Dean called me very soon and was corteous and upfront about his timeframe to be able to start the work. I needed someone sooner so I had to find someone else. I would definately use him again in the future as honesty and professionalism are strong points in my book.

mWe had purchased a new front door and hardware from Home Depot and had planned to have them install it. When they began, we discovered evidence of significant termite damage throughout the front doorway area. Home Depot was unable to provide the repair service once Terminex had treated the area to make sure there were no active termites. We were concerned about having multiple tradesmen involved and disappointed with the so-called "handymen" we contacted. So, we spoke to an architect friend who suggested we go to Angie's List. The next day I joined for 2 years and explored the web site. Best decision we ever made. We noted the many excellent recommendations of Dean Bille whose trades matched our needs 100%. I called him Wednesday 1/2, he came out to give me an estimate on Saturday 1/5 and today, Friday 1/11, Dean he nd his helper Chris completed the entire project on time and as agreed. The new door is in place, looks great and we enthusiastically recommend Dean Bille, who turned someone else's disaster into a first class success. He makes complicated stuff look easy, is prompt, brings all the needed tools to the job and provides the required materials within his estimate. Dean needs no supervision because he knows when to ask a question of the homeowner. He respects your home and leaves it cleaner than he found it. He is easy to work with. We are so thankful we contacted Angie's list and chose Dean.

Dean showed up on time for initial estimate and to perform work at a later date. Completed work on time and did a fabulous job. Repairs blend perfectly with existing materials. The PVC board he suggested will prevent the need to ever replace rotted wood again.

Dean responded to my initial voice mail very quickly. We scheduled an appointment to meet to discuss the project and he arrived promptly on that day. We discussed in detail what I wanted the mantel to look like and he gave me a few very good ideas and showed be actual samples he had in his truck. He drew up a design that we agreed on. That afternoon he emailed me the quote and recapped our discussion of the specifics. Two days later he came for the job. He arrived on time. We again discussed exactly what the design should be and he created a sample piece for me to see. Dean and his assistant were profeessional and tidy. Excellent workmanship. The mantel is beautiful. I will absolutely hire him for more work in the future!

Dean responded promptly to my call for an estimate for making a mantle for my fireplace. He came to my home and discussed the project with me. I was impressed by his ability to communicate his vision and technique for accomplishing this project. He also listened well to the ideas that I had for how I wanted the mantle to look. I had thought the project would take much longer to accomplish but Dean had it made and installed within a matter of days versus the weeks I thought it would take. The handcrafted mantle is lovely and exceeded my expectation for how it would turn out. I just can't wait to hang my Christmas stockings from it!

We had a mildew problem. He came out immediately for the estimate, and work was done within 7 days. He got in and took care of the mildew problem, even having to remove some of the floor as well. He is very nice man. I would use him again in a heartbeat. He had a helper with him during the repairs, and the helper was also very nice. They were very polite. They left work area clean, and got all the mildewed materials out of the house as quickly as possible. Thank God for Angie's List.

Of the various quotes we received, a couple were comparable in price but Dean provided more detail work on the project to build the bookcase and mantel. He and his one employee arrived timely and immediately explained how the project would progress - Monday complete tear-out, measure and create diagram and Friday complete assembly, paint touch-up where needed and finish. They were professional and polite. He built, stained and painted the bookcase and mantel in his workshop and assembled on site. The products are well crafted and beautifull.

Dean communicated clearly, provided a clear estimate, was punctual and courteous. His craftsmanship and attention to detail are exceptional as is his professionalism. No nicks or scrapes on the walls or floors. Wall unit was finished on time and is now the center piece of our living space.

He did an excellent job in building a stair railing from my rough drawings and pictures! Communication was great - always arrived/called when he said he would. Definitely recommended!

