+ 3 moreMy son was in a tragic car accident paralyzed from chest down. During season they put other jobs aside to put a shower in and make it handicap accessible. They put in a ramp to make it easy for him to get into the bathroom. The bathroom came out beautiful, which he loved. They put a door in his bedroom for easy access that was not even included with what we originally wanted. They asked him for advice and his opinion to make him feel included in the process. I cannot thank them enough for the fantastic job they did and the consideration they gave my son. They became like family. I would hope and recommend them to everyone!! We felt very lucky. Thank you Jeff and crew and Angie's list we couldn't have done without you. Fantastic job with fantastic people.

+ 14 moreThe two workers came to the house every day and worked all day, wasting little time. They asked if we minded if they came on the weekends, which was fine, including the last day, which was labor day. It got the project done more quickly. We can?t say enough about Clay and Andrew who did the actual work. Owners Jeff and Brian were very responsive to our questions, stopping by occasionally to check on the work being done, and answering e-mails even late at night or early in the morning. With their help we were able to work with a consultant to pick out and arrange delivery of floor and wall tiles, which was helpful when it turned out that some of the purchased tiles were chipped or cracked. The company made all the arrangements with the subcontractors to ensure a smooth flow of work during the project. We paid slightly more than the initial estimate because of the rotted sub floor wood around the toilet. The total listed includes electrical work, which was paid separately. They were good at listening to what we wanted in terms of design and taking into consideration our budget and goals, and they provided some sound design advice on arranging and placing tiles.
Description of Work: SunCoast Home Solutions and its workers ripped apart our bathroom down to the joists and studs, discovering some unexpected rotting wood from water damage from a leaking toilet. They removed a new vanity (reinstalled at the end) and a sliding glass door on the shower/tub. After demolition, a double layer of flooring was put down, new cement board and drywall were used, and the workers put in insulation that had not been present in the past. The workers installed new subway tiles, created a niche with small marble tiles and installed new porcelain floor tiles, rehung towel racks, a shelf and installed a new mirror. Prior to work being started, we were given a chance to see a refinished cast iron tub that was refinished at another home where they were working. We provided lights, exhaust fan, shower fixtures and faucets and all tiles and grout. KDP Electric did the electrical work, installing the vanity lights and new fan with light, as well as new switches to control them (they even returned our new but defective exhaust fan with light and exchanged it for a working model). Brown's Plumbing Services, INC had to come three times before and after the reconstruction to install transition connections for 1/2” valve that became 3/4”, install new shower valve and install customer provided new head (that was relocated), and replace the down pipe and flange for toilet. The plumber Ryan also noticed before installation that the new shower hose we purchased was not the chrome finish we intended. Suncoast Home Solutions also arranged for Suncoast Tub Refinishing (no relation) to refinish -- acid wash, epoxy-based primer and several coats of porcelain glaze -- our old cast-iron tub, which may be original to the 1949 house and was in need of repainting or recoating. It looks beautiful and almost new now .

+ 4 moreThe team was prompted and curtious. They tore the old show out down to the stud walls and old floor pan removed. Plumbing was move to center for the new width of the shower. A wall was extended was extended 8 inches to make flush with shower tile line. Durarock and new shower pan installed. New tile on shower wall and floor with tile accent midway up shower wall. Old ceramic towel holders remove and walls patched and new orange peel to blend with wall not affected. While the bathroom shower was being remodeled a cleaning / sealer crew sealed the entire house tile floor. This was approximately a week and half project. SunCoast worked with my schedule which required contraction to being prior labor day. SunCoast complete the project before labor day weekend which was my preference. SunCoast organized the plumber for all plumbing needs. It was nice when I asked the SunCoast team for ideas and opinions they shared their experience of other remodel jobs. This is the first contractor to call me back and follow through with superb work detail and start and finish per my timeline. I will have SunCoast back for other projects. I highly recommend the Contracting group.

Jeff helped us search for an AC repairman to help us in a pinch. Everyone was professional and their work was top quality. I would use them again and they will always be my first call.

