Josh first of all made feel comfortable from the beginning to the end of all phases of the job. We were able to contact him and also Erin through each step of the painting process. We had an issue with another company which were suppose to install new gutters on the front part of our second story home. The company continued to cancel the job which made it harder for the painters to complete the job. Josh and his crew worked around the issue and assured us that everything would be done to our satisfaction. They were true to their word and the painters were polite and professional from start to finish. My husband and I have had a bad experience from the building of our home to any jobs that we had done on it these few years. We've explained this to Josh when he first came to talk with us. Josh in a calm tone said, "We will make sure Mr. and Mrs. Kirk that we will that you love our job." He was right with the whole process, we LOVE OUR HOME and everyone else who sees it love it to. The entire company is a "CLASS ACT" and we would recommend them to anyone.

They showed up on time to give a quote. Their bid was the most reasonable. I had one that was over three times as much. The workers showed up on the scheduled day on time and ready to work. They had to remove wallpaper that was hard to work with and did a great job. They also removed two medicine cabinets and repaired the wall. They very meticulously taped off areas. They cleaned up after themselves. The work was accomplished in only 1 1/2 days. I would certainly use them again.

We called Polson Painting based on the outstanding reviews we read on Angie's List. We were not disappointed. Our home had not been painted for about 12 years. There was a lot of prep work and scraping which took a whole day to do. Wilmer and his crew did a beautiful job prepping and painting our home. It looks fantastic. We have a large home with lots of trim and grooves. When we did the walk around I was sure they would have missed something but everything was done and done beautifully. Thank you Don Polson, Wilmer and your crew. We are very happy with you, your work and will definitely recommend you to anyone who is thinking about painting their home. Thanks again.

This is by far the best service experience I had in years. Don quoted me over the phone, stuck to his price, meet my accelerated timeline (3 day) and the quality was excellent. His crew was very professional and stayed late each day to complete the job on time. This is the 5th house I?ve had painted this year but the first time I?ve used Don Polson. It won't be the last. I can?t say enough good about this experience.

Don was responsive and his crew did an amazing job painting the exterior of our 2 story house and detached garage. We had to reschedule a few times due to weather but once rain cleared his crew got there early and stayed until the job was done (and finished before Thanksgiving when we had family coming over so we got to show off the new paint color). They did a beautiful job and in their contract they guarantee work for 8 years from blistering/peeling as long as you use them for annual pressure washing. House looks amazing and I couldn't be happier. Also they use Sherman Williams paint which is included in the price which is a better quality than some other painters we contacted. Overall we're really happy.

The Polson team was great. I cannot offer enough superlatives for the outstanding job they performed. All windows and doors were covered including the lanai floor prior to painting start. Once they began, the team worked in tandem to ensure all areas were properly painted, edges were clean and straight and all cleanup performed before leaving the premises. Prior to finishing, the team reviewed the work taking time to do touch up painting or actually repainting some areas to remove drips. The work was fast and efficient, very professional, on time and the price was the same as quoted. I would highly recommend Polson Painting to anyone who needs a home painted.

Work is great. The house looks fabulous inside and out. The Polson team shows up when they say they will, work quietly and efficiently. Got the job done when they said it would be done. Did a great job of returning furniture back to its original place. Have used them for all house painting over the past 14 years and will do so in the future.

Polson's painting crew washed, base coated and top coated my stucco-on-block home, plus the vinyl siding, quickly and expertly. I am impressed by the attention to detail, as recessed areas and trim areas were satisfactorily addressed, without my having to draw notice to them. Clean-up, after the job, was thorough. The total job met and exceeded my expectations for quality. The foreman, Chris Stubbs, repeatedly checked on and supported his crew, throughout the installation. This contributed to the overall high quality of the job. I strongly recommend Polson Painting to others in the Tampa Bay area for quality painting work, at an attractive price.

