Terminix - Tampa -Termite & Pest Control

Description of Work: We have yearly contracts for sub and airborne termites as well as pest control. The technicians are almost always exceptional in service, professionalism and punctual. The office is lacking however. Using their automated system is a joke, errors on our bills, i feel like no one on the office knows (or cares) what's going on. We stay with them for several reasons, the cost of initial treatment to switch companies, they respond quickly, the personnel who show up are almost always great....and our contact was written when they offered a replacement guarantee on any new termite damage. I would recommend them if you are willing to keep an eye on your bills and stay on top of what should be done. This year we paid for both termite contacts but got only a cursory inspection. Still superior tho most companies we had experience with prior to hiring them many years ago.

Description of Work: have used Terminix for years. Always do a good job with perimeter control. Call if we need to schedule interior service. They call day or two in advance to let us know they are coming.

Description of Work: The quality of the work is excellent. The problem is the company has a new national call center to schedule service. There is absolutely no cooperation with the local company. Service techs have shown up at our house when not requested and vice versa. They should return to local call center.

Description of Work: Outside pest control. Went very well. Service was on time and did very good job. A have annual termite control plan. I do have a question. If pay annually, does the inside and outside pest control come under the annual plan or must it be paid as work is accomplished on a quarterly basis?

Description of Work: I have had an annual plan with Terminix since I bought my house in 2001. Throughout the years, I have had problems with Terminix off and on. Several times I had to turn to the Florida Department of Agriculture and Consumer Services for help. But this last experience was the worst ever. | |It started with me calling Terminix because my renters told me that there were termite swarms in my house. The technician came, decided that swarms are normal this time of the year; that this did not mean that the house was infested and left. No treatment, nothing. My renter, who was there when the technician came, asked the technician to call me to report his decision. When I talked to the technician, I told him that this was the fourth year in the row that termites were swarming in the house. He insisted that nothing could be done because he could not find signs of infestation; that the termites must have come into the house from the outside through tiny cracks; and that there was no need for treatment. | |I called the national line to complain. The representative I talked to couldn't have cared less. She told me that she would have to leave a message for the manager of the Largo branch. I told her that I needed this handled; I even told her that I was going to file a complaint with the Florida Department of Agriculture and Consumer Services. She did not care at all. | |Well, the call to the Florida Department of Agriculture and Consumer Services worked. As soon as the gentleman from that department became involved, things started happening. The manager of the Largo branch met with me in the house and looked at the evidence. He agreed the house needed to be tented. He made a point out of letting me know that Terminix needed to educate my renters about the procedure and that my renters would have to fill out paperwork. He left a copy of the paperwork for my file. I asked him to deal with my renters asap, because I was leaving town and needed to be assured that everything was okay. He promised he would do that. Since I had his cell number at that point, I even texted him a reminder before leaving town. | |Fast-forward. The house was supposed to be tented on August 12. By Friday, August 8th, my renters still had not been contacted by Terminix. So my renter called Terminix (I was still out of town). He was told that a message would have to be left for the Largo branch. The Largo branch contacted him on Monday, August 11 for an appointment to prepare him for the tenting next day. I guess Terminix expects its customers to drop everything and jump whenever Terminix is available to fulfill its contractual obligations. | |The house was tented on August 12 as planned. My renters called me in the evening of August 14 to ask if I had heard from Terminix about when they would be able to move in. Terminix had told them that they would be contacted around lunch on the 14th to get clearance. Nobody had contacted them. I had to call the branch office yet again. And yet again, nobody answered. My tenants found out late that evening that they could move back in. | |This whole incident was ridiculous. I have never dealt with a company who seemed to care less about its customers. | |BTW, did I mention that I am trying to call Terminix right now? Well, I have been on hold for almost 34 minutes by now. I think I am going to hang up; I am getting really tired of dealing with this company. | |Do yourself a favor and stay away from this company.

Description of Work: The actual service people are always very professional, but the service is excessively expensive for the 15 minutes per quarter that they are here. A year or so ago I had a lot of problems with them calling about appointments that never occurred while I would wait at home for them all day. The website was inadequate because I had both regular pest protection and termite protection, but could not view both services on my account. I have since canceled the termite protection and will be canceling the regular pest protection when I find another service.

Description of Work: Drywood Termite Treatment Plan and as usual everything went fine. They are always on time and very professional in all their dealings with us.

Description of Work: We use Terminex for lawn care, pest control, and termite prevention. Their service techs put us at ease with their knowledge, care and professional friendliness. The products do the job and would anything arise, they are quick to respond.

Description of Work: Read their contracts very carefully. There are very many escape clauses that give them the right to refuse service or interpret service as they wish to their own benefit.

Description of Work: My technician is so kind, sweet and thorough. It was a spontaneously planned visit after I saw his truck in the neighborhood.

Description of Work: I signed a yearly contract with them for extermination services. I have no problems since I started using them. Big difference from the last company I used and they cost less.

Description of Work: After moving into our condo and unable to get rid of a bug problem on our own, we called Terminix and they were able to clear everything within just two trips over the course of one week. We did have to sign up for their annual contract, in which they come out quarterly, more often if you need them, but considering what we were dealing with, we weren't opposed to the idea. We should have called them the first day, they made everything better. The only thing that we were aggravated with was when we made the appointment, the customer service rep told us to prepare for the appointment by unloading EVERYTHING from our kitchen cabinets/pantry/countertops, as well as bathroom cabinets/countertops, and also to move out our refrigerator and stove from the wall, and cover all with towels/sheets. When the tech came here he was confused as to why we had done so, told us it wasn't necessary at all, so that was a waste of time.

Description of Work: I used Terminix in May for just general pest control service. They come every three months unless I need them more often. They spray around the outside of the house and then they come inside and sprayed inside.
