Description of Work: I live in another state. I contacted Mr. Bille by phone to have him build a deck/porch on a rental home I own. He went out , performed the agreed upon work and sent me a photo of the finished job. My property manager confirmed that the work was well done and of high quality.

Description of Work: I had contacted several other individuals from the provider list. Some did not respond in a timely manner, others priced their services too high in my opinion. I needed to have the rotten wood replaced on my front porch and several other areas around my home. Mr. Dean came up with some practical ideas for the repair of my porch which included using a plastic wood product at the bases of my porch columns. I believe this will be a long term solution for my particular problem. I would highly recommend Mr. Dean to other customers who are having issues with rotten wood.

+ -1 moreWe had a very good experience with Dean and his assistant, Chris. They were on time each day and finished the entire job in the three days anticipated. These fellows were both very polite, low-key and respectful of the property and the family. They were quiet and did their job with a minimum of invasiveness. Dean did a variety of types of work - all with skill and professionalism. I was particularly impressed by the way he smoothly blended the articulation of existing with patched new wood and by the precision and quality finished look of the transom's he repaired. Everything looked great when Dean and Chris were done. Dean's price was a little higher than a couple of his peers, but for us the minimal extra expense was worth it in the long run. I wouldn't hesitate to use Dean again and highly recommend his service.
Description of Work: Dean replaced the water rotted interior transom's of several interior doors. He also replaced part of a water rotted decorative deck railing, as well as some of the fine wooden detail on the front porch columns. Additionally, he replaced rotten support materials and beams just underneath the roof line at several points around the house.

Description of Work: They installed Crown Molding and a door. It was not the least expensive but proved to be the best choice.

+ -1 moreI E-MAILED DEAN, AND HE RESPONDED IMMEDIATELY WITH A QUICK VISIT TO DETERMINE THE EXTENT OF THE WOOD DAMAGE AND DETERMINE WHAT WOOD REQUIRED REPLACEMENT TO BRING BACK THE ORIGINAL GOOD LOOKS OF THE PORCH. AFTER OBTAINING COSTS ON THE EXACT GRADE AND QUALITY OF WOOD NEEDED FOR THE JOB, HE CALLED ME BACK IN TWO DAYS WITH A PRECISE QUOTE. HE WAS ABLE TO SCHEDULE THE WORK SHORTLY THEREAFTER AND BROUGHT AN ASSISTANT TO MAKE SURE IT WOULD BE COMPLETED WITHIN A DAY. HE REPLACED TWO DIFFICULT-TO-REACH SUPPORT BEAMS WITH PRESSURE TREATED BEAMS (PRETTY MUCH TERMITE PROOF)AND REPLACED ALL DAMAGED TRIM. THE QUALITY AND SPEED OF HIS WORK WAS IMPRESSIVE. HE CLEANED UP THE WORK AREA COMPLETELY AND TOOK GREAT CARE NOT TO DAMAGE ANY OF THE PLANTS AND SHRUBS AROUND THE PORCH. WE WOULD HIGHLY RECOMMEND HIM TO ANYONE!
Description of Work: WE HAD SUBTERRANEAN TERMITE DAMAGE TO OUR FRONT PORCH. DEAN DETERMINED THE EXTENT OF THE DAMAGE AND GAVE A FAIR ESTIMATE OF THE COSTS TO REPLACE ALL DAMAGED WOOD AND RESTORE THE APPEARANCE OF THE FRONT PORCH TO ITS ORIGINAL GOOD LOOKS.

I WAS NOT IN A HURRY, SO THAT WAS NOT A PROBLEM FOR ME. DEAN'S WORKMANSHIP WAS EXCELLENT. YOU CAN'T EVEN TELL WHERE THE WOOD WAS REPLACED. HE BLENDED IT IN WELL. HE WAS ALSO VERY HELPFUL IN ADVISING US THAT THE CAUSE OF THE PROBLEM WAS A LEAK IN THE ROOF. I CERTAINLY WILL HIRE DEAN AGAIN FOR FUTURE JOBS.

TENANTS WERE UPSET AND DID NOT WANT TO SEE HIM AROUND AGAIN. HE WAS STRANGELY QUITE WHEN I ARRIVED TO PAY HIM AND SEND HIM ON HIS WAY. I WILL NOT CALL HIM FOR THE FENCE REPLACEMENT. HE ALSO MADE BACK DECKS SMALLER THAN THEY WERE TO SAVE WOOD EVEN THOUGH I ASKED FOR EXACT REPRODUCTION. SINCE THE WORK WAS COMPLETE I WANTED HIM OUT OF THERE PERMANENTLY. I GIVE HIM A "C" IN PRICE SINCE HE SHORTCHANGED ME WITH THE SMALLER DECKS AND MISSING BANNISTER.
Description of Work: REQUESTED TO REPRODUCE TWO FRONT STAIRWAYS FOR DUPLEX. EACH HAD ONE BANNISTER ON THE DOORKNOB SIDE. ALSO, 2 SMALL BACK DECKS WERE NEEDED BEHIND THE DUPLEX. HE TOOK FREQUENT SIT DOWN BREAKS THE FIRST DAY ON THE JOB WITH A YOUNG HELPER. MR. BILLIE WASN'T TOO FRIENDLY PROBABLY BECAUSE I SHOWED UP AT THE PROPERTY. WHEN I WAS IN FRONT OF THE PROPERTY THEY WORKED IN THE BACK. WHEN I WENT TO THE BACK THEY WENT TO THE FRONT! HE THOUGHT FRONT STAIR BANNISTERS WOULD LOOK BETTER IF BOTH ARE ON THE LEFT SIDE SO I HAD TO REMIND HIM THE BANNISTERS ARE ON THE DOORKNOB SIDE OR RIGHT SIDE. HE HAD TO COME BACK ON A SUNDAY TO PUT BANNISTER UP BECAUSE HE HAD NO MORE MATERIALS THAT FRIDAY! SO ONE FRONT DOOR HAS 2 BANNISTERS AND ONE ONLY HAS ONE. THIS LOOKS FOOLISH. OF COURSE THERE IS NO EXTRA MATERIAL TO ADD ANOTHER BANNISTER SO THEY BOTH MATCH. HE DIDN'T WANT TO DO A PERMIT AND I TOLD HIM I WASN'T COMFORTABLE WITH THAT.
