+ 0 moreOur hot water had stopped working. Being in a panic, we called Roto Rooter to fix the issue. First thing that hurt was a $85.00 fee just to come out.... but we were desperate and figured it would come off the bill in the end. After they came out, they stated it would be nearly $600 to replace both thermostats and heating elements. Not knowing much on these items, we moronically paid. Once the job was complete, I spoke with other plumbers in the area on what we had done only to be told “are you nuts!? Those parts only total out to $70 tops!”. Once they stated, and explained, how easy they are to install, I felt beyond taken by this crooked company. Never again will I fall to such deception without thoroughly doing my research.

+ 0 moreI had called the the Friday before, They told me they can come over tomorrow and the next day I called them to ask if they could come over sooner in the day so the house would be ready to be shown for sell. The person on the phone worked with me and had someone come over sooner. They came over and worked wonders on this nightmare of a faucet . The person was professional and work steady to be sure it was done in time. I waited to write the review to see how well it would hold up. It has been 3 weeks and no problems. I would recommend Roto-Rooter for my next repair.

+ -1 more7;30 on a Sunday morning Carey answered the phone as if he was waiting for my call. Not much later he appeared at my doorstep in Poinciana,1 hour away from his home, to diagnosis and repair the blocked sewer line. He professionally informed me of the problem, short and long term pro's and con's of solution. He then provided an estimate, both for cost and time frame to repair the problem. Carey kept us informed of his progress; showed us the damage at various times; and joined us for lunch. Early Sunday service with no surcharge and a personable and pleasant repair person.
Description of Work: Diagnosed blocked sewer line in minutes and identified the location and depth a few minutes later. He immediately began repairing the problem.

+ 1 moreThe work was incredible! Ronnie, the technician ordered a new water heater on 4/24/14, and he replaced it the next day, arriving promptly in the morning of 4/25/14. He and his manager took out the old water heater, replaced with a brand new one, repaired the old pipe fittings, and checked that there were no leaks from the roof. He completely checked out the new system, which operated perfectly, and took the time to give us complete instructions on the proper operation and care of the system. He was one of the best and professional repairman we have ever worked with, and would not hesitate to call on his services again.
Description of Work: We called Roto-Rooter to repair what we thought was a leaking pipe in our water heater. The technician found that there was a crack in the water heater that was sending water through the garage and the living room wall. He recommended that the water heater needed to be replaced and also recommended that we contact out home owners insurance company and Restorations Unlimited, a company to dry out the affected areas.

Description of Work: He used an electric snake to clear the lines from the kitchen sink. I was a taken aback by the high charge of $284. to use a snake. I had a coupon from the internet to take $10.00 off, which helped a tiny bit.

+ 0 moreWe just recently had some electrical work done on our house. The electrician found bare wires exiting the house across the concrete pad of the back stoop. We were told that it was a fire hazard and strictly against regulations. We called Roto Rooter to fix the situation and they were really nasty about the whole situation. We were told that we signed off on the septic when it was finished and they weren't liable for anything else! I told them that I would be calling county enforcement to complain about their work and the man accused me of threatening him. I have since called the county enforcement and they are investigating them. This was a horrible experience and all other BUYERS BEWARE!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Description of Work: We started having septic problems during the holidays of December 2010. We had our drain field replaced in 2003 by Roto Rooter, when I called the South Combee office I didn't realize that we had used the West Lakeland Roto Rooter. One of the service techs came out and pumped our septic tank- we were told that the tank wasn't draining into the drain field. We had someone come out the first week in January and told us that the drain field was bad- the drain field was dead as of 7 years almost to the day! We were given an estimate of $4500-5000 for it to be replaced. They had a county inspector (this took 2 weeks to have happen!) come out and we were told that the septic tank no longer met current regulations and would have to be replaced. We were also told that they would have to install a sump pump because there wasn't enough drop from the exit at the house to have it flow into the septic tank. Our cost was now going to be $6700. I gave them $600 so they could continue to pump the septic systematically until the drain field could be installed. We finally had a operating septic system by 1/28/11. What a miserable month- we literally had to wash our dishes in the back yard and take 5 minute showers. They took a month to get everything working!

We were told that we would have an additional $1700 dollars added to the cost for a sump pump to pump the waste into the tank because there wasn't enough drop from the exit out of the house to the tank. The tank had to be replaced because it didn't meet the current regulations. It was the end of January before we finally had an operational septic system. We recently had some electrical work done on our home and were told that there were bare wires running out of the house to the sump pump for the septic tank- this is strictly a fire hazard and against regulations. We called Roto-Rooter to fix the problem and were told that we signed off on the drainfield and septic and they didn't intend to do anything! We called the county regulatory office to report the violation to them. We are still waiting for their error to be repaired as I write this. We will probably be required to pay even more money because they did such a crappy job. Beware of working with this company!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Description of Work: During the Christmas holidays of 2010 we had a septic back-up and called Roto-Rooter. We had used them to put in the first drainfield we had installed in 2003. I mistakenly called the Roto-Rooter in East Lakeland instead of the one we originally used in West Lakeland. The man who came pumped out our septic tank and told us that the drain field was shot. I showed them the original contract when they replaced the drain field 7 years earlier- almost to the day. We were told that someone would get back with us. It was the middle of January before we could even get them to work on the drainfield. We literally had to call every couple of days to get them to pump the tank.
