A & S Appliance Repair

Art quickly diagnosed the issue on our 2007 Whirlpool Duet washing machine based on my telephone description of the problem. He quoted me a price for the part needed and explained it would need to be ordered. The repair visit was promptly scheduled for the day following arrival of the part. When he arrived, Art explained each step of his repair, showed me the damaged control board and quickly installed the new motor control unit. The washer was back to operating condition within 30 minutes of his arrival. This is the second time we've called Art on a large appliance issue (other item was dryer in 2013). Art is professional and personable. We'll call him whenever we need a future large appliance repair!

Art explained as he was going and unlike other repair shops I've dealt with (well you're going to need a new condenser), Art said "here's the problem, needs a new starter switch ($60)". Probably the most honest repair guy I've met. Good to be reminded that there is still some with an A+ work ethic.

The dryer would run but would not dry, I told him I had thought it was the heating element. Turned out it had something to do with the timers. Instead of just telling us that I was wrong, Art took the time to explain everything to both my husband and I. He also gave us a few tips on how the newer washer and dryers can be a mint to fix. He did a great job and was a super person

Art was very quick to respond to my inquiry. We communicated primarily by texting and fixed the date of the service right away. Very professional and courteous. He repaired the door with no problem.

The technician diagnosed and repaired slow water flow from in door water dispenser. He explained what he was doing as he did it. He was fast and professional. He had given us some diagnostic instructions over the phone, but it ended up needing a part. Appreciated his attempt to save us the expense of a service visit.

I came home on 7/22 at around 6pm and noticed my fridge was not cooling and the stuff on the top of my freezer was almost completely defrosted. I immediate called the repair company that worked on my fridge before but they don't work after 5pm. So I logged into Angie's List next to frantically find another repair company of good standing with longer hours. I must have called 7 different companies but had no luck with them coming out that evening. Even though no one was able to come out, Art from A & S Appliance Repair called me back and after asking me a few questions, explained to me how to fix my problem in the meantime until he could get someone out to me first thing in the morning and even gave me an estimate of how much it would cost to fix. Although he gave me a temporary fix, I decided not to touch the fridge and I got some blocks of dry ice for both the fridge and the freezer to keep everything really cold until the morning. At 8am the following morning, an A & S Appliance Repair technician named Gabriel called me and said he would arrive in approximately 30 minutes. Gabriel was on time, very knowledgeable, professional, and extremely courteous. He answered all my questions and gave me sound advice. He diagnosed the problem quickly as being a heating (defroster) problem and needed to replace the defrost thermostat and/or the heater element but did not have the parts readily available on his truck. This was not a big deal to me since my fridge is a very old model and techs can't carry every part on their vehicles. He immediately made a phone call, found the parts needed, and told me he could pick up the parts and be back later this afternoon between 3 and 5pm since he had another appt in Lakeland before he could get to the parts shop in Tampa which was fine with me since he got the fridge to cool temporarily until the afternoon. Gabriel later called me and said he could come a couple hours earlier due to a cancellation. He came back about 1:30pm and had 2 different parts. He decided to try the thermostat first (the least expensive part) and he knew, as soon as he took the old part off, that it was the problem. Once the thermostat was installed he tested to make sure the heating element still worked instead of automatically replacing that too. IT WORKED! I really appreciated his honesty because I have had techs for other repairs who would replace something that wasn't broken and charge me for it. So this job that would have cost me $200 dollars or more, only ended up being about $101 + Tax. All in all, this was a great experience and my fridge is cooling again. This company does honest work and their prices are VERY reasonable. And because of this experience, I will also use them to replace my garbage disposal. Art was the best appliance repair man I have ever encountered. I called him on a Friday and he responded to my call the same day. He first tried to fix the problem over the phone by giving me some simple instructions just in case it didn't need a full repair. (integrity!) Then he came over at the end of his day, ordered the needed part and had it fixed by the following Tuesday. He was very professional, thorough, and just a nice person to be around. I would recommend him highly!

