DEAN BILLE

Dean was a pleasure to work with. We desired to have built-in cabinets/bookcases installed on either side of our family room fireplace and identified Dean using Angie's List. Dean came to the house at the agreed upon time to learn what work with wanted done and in a timely manner followed up emailing us an estimate. After we agreed to have the work done, Dean came back to the house to take exact measurements and to confirm the work to be performed, get our preference for the style of doors we wanted for our cabinets, the desired finish, and any special features we might want. The work was installed on the promised date and the quality of the work was excellent. We would definitely use Dean again.

Due to changes in our schedule, we had to postpone the scheduled timing of the work several times. Mr. Bille was very accommodating. The work was done with dispatch using Mr Bille himself and two helpers. The job was finished on schedule as predicted. Mr. Bille was especially quick and experienced at looking at the job and making an appropriate and accurate bid. He seems very fair and direct. We would definitely hire him again.

Dean communicated with me right away when I contacted him for a proposal to build a closet in a room that was a den that we were converting to a bedroom. He came out right away, measured everything, he made sure he understood what we wanted done. He sent me the proposal within two days and we scheduled the job. He actually was able to fit us in sooner than originally planned so that worked out well. He came to the job the first day with his two-man crew and went to work. They had the closet framed, drywalled, spackled and painted within a day. There was an issue finding bi-fold doors to match the ones we already have, but Dean came through for us! He painted them in his shop and installed them on a Sunday. We will definitely contact Dean Bille again for our future carpentry needs. He is personable, knowledgeable and highly skilled. His price was reasonable and the closet looks like it has been in our house since we built it.

This was several years ago, but since you wanted a review, here it is. I would not hire Dean Bille again and have not.. He seems like a very nice man, but he was in a hurry and I just did not think the work was quality for the price. Most of the reviews on Angie's list were high praise for the quality (do people not know quality work????) and good prices. When he finished and gave me the bill, he made a remark something like he'd been on vacation and needed to pay off his debt. At any rate, I felt like he was apologizing for overcharging.. I don't remember what I paid, so I just put a price in here. I always keep receipts and could look it up, but this is not worth my time.

Mr. Bille arrived on time and was very pleasant and professional. He took the time to discuss his design plans with us and drew them out on a piece of paper to give further detail. Mr. Bille even spent a significant period of time to provide his view and recommendations on another unrelated project that we were not hiring him for, which was much appreciated! Mr. Bille provided a written estimate within a few days of his visit, as promised, which we felt was very fair based on two other estimates which were provided. Due to an unforeseen repair coming up which was going to cost thousands of dollars (literally the day after Mr. Bille visited us) we had to put this project on hold for the foreseeable future. If and when we decide to complete this project we will definitely plan on using Dean Bille, Thank you!

He was very prompt in responding to me and coming out to see our problems. He even came on a Saturday. He stayed in good contact with me about what was happening and came and did the work quickly after quoting me (which I understand was a problem other people had with other contractors).

The estimate was for fair market value. He was prompt, professional and honest about the time frame in which he could complete the job. I did not use him because there was a change in plans regarding the home. If I need a professional in the future he would be the first person I would call.

We had roof space above our car where a 2nd AC unit could have been installed if we had chosen to put one in. We did not and the builder left this space open which took away valuable storage space inside the attic. This area was 9'W X 3'D X 3' H. We decided we wanted to take back this space and build a simple platform to store annual things like Christmas decorations, luggage, camping gear etc. I, the wife, did not trust the husbands ability to build something that would not fall down on my car in a few years, so we called Dean. He gave us a fair quote and was able to come out the following Saturday to perform the work. Dean was 5 mins early for the job, he and his helper took about 1-1/2 hours from start to finish and they did a good job of clean up afterward. Update: Dean is a considerate business owner who wants to make sure that his customers are happy. Husband and wife were having the typical functional VS looks argument. Wife wanted drywall on the bottom of the frame, while husband wanted lumber so he could hang hooks, ladders, etc. Dean reached out to us a few weeks after the job was completed to make sure that we were happy and even had a few ideas of things he could add to help us compromise. In the end, wife got a lot of her closet space back and husband has what he wants in the garage so everyone wins. We appreciated Dean's efforts and highly recommend him to anyone that needs his services.

Before staining/painting, needed rotted wood replaced. There was a place under the eave; 4 boards on the steps/ramp and one handrail pieces on the small porch; and 2 boards on the garage. After scheduling, I remembered an area under a window box where critters sometimes crawl and called Dean to add. He came on Thanksgiving Day to assess and said he would do at no additional cost using scrap wood he had available. Dean and helper were prompt and extremely efficient working separately at times and together at others. With all the needed equipment organized in the van, they were able to quickly complete the needed repairs. The handrail couldn't be matched but Dean was able to dress the boards used to blend and not be noticeably different. All trash was collected and removed. I'm very pleased with the efficiency and quality of work by this skilled craftsman.

From the time I contacted Dean, he responded quickly via email and phone calls to schedule an estimate for his services. Dean came up with a simple solution to my construction problem. (Another provider turned my problem into a complex repair job.) Dean set up a time for the repairs, stayed true to the time, the cost, and the hours needed for the repair. Working with one other person, he repaired my three problems to my complete satisfaction. I am very pleased with the results. I would absolutely call on Dean again should I need carpentry services in the future.

Dean and his assistant were prompt, thorough, and tidy. The major sanding and other work on the large closet doors was performed outside. The results were sturdy, and everything looked good. They cleaned both the indoor and outdoor work areas nicely when they completed the work.

We wanted a 10 foot mantle built and installed above our fireplace. Dean did a beautiful job fabricating it. He installed it, caulked where it meet the masonry, and sanded it. We are extremely happy and will definitely use Dean again when we need wood working done.I would have spent at least $200 on materials alone from Home Depot!

Very happy with all work performed. This was our second use of this provider's services. He had previously done a built-in entertainment center and book shelves. Dean is extremely meticulous and goes to great lengths to ensure customer is satisfied with the outcome.