We scheduled a house painting for the week of 5/21/12. When the painters started the job on Monday, they revealed wood rot that was too extensive for them to repair. They recommended that we contact a carpenter to complete the repairs so they could complete the painting job. As first time homeowners with an 80-year old house, we found this news pretty overwhelming. We got on Angie's List and found Dean T. Billie Carpentry as the highest rated company with the most ratings. We called him that morning, he came out that afternoon, worked up a free estimate, and gave us a proposal that evening. We thought his proposal was very fair and it was comparable to other jobs with a similar amount of labor. We hired him immediately. He and Chris completed the job from Wednesday through Friday (recall that we called him on Monday of that same week). Each day, they arrived on time and completed the portion of the job that they intended to complete. We were extremely pleased with the quality, comprehensiveness, and speed of their work. There are only 2 people with this business and they worked faster than many companies with a whole team of people. Dean also offered to come back out if any additional problems are revealed when the painters come back to complete their job. We were so happy with the service we received, that we gave them a thank-you card upon their completion of the job. We would recommend Dean and Chris without reservation to anyone looking for a carpenter.

My kitchen remodel was the only reason I joined Angies List. I guess this company is just too busy as there was no reply to a request for Quote.

I wanted to get some kitchen related projects done and as usual I went to Angie's List to get some recommendations. Dean Billie is located near my home and he came very highly recommended. I called him and although he was very busy he was able to stop by my home two days later and gave me a written estimate by email the next day. So far I have hired Mr. Billie to work on two projects in my home. The first, he custom built and installed pull out drawers in my lower kitchen cabinets. They fit and operate like a dream. The work was done promptly and installed exactly when he said they would be. I couldn't be happier. The second project was to design a build a bookshelf and wine rack on the front of my kitchen bar. He designed a solution to an exterior corner on the bar to connect the shelves to the wine rack. The wine rack is absolutely beautiful and the shelves are all adjustable but faced cleanly. The stain matches my existing cabinets precisely. He even facilitated an electrical outlet on the bar so I didn't lose the use of it. He is in the process of designing and installing a butcher block top for the bar and I mean to hire him for some exterior door repairs and to build a pergola in my back yard later in the spring. I can't recommend Dean Billie highly enough. He is so courteous and pleasant to work with, prompt, clean, efficient and highly reliable. The only drawback is that he is becoming so popular it's going to be hard to fit into his schedule.

Job #1: This went quick and neat, the paint was an exact match and it looks brand new. Job #2: This job was $1,750. I would like to point out that ...although I don't know much about carpentry...I believe these windows did present a bit of a challenge. They are large windows in our 2 additions built in 2007. Most of the people who worked on our additions did a terrible job, so we washed our hands of them as quickly as possible. We didn't have the windows trimmed until now, when we consulted Angie's List and chose Dean Bille to do the job. These windows had a lot of irregularity due to the poor workmanship of the people who worked on them in 2007. When Dean got finished with them, they look absolutely great and transform the rooms they are in. Dean's employee also replaced part of a door casing where my dog had chewed it at no extra charge, which I really appreciate, and that was a good job too.

I called to ask if he could build what we wanted. He was very busy and said he would call me in a couple of weeks. He did. He showed up on time to review our job. He promised an estimate in a couple of days. He did. He built the cabinet in his shop and delivered it when he said he would. It was exactly what we wanted. He was patient with me when it came to deciding where to place the pull-out shelves. He and his employee cleaned up after themselves. We were so pleased that we discussed another project with him before he left.

Everything went very well. Dean lives more than an hours drive from my house, but was willing to come all that way to give a free estimate, and I appreciated that. I could sense that he was a person who could anticipate and solve problems that might come up on the job so I hired him to do it. He arrived on time with a helper and they worked together to do both jobs in 6 hours. There was a problem with the weather stripping on the door, but Dean quickly solved it and the job came out perfectly. I liked the fact that he has an inventive mind and finds a logical way to solve any problems. He is easy to work with, and very energetic. I am very happy with my doors and newly supported and repaired deck, and confident that the work was that was done was as good as it could be.

The job went fine. There was an issue with an electrical wire that was hit, but accidents happen and the great work he did made up for the inconvenience. He is very skilled and overall a very nice and professional man.

Overall did a good job. He ordered the crown moulding and painted it before and after installing.

Very well! We were not sure what we needed or size. Dean came up with a wonderful design. The oak stain fit extremely well with the other oak furniture and cabinets in our house.

The replaced door and looks good as new. He made sure the window size in the door matched the shutters installed on the old door. The door seals perfectly. The rotted facia was cut out and replaced. It blends in with the existing facia and you can't tell where it was replaced. He explained in detail what was involved in the projects and any complications that might be encountered. I was very pleased with his work.