He was able to come out the same day I called which was a great start! He arrived on time, tested all the fridge parts and came to the conclusion that it needed a new drier/relay and compressor. He ordered the compressor which came in a couple days later. He came that day to install which required welding old part off and new part on. He put fridge back into cabinet space and cleaned up after his work. When the new part failed the next day, he came right out to test it and found it to be a manufacturing problem with the compressor. He reordered and installed the new part for no extra charge. I really appreciated that he took the time to explain what he was doing as he worked so I would understand. He was very honest and patient with me. I would highly recommend him to anyone and will definitely call him for any future service needs.

He arrived on time. Finished the work in less than a half hour. Went over what needed to be done so the problem did not happen again.

Art diagnosed the problem by phone, ordered the new computer, but came by to check that it was really needed. It was, and he installed the new part the following day. He was on-time, professional, courteous and friendly. I'll call him again when needed.

My Double ovens are 15 years old. I use the top oven the most as it is more convenient for my height when removing items. The oven was no longer browning evenly and was taking a long time to heat and cook. Turkeys would take almost 2 hours longer than estimated cooking time based on weight. Scones and French fries would cook well on the left side of the oven. Naturally, my microwave the buzzed and stop working, so I asked his to look at it also. No problem. Called promptly, made appointment, arrived on time, professional and organized evaluations. Recalibrated my oven, checked temperatures with thermometer's. Cleaned after themselves, no messes. Oven works beautifully. He then tested the microwave, which was not repairable. He offered to help find a replacement and install. He was not pushy nor did he insist on his services. In and out in no time. Efficient.

Installation went very well. We were also given instructions on how to open and close the refrigerator doors to try to make the new gaskets last longer. Who knew there was a preferred way to open and close the doors. Friendly and quick service. Feel he is very honest in that he didn't come to the house and charge us for a service call, just to get the model number for the gaskets. This was handled all before he even came to the house.

The staff was very professional and knowledgable and was able to diagnose the problem over the phone. They showed up with the part and had the washing machine fixed in about 30 minutes. The machine works perfectly now, the service was wonderful.

He diagnosed the problem as a bad computer board. He ordered the part, it came in the next day and he installed it that day. My dryer works great again. Much cheaper than buying a new dryer! Art was great to work with and went out of his way to make sure it was done right.

Art diagnosed the problem with our washer over the phone was able to do the repair when he came to our house. The repair took less than 15 minutes and he was careful to show me how the part was installed in case it breaks again and we want to do the repair ourselves! He was professional, courteous and quick to respond. I will definitely contact him if we have any other problems.

Art came the day after I called. It was too late to order my part that day, so he ordered it the next day. On the third day he came back and put the part on my machine. He charged me only one trip charge of $80 plus the price of the part. He was in and out in minutes and the machine no longer leaks. I would not hesitate to call him again.

Called to set up appointment. Clearly left my phone number twice on voice mail. It's been 4 days and no call back.

Art was what you would hope for in a repair person. He was accurate, quick, friendly, and trustworthy! We scheduled for him to come on Monday but he was concerned about us going a whole weekend without our dryer. He came on Friday and fixed it within a half-an-hour!

I looked on Angie's List for someone to fix my gas dryer and ice maker on 3/10. After reading reviews, I decided to call A & S Appliance Repair. Art returned my call within a few minutes to set up the appointment. Art said he could come on the 11th or 12th. I chose 3/12. I gave him my information and he told me a time frame he would arrive. On the 12th Art called me when he was on his way, and it was in the time frame he had told me. When Art arrived he introduced himself and was freindly. He took my dryer apart tested some parts, and was able to fix it. He then checked my ice maker, found the problem right away, and also showed it to me. Art replaced it with a new one , tested it to be sure it was working properly and was done with both repairs in a very reasonable time. I was pleasantly surprised at the price! I would defiantly use this service again if I am ever in need. I will also recommend A & S Appliance Repair to my friends and family! Art was kind, friendly and very professional!
