I called Cleveland's Best Construction and Jeff (the owner) came and looked at the work that same day. We discussed what needed to be done... new bathroom ceiling, kitchen soffit, repair damaged plaster and skimcoat the entire house. He called me within a couple of days with a price which I felt was reasonable for the amount of work. He sent me a written contract and once I accepted he scheduled the work for the following week. His crew showed up on time and worked the next 3 days until the work was completed. Jeff kept in touch with me when I wasn't there. All the guys were friendly and professional. The craftsmanship is excellent and they did a great job of cleaning up! I couldn't be more pleased! And the frosting on the cake.... since I'm new to the area, Jeff got me a gift certificate to one of the area restaurants that he enjoys!

Great drywall and plaster work. I would not recommend their ceiling painting.

We received three estimates all found on Angie's List.We decided to go with CBC because he was prompt with a quote, accessable by phone to answer all questions (if he wasn't able to answer the call - ALWAYS called back within an hour.) Jeff seemed to have the most experience with this type of project. Upon notifying CBC on Tuesday we were going with them, Jeff called Wednesday to see if they could drop the materials on Thursday. CBC began the project Friday morning and was completed before we got home from work that evening. When the price was quoted originally Jeff did warn us that there maybe more damage under the floor than he was able to see at first. He told us there could be an added charge if there was more damage - he quoted worst-case-scenerio to be an extra $250. Jeff found a lot of termite damage under the floor and true to his word there was an extra $250 charge to the original quote. CBC did a great job cleaning up and hauling away leaving our yard spotless.We are very pleased with the work and this contractor. We would highly recommend CBC and use again in the future. P.S. CBC was the ONLY company that added the advertised Angie's List discount to the quote. The other companies were told they were found on Angie's List, but did not add their discount.

We had Jeff look at the damage about a month ago and it appeared relatively minor. At that time Jeff referred us to a contractor that would be better suited to handle a smaller job. After the contractor opened a few boards, it became apparent that the damage was more extensive than originally thought. Jeff came back out within a day and had the job done in a week. We found Jeff to be extremely honest, professional and easy to work with. His work is excellent and we will certainly call him in the future if the need arises.

Jeff and his crew were extremely professional, punctual, and clearly take pride in their work. Jeff listened very carefully and asked a lot of questions to make sure his quote was exactly what I wanted. He was very easy to work with, I appreciated that he emailed the quote and promptly answered any questions that I had. The front porch is exactly as specified and built very well, and I'm also pleased with the attention they put into the aesthetics of the front of house repairs. It was clear they wanted the work to look right and last.

The bathroom in a rental property I recently bought was in horrible condition. It was tiny, dark and badly laid out. Jeff and his crew did a great job on the demo and rehab. They were quick and very easy to work with. We were very pleased with the quality of the work, especially the tile work. We will definitely hire them again.

Overall, Jeff and his crew were outstanding!! Back in March 2012, my flat roof above my one-story family room extension began leaking causing ceiling damage in the family room. I had the flat roof replaced at the end of March but delayed having the ceiling repaired until I had confirmed the new roof was watertight. However, in late May 2012, carpenter ants "invaded" the corner of my family room where the most extensive water damage had occurred. An exterminator killed the bulk of the ants but I knew I had to have the ceiling removed as soon as possible to verify correction of the ant problem. Jeff promptly returned my initial phone call and was out in less than 24 hours to inspect the ceiling. Considering my desire for rapid rectification, Jeff was able to begin the ceiling replacement project within just a few days. The CBC crew was very professional and took the time to explain exactly what they were doing throughout the entire project. All in all, the project was completed within 6 days of my initial contact with Jeff. The new ceiling is absolutely beautiful! During the project, Jeff and his crew even corrected a wiring problem for my ceiling fan which was discovered when removing the old ceiling. In addition, Jeff purchased and installed a fan brace to properly mount the ceiling fan in the new ceiling. The crew even touched up the paint job around my window trim to allow the newly installed and painted crown molding to match the trim in the room! I really can't say enough about CBC -- the finished product was much better than I had anticipated and the service was outstanding. I'll be calling Jeff in the future with additional home remodeling projects!

