. They finished the work in 2 or 3 days. The repairs took forever because they didn’t want to do it. It was a 2 or 3 day job at the most. July 28th is when they started and they probably got it done 3 days later. Then it took forever because I made a mistake of giving them 6 months. I made an amendment to the contract. They said the grass would be back in 3 to 6 months. I made the mistake of paying them up front, I paid the whole thing off, I never should have. I did give them 3 to 6 months and that was entirely too long on my part as well. I told them after 4 months, I took them to court. I had my lawn people come in after 3 months and looked at the damage and they said the grass will never grow back, it will just completely be weeds and dirt. I said, enough is enough and I took them to court in 4 months. The judge said, “since you wrote down 6 months in the contract, you’ve got to give them 6 months!” I did, then I went back to court. I went back to court 3 times. I sued the individual and since he is a corporation, they threw it out the first time because I didn’t put the words Inc. I put the Alexander's Properties, I didn’t put Inc. I just sued Alexander himself. Then they threw it out. We came back a second time. The second time they threw it out again because of an apostrophe, I think I put Alexander Inc, instead of Alexander’s. So, because of the apostrophe, their lawyer refused to accept it. He said he wants it dismissed because it still isn’t correct. It took three separate visits to the judge to finally get it taken care of. The judge to them, since he put in 6 months, he’s got to give you 6 months, but I want that lawn replaced by the end of that 6 months. Then they finally came in and replaced it. It was very, very aggravating for 6 months, plus I had to keep filing and spending money to get a guy to deliver the papers to them. It was a statement saying they had to be in court at a certain time, so I had to get somebody to deliver that to them also.