I got a quote from Polson and took some time to decide whether I wanted to pull the trigger. At no time did they pressure me to make a decision and allowed me to come back to them to accept their quote. Once I selected them as a vendor, they made the process to get paint samples easy and offered to apply them or for me to apply them at my leisure. I opted to apply them myself and within hours of submitting the order to Chris at Polson the paints were ready to pick up at my local sherwin williams store. After finalizing color, I worked with Chris to select a week that they were available for painting. While there were weeks they were not available, any delay was driven by my schedule as I had a number of trips planned in early March. As scheduled, they team showed up to my house to pressure wash, then tape up windows and edges, and finally to apply the paint, which took 1.5 days or so. After the work was complete, the team did a good job of cleaning up after themselves and rehung all of my light fixtures. I have checked out the lower areas of my two story house and they have done a good job. I also got a call from Polson after the job was complete to settle the payment and they made sure to remind me that if I find any areas that I am not happy with that they are happy to come back out to do touch ups and fixes to ensure that I am completely have with the job. I was also able to apply the angies list coupon without any issue, which saved me 200 on the job! Another great thing to mention is that I am very busy at work throughout the day and email is often times my easiest means of communication as I am at my computer all day. Chris was responsive to my emails and the majority of our conversations were through email, making the process easy on me.
Description of Work: Painted the exterior of my home including trim, doors, porch railings and garage doors. Key to note that I have a two story wood siding house, which is what drove up with cost. Polson was in line with other quotes that I got.

I am very pleased with the outcome. They matched the color of the siding, patched up where needed (I pointed out a few areas I was concerned about and they went the extra mile to caulk them), and the price (I checked other companies) was right in the ballpark of what I felt would be charged by a professional; I wanted a quality job at a reasonable price, not a "cheap" job at a bargain price. All in all, I would highly recommend Polson to anyone (and already have to two people) and would feel comfortable hiring them again. Thanks Mr. Polson.
Description of Work: I have a small (1400 square foot) home which has one wall with siding, one third of another wall with siding, and some siding on two of the others, but I needed the rest of the house to be painted to match the siding (which I had done by another company fairly recently).

They were on time, communicated well, worked quickly and efficiently. The quality of work was excellent and attention to detail was great. Would use them again or recommend them to anyone.
Description of Work: They power washed the house on Monday. Then Friday they replaced caulk, fixed cracks and holes in the stucco, covered everything with plastic that would not be painted, then put on the prime coat/sealer. Shortly after lunch time they began painting the house base gray and trim white. Finally they painted the front doors the planned color. Removed all plastic covering from the glass, screens, and hardware and put all garbage into two large trash bags for disposal. They also replaced the two outdoor garage lights with new ones that were previously purchased.

House was not caulked prior to painting, even though we had been assured several times that this was ?part of the prep process? by the owner. Now, just a few days after painting, the stair-step cracks in the stucco and around window casings that were there prior (and one of the main reasons we decided to repaint) are already beginning to reappear. I believe (but have not confirmed) that this integral step was skipped by the painting team due to a shortened ?prep? day due to a forecast weather front bringing rain into our area for 20 straight hours. They were only at our house for less than two hours on the day they were supposed to block all the windows and trim, caulk and prime the house. Clearly, the caulking was the time consuming task they skipped to accommodate the shortened schedule. Early the next day (when the house was still wet from the rain), the painting team (two men on days 1 & 2; 1 on day 3) jumped right into painting the main color of the house, completing that in a single day. They also stripped the front door and put it back on its hinges for repainting the following day. On Day 3, a now single worker did all of the trim and the front door himself. Although the front of the door looks nice, the old stripped paint had been allowed to drip onto the door?s sides and instead of removing it, was just painted over the top with fresh paint. Not only is this obvious and unsightly when the door is opened (globs of dripped paint), it causes the door to stick due to the uneven thickness on the sides. The door was also closed by the painter and declared ?finished,? when it wasn?t quite dry yet; resulting in black paint splotches on our white interior trim paint (in fact, some areas of the frame that were painted black are still wet 6 days later; probably because this is wood and it doesn?t dry that fast after there?s been rain). Finally, two large (50 gallon) construction sized bags filled with used paint cans (including the larger 5-gallon white containers), painted on butcher paper, thrown out McDonalds? bags, etc. were left on the side of our house (without telling us; we only ?discovered? them several days later while doing yard work). Unlike the other issues with the painting itself (the cracks, front door, etc.), this was an immediate problem as we are only allocated one garbage can per trash pick-up day due to county rules and our one can was already full (Mr. Polson lives and works in this county, so he is well aware of this fact). I, believing the trash was left behind accidentally because the worker was rushing to finish the project so he wouldn?t have to come back another day, sent an email to Mr. Polson, asking that one of his team members come pick up the bags. 1-1/2 days later, when I still had not received a response to my request, I resorted to sending another message through his ?contact? form on his website. When I finally received a response later that afternoon (over 2 days after my first message), it was the rather glib response that he?d ?never had a problem with the garbage men picking it up? before and that he would ?try? to get over at some point to eventually get the bags. This was upsetting on several levels to me. First, that he showed such a disregard over my obvious concern over being left with several large bags to dispose (not caring at all on how I was to accomplish this). Second, I now had two very large bags of very smelly paint trash that I could not bring into the garage (too smelly) or leave by the curb (HOA restrictions). Third, how long it actually took for me to get any response at all from Mr. Polson (and just days after the project was ?completed.?) And finally, and probably the most disturbing, the left behind garbage was not an accidental oversight. Apparently Polson Painting leaves their contractor trash behind for the owners to dispose. It?s probably not surprising that I declined Mr. Polson?s less than sincere offer to finally get the trash at this point. Needless to say, I?m very dissatisfied with the quality of the work performed (particularly the skipping of the integral prep step of caulking pre-existing cracks, something we were assured several times by Mr. Polson would be completed) and the lack of responsiveness by the owner after the fact on even the simplest of tasks (the garbage left behind). It is clear that the various problems that arose during the painting process (most discovered only after a more careful inspection of the house after completion) were due to the paint team?s efforts to stay on schedule (even with the rain interruption that essentially took out a whole day) and the one individual?s desire to go home early (he lives in another state). Although Mr. Polson eventually offered to fix the problems caused by his paint team (after my husband exchanged several phone calls/text messages with him), his handling of my initial communications convinced us he would not give us the appropriate time and concern needed to adequately repair the work already done at our home. So, we also declined his offer to repair. As far as we?re concerned, we paid quite a bit of money for this service ($1,800 for a single-story, 1,850 s.f. house) and received sub-par service. We would not trust Mr. Polson with our house a second time.