I looked at several contractors before choosing CBC. I definitely made the right decision. I was so happy with Jeff and his crew. I am quite the perfectionist & Jeff is too. I had purchased a mirror I asked Jeff to hang. He noticed a few scratches a imperfections on the mirror that I hadn't even noticed. I returned the mirror & he came out hung the replacement mirror for me. The bathroom turned out beautiful! I couldn't be happier. I will definitely use CBC again.

Have you ever wanted to hug your contractor? Well, I did on the last day Jeff was here! This was my first experience with a contractor and I could not be more pleased with Jeff and all the guys at Cleveland's Best Construction! From the beginning planning stages to the end result, including more than a dozen emails and countless phone calls from me asking questions along the way, Jeff went above and beyond my expectations to make sure I was happy and comfortable throughout the entire process. Brian and Brett were at my house every day at 8:00 am and often wouldn't leave until after 5:00 pm. They were open to every question and concern I had, and completely comfortable with me sometimes standing in the doorway watching how certain things got done. They cleaned up after themselves every day and did their best to leave the kitchen as liveable as possible even during the days where they tore out the cabinets and worked to repair my old, cracked plaster walls.Everything went exactly according to plan (even when I changed the plan a few times) and Jeff and the guys were great about working around my schedule. The part of the remodel that took the longest was waiting for my floating shelves to be delivered and for the countertops to be installed so that they could come back and finalize everything.I definitely recommend Cleveland's Best Construction for any remodeling project; I plan on contacting Jeff soon to remodel my first floor bathroom! I was very happy with the work. The price was fair for the amount of work performed. They showed up when they said they would and work was completed in the amount of time they said it would take. I would definitely use them again.

The job was too small for Jeff, but he was very professional and referred us to someone that's able to complete the job.

We live in the Washington, D.C. area, however, my wife and I found a 90-year old Tudor home that was for sale in Hudson Ohio while visiting her family there, in which we made an offer on. Upon the sellers acceptance of our offer we had a home inspection done. The overall inspection conveyed that the home needed considerable work. The fact that we're not living in the Cleveland area, makes it difficult to get things done over the phone, however, we still needed to find a contractor to go out and give us a fair and realistic estimate. Unfortunately, by the time the home inspection was completed we were running out of time to find someone to do the estimate due to the contractual obligations. While researching Angie's List, we found Jeff Cohn of Cleveland's Best Construction LLC and called him/them due to them having the best rating for the Cleveland area. I called Jeff and left a message, somewhat in desperation. Within two hours, Jeff called me back while on a job site. Additionally, he spent nearly half-hour on the phone with me, explaining the do's and don't of buying a home in the Ohio area, i.e. weather etc. He asked that I send him the 49-page home inspection report so he could review it that evening after work. Although he had several jobs going on, he altered his schedule to accomodate the seller's time frame. He arrived promptly at the time promised to meet with the seller and their agent. After his inspection, he called both my wife and I, and again, while traveling to another job site, spent another 1/2 hour consulting with us and going into great detail what the issues were with the home. The next day, we received and full written estimate. In my lifetime, I've dealt with hundreds, if not thousands of service providers in various business sectors for personal and business reasons. Typically, one needs to be cautious, because everyone is out to make as much as they can, and many times, there is little regard for the consumer. Jeff could have easily gone along with the home inspection and quoted us whatever he thought he could get. Instead, Jeff was honest, credible and ethical, (a refreshing change), and gave us an estimate that was surprisingly reasonable and far below what we expected, and even stated that the job might be too small for him, but we were welcome to use his estimate as a starting point regardless of who we picked as a contractor. He charged us no fee for the estimate. There is no doubt, Jeff Cohn and Cleveland's Best Construction is a contractor that is "best in class" who can be trusted and relied upon...a refreshing change for sure. My boyfriend's mom had a major back up of raw sewage in one of the drain's in her basement. Her home began to smell and the toilet and bath tub started to overflow. Roto Rooter gave her an estimate of $5800 to snake the drain. She didn't have the money and was desperate to get this problem fixed. She asked if I knew anyone so I told her about Jeff. Just weeks earlier he and his crew installed a french drain in my back yard and the results were great! On short notice, Jeff was able to fix the job within 2 days for $500. Awesome job Jeff....thanks again!!

