Rodney Weeks Construction

paid 425 down 1/2 of price on contract, no permit drawn and 4 months later when I asked for refund he wants me to pay for special order window he cant produce , or says he will sell it and send me difference, window costs 600 I paid 425 down but wants me to pay 300 more for window. ALso says he did not charge for a permit but state of Fl law says that if they ask for more than 10% down a permit has to be drawn within 30 days and work began by 90 day and we are now at 4 months

this guy signed a contract to repair our roof and do some remodeling for $12,500; we gave him $5,000 retainer. He waited a week before sending a guy out, they worked about 10 hours repairing a 3 step staircase and hanging some drywall; then Weeks demanded an additional $7,500 in cash to perform under the contract. We refused. he had never pulled any permit, was NOT able to do roof work and then he tried to blackmail us to pay the additional $7,500, in cash, for work already in the contract for $12,500! We now have to take him to court to get our retainer. Weeks has 20 cases already filed in Polk county, alone! we did not bother to check the other counties............. JUST BE SURE NOT TO GIVE THIS GUY MONEY... looking at his record (now, even though we should have checked more before hiring him), he makes a living by scamming, not doing.