Response from POLSON PAINTING
Mrs. (member name removed), I was very surprised to see this review. You were very happy with the work that my men performed when I spoke with you the day we completed your job. We both agreed your front door looked terrible before Rich striped your door down to bare metal, primed it and repainted it, I did not charge you extra for that work as I normally would. Now it looks brand new! No one was rushing to finish to complete your home, my team did what they were supposed to do, NO short cuts were taken, caulking is the last thing that we do as specified in the proposal that you have. The concerns you did mention to me were that you were frustrated that my crew forget to put the 2 garbage bags to the curb and when you contacted me, I told you that usually the garbage trucks pick it up and I told you that I would be more than happy to stop by and remove it. Yes, your husband did text me and I told him the same thing, that I would be more than happy to pick it up, he kindly said that he didn't want me at your home and that he would take care of it. Typically, this is something that homeowners are OK with as the garbage is picked up. I have incorporated this as a check list item for future jobs based on your feedback, to ensure satisfaction with this item. As far as the work that we did, you never mentioned anything about our workmanship other than how happy you were with it. If anything needs to be addressed, please contact me, and allow me the opportunity to resolve your concerns. As I mentioned, the only concerns you shared with me were the garage bags. You have my contact information and will be more that happy to address it. Good day!!

1st job: Fantastic work!! I can't say enough good things about Don Polson and his painting crew. I was trying to sell my house very quickly because we found the dream house we were looking for. I quickly got HOA approval of my colors and my Realtor scheduled an open house and the house badly needed exterior paint and pool deck re-painting. Don's crew totally hooked me up and got the job scheduled and everything finished within a week of contract which was exactly 1 day before open house. I really appreciate you going above and beyond to make my open house a success!! It was my poor planning that put me in this bind and they got me out of it. House sold on the first day on the market at the open house and I'm sure the fresh curb appeal did it. 2nd job: Fast forward 6 weeks and we are in our new home and wanted to get the bedrooms repainted before we put in new carpet. I was travelling and Don Polson's crew found several holes from wires behind furniture in the master that I failed to let them know about it (old audio/visual wiring we didn't want). They called to see if I wanted them patched and then they took care of it. The drywall repair was perfect. Everything textured up and the paint lines were perfect too. One triple tray ceiling and one double were awesome. The Sherwin William's guys on SR54 in Trinity is where we went and just used those samples to give to Don for each room. I highly recommend Polson painting and I will use them for every paint project I have in the future. Thanks Don!!
Description of Work: We just moved and Polson painting painted the exterior and pool deck of our old house and 4 bedrooms and multiple ceiling trays in our new home.