The experience exceeded our expectations in every way: Jeff met with us on multiple occasions to gauge our needs and directed us to excellent resources for each product category (tile choices, countertops, flooring, etc.). CBC's estimate was clear and very reasonable and work began 2 days after we accepted the proposal. The job progressed very quickly: a total of 3 weeks from start to finish with no disruption in our lives. They always arrived on time, exactly when they said they would and were accessible any time of day for questions. At the end of each day, the workers cleaned up and left the kitchen cleaner than they found it. They found creative solutions to every problem we encountered-excellent design sense, which is rare. CBC was willing to readjust schedules and make any changes to make sure we were happy. They finished on budget and the results are amazing: looks like we spent at least twice as much for our new kitchen. Looking forward to working with them again!

After getting 3 quotes, I went with Jeff, CBC Construction. He was always prompt and very reliable. He arrived when he said he would & never late to the job. We were very pleased with the work and end results of the project. The crew was very professional and courteous. They showed up each day promptly and completed their work in a timely manner. Not only did they complete the work we requested but they also provided several suggestions about our remodeling process. On time start and an almost seamless execution (the old fireplace facade and hearth needed to be removed instead of being refaced). The crew was courteous and punctional and most importantly they were professionals. I felt at all times like I was a member of the team. I was consulted for all decisions that needed to be made and if I couldn't decide, recommendations were offered in a positive and constructive manner. The job went amazingly fast! My wife and I are very happy with the finished result.

The tile work was completeled in a timely manner. Dedicated tile guy was professional and very skilled. We are very happy with final results.

I started the project several months prior before realizing I was in for a lot more work than I wanted to take on (after recently finishing another project). I called Jeff and he came out that day. From then on he was never a minute late to a meeting. This project involved a large variation of work and we spent the next few months ironing out all the details. All the prep work paid off and when I finally gave the green light to start he was in and out in 3 days. My wife who was at home with our kids said that Jeff and his crew were always professional. My only complaint was that there was some dried glue and paint on the new flooring, as well as some black scuff marks that were not coming off with a wet rag. I called Jeff and he said he would come out to clean it that day (despite a snow storm), but when I found out he was just going to use Goo Gone, I told him I would get some myself. It cleaned everything off the floor easily. We definitely plan to hire Cleveland's Best again.

I would highly recommend Jeff Cohn to do any type of work in my home. He took the time to come to my home to inspect the damage and explain to my wife and I the work that he would perform and the time that it would take to complete the job. Even though I "dragged my feet" about calling him back to schedule a time to start the job, he was very unintrusive in the way that he contacted me to let me know the dates that he would get started. He was extremely professional and an excellent communicator. Jeff exceeded our expectations in every way. He applied two coats of primer on the ceiling. He was very neat and left the kitchen cleaner than it was when he came (very important to wives). He even finished the job an hour earlier than we expected. The QUALITY of the work was outstanding. If you appreciate honesty, integrity and a human being that cares about his reputation (very rare these days) contact Jeff at CBC.

Overall, went as expected. Jeff did not want to get involved in trying to correct an issue that someone else created. Can't say as I blame him, but I am still in search of finding a contractor that can come and rip out the door and install it properly for a fair price. My search continues.