Brian Dougherty was out the very next day to give us quote and a demonstration of the techniques and product he uses. We scheduled him for the next week so he could get the work done while we returned home to pack. He kept in great communication and shared "before" and "after" photos with us via email the same day. We are thrilled with the results, his professionalism and would highly recommend him to anyone considering refurbishing their tile.

Description of Work: Jeff (the owner) assigned a plaster/painter to repair plaster and paint the interior of our house. Although the price seemed high it had to include his cost as well as the painter. The painter we had, Tim Westgate, did an excellent job and we have high standards. Originally we only planned to do three rooms in our newly purchased home. Jeff suggested that we consider doing the whole house because the other rooms also had plaster and paint problems. I was uncomfortable about spending that much money but the entire house really needed it and it all looks wonderful now. Jeff was very responsive and oversaw the entire job. I can't evaluate anyone other than the person who handled our job. Tim was very polite and helpful, prompt and reliable and great to have working in our house. And his work was outstanding with attention paid to the smallest detail

Jeff came out to survey the situation, and offered recommendations (also looked at another potential problem, while here). Not only did he spend the time to explain the process and solutions to me, but he also called my husband so we could all be on the same page. After receiving several estimates of work, and some negotiating on the services we would need, Jeff and Suncoast provided the most comprehensive and price effective solution. We also chose Suncoast based on Angie's List ratings, and were SO GLAD we did!!! Original timeframe for work was weeks out, but they were able to arrive within days---we were pleasantly surprised!!! Rob did the actual work, and was nothing but considerate and professional. He kept us "in the know" throughout the experience...always making sure we were happy with the work performed. + 1 moreJeff Cohn was extremely accommodating and provided excellent service on both sides, meeting my wife and I outside of normal business hours when it was most convenient for us, and being extremely clear, thorough, and informative throughout the engagement. We have never had a major renovation project like a kitchen makeover, and Jeff answered all our 'dumb' questions clearly, thoroughly, and without any kind of attitude. He provided valuable insight and recommendations on how to do smart things to get what we want while still keeping costs under control. He provided an clear, simple, itemized list of what would be each party's responsibilities, should we choose to go forward with the project. The only work we authorized and had executed by Suncoast so far was tile/grout cleaning and repair in our master bathroom, which turned out fine. Suncoast will be on the short list for any future work that we need to have done, and I would highly recommend him and his business for home repair or enhancement work of any kind.

+ 1 moreI purchased an Angie's List special of $199.00 for a handyman for a day. They covered the base of an undersink cabinet with laminate, hung an undercabinet towel holder, closet hook, and inside cabinet door storage trays, etc.. They assembled a large compost tumbler. We had several instances of miscommunication but the owner bent over backwards to be sure those issues were corrected and that I felt I had gotten my money's worth and had nothing else for them to do before they left. These projects were split into 2 days, 3 months apart, partly because of the miscommunication and partly because of my schedule. There was no extra fee for coming out the 2nd day; it was all included in the $199.00 special. I was disappointed they said it would be impossible to modify the kitchen cabinets above my stove for installation of above range microwave. I found someone else to do that (impossible) job.

They were able to schedule someone to come out when it was convenient for us. They have so many different services that they offer, and they sent one of the two owners to the house to give us their opinion of their work and what they sought was most critical to be addressed. The ended up sending someone within a day or two.

+ 1 moreI would probably use them again. They came out and did the job quickly. They came out as soon as I contacted them. They didn't do everything exactly as they said but they left some for me to do but it was faster than I could have done it. It was something that you could've done but they used a product that's not available to the retail and the only thing that was disappointing for me, which had nothing to do with them, is that they left a product for touch up but someone took it. Not everyone is equipped to get a project done in a timely way or do it with the same level of skill and this company will do it and it's a really valuable service.

The floors looked amazingly good when they were finished, and the sealing proved to be of immense value almost immediately as I had the bottom fall out of a grocery bag just a few days later, allowing a bottle of red wine to break and spill onto the floor! If those grout joints hadn't been sealed so well, they'd be permanently red! Instead, the spilled wine was blotted up by paper towels in no time, allowing our white grout to still look pristinely white.
