I haven’t written a review before (just not tech savvy) – but I figured out how to do this simply because James deserved a topnotch review!! First of all, he is a real gentleman, customer service oriented, has “perfectionism” in his veins, and is not afraid of a “hands-on” homeowner’s interest in watching him work and communicating with him. He reviewed some texted photos and spoke with me prior to coming to install a Schlage front doorlock assembly from Lowe’s, so I felt comfortable with the plan to fix problem. A prior contractor had installed the latch backward and when workers kept going in/out and slamming the door it had “eaten away some of the doorframe wood” – it looked pretty awful and I thought I would have to replace a section of the frame. But James had a great solution – he suggested/brought with him a matching aged bronze, extra big strike plate which covered the damaged portion of the doorframe perfectly! While he worked on the frame, he allowed me to “team up” and “quickly paint” a very small door area where the new assembly was not quite the same size/shape (I had everything ready to go) before he aligned and installed the Schlage. He had arrived promptly & was an absolute pleasure – a great professional who charged a very reasonable price!! I have unfortunately experienced some bad contractors – and so greatly value a skilled, kind, patient, old-fashioned craftsman when I find one! It went great! He was on time, pleasant, and did a great job. He also charged much less than I expected to be charged for the amount of work done. I would definitely hire him again and I will be recommending him to others.

Excellent. Jim was 100% dead on with showing up within 24 hours after I explained my dilemma, and he found the necessary replacement parts at a reasonable rate for labor and materials. Top notch service! I thought that didn't exist anymore. It does!!

We have been having problems with our front door lock. James responded quickly to my message, and even offered some quick suggestions to try. We scheduled an appointment, and he showed up right on time. After a quick assessment, James made a recommendation and fixed everything up! I am very happy with the service I was given. Hopefully I won't need him again soon, but if I have lock problems, he will be the person I call.

Arriving promptly at the scheduled time, James did an excellent job retrofitting new security locks and handles for two entry doors, replacing handles and locks of three PGT sliding glass doors and installing security equipment. James is what I call an old fashioned professional, polite, charming and knew his craft. He took one look at the issue and determined it was not the door lock but an issue with the hinges on the door. They are not substantial enough for the weight of the impact door and were allowing the door to sag. While I may need in the future to have them replaced, James was a gentleman and adjusted everything to the point I can now open and close the door and the locks without issue. I highly recommend him to anyone who needs his services and won't hesitate to call him again.
