Start Moving was great from the moment I purchased the Angie's list deal until the moment the movers finished the job. The company was great at communicating and was able to accommodate my moving schedule. On moving day, Justin and Roland arrived on time and immediately started working. They were able to move two large items that were in a tight fitting upstairs room with ease. The handed our property gently and wrapped it on the truck for the two mile move. Once at our new house Justin and Roland took the same care with getting the items into our house. They ere able to finish the job in three hours. There were no surprise extra fees or service charges. These guys made moving these items a pleasure. I highly recommend Start Moving. Justin and Roland were the best. Great job

This was a great team. Whenever you pay by the hour it is easy to think that the crew will just "drop anchor" and run up the bill, not the case with this crew. These three guys worked fast, gave us an estimate upfront that was "spot on" and well done.

The move went better than i could have ever hoped for thanks to Tim and Tony. They were professional, friendly, calm, pleasant, low-key, happy, hard working, appropriately compassionate (when one of my locations had water-damaged my possessions), quick, but extremely careful, accurate in all the time estimates they gave us. I really can't say enough good things about them. I got 12 quotes and Start Moving also gave me the lowest quote. . The quote was all-inclusive (except for wardrobe boxes that they brought with them at my request). They even had extra boxes with them of which i used a few and they didn't charge me. There were NO extra charges and everything I read on the internet said to beware of "extra charges". There were none. They did everything they said they would do, included in the original price i was quoted. They asked me any questions they needed to give me an accurate quote. They were quick to answer any of my questions before the move. They have many pluses and i'm sure i've left out some, but, for me, I feel fortunate to have found these guys!!!! When we needed extra time because of the water damage, i felt like they really cared and they even signed the form as witnesses to the water damage.

They did a fabulous job. I could not be more pleased. Randy was polite, prompt and always checking on things. The men worked very hard and went above and beyond my expectations. The care they treated our belongings with were wonderful. They even held everything in air conditioned storage for us for a few weeks. I would recommend them over and over.

I contacted Smart Move after reading about them on Angie's List and purchasing a deal. They responded immediately and set up a move date that was coming up very quickly. I had to change the moving date twice due to my home closing complications and Randy was very calm and understanding about it. They changed the date each time with no problem whatsoever. On the day of the move, the two-man crew showed up on time with an appropriate sized truck and began work immediately. As anticipated, the move lasted much longer than the deal I had purchased, but they calculated the time honestly and without any time added for breaks or extras. The guys were really nice and easygoing throughout the whole process.

Move was in Lakeland, Fl. Rain was predicted for 3 days. I have access to my friends open trailer but we needed a covered truck. Called various truck rental vendors they were all out of trucks. Called other moving services and they wanted more notice or they did not work on Sunday. Got SMART MOVE 3517 Duff Rd. Lakeland Fl. 863.397.0047 company ratings from Angieslist.com. They made the grade so I called not expecting very much. Just needed a covered truck because of the rain. Called and spoke to the scheduler Heather a sweet young women who explained the price structure and services such as packing, wrapping and number of movers one might need. There was all ready four of us so we really didn't need a mover. Of course a mover drives the truck so I requested one mover and one covered truck. There was a time window of 1:00 P.M. to 3:00 P.M. which was a small reasonable window considering the short notice and other moves they were making before ours. Smart Move showed up at 2:00 P.M. with two movers because the previous customer requested two movers. When I said I had requested only one mover they said I would only be charged for one as my phone contract with Heather stated. Two young polite men helped us move in the rain taking excellent care of our furniture. The movers were clean cut young men anyone would feel comfortable with. I learned something bumping into SMART MOVE. One can rent a truck for $100.00 plus and drive it yourself or call SMART MOVE and have them do it for you 100%. In our case it was a pleasant professional experience. Thanks SMART MOVE.

We paid a little bit extra to have four guys do the move, which made it go by much faster (within three and a half hours) and were able to finish before the heavy rain started. They showed up when they said they would and came right in to get to work. They were very polite and it was a pleasant experience.

It went very, very well. They kept in close communication throughout. They quoted us on the cost per hour and for the truck. It was $45/hour for each man plus $150 for the truck which included the fuel and all the pads, dollies, shrink wrap and stuff. They told us it would take about 4-6 hours to move a 3/2 home. However, I broke my wrist several weeks before the move and simply would not be able to contribute at all. When I informed them that that would make the move longer/harder their response was, "We hope you heal well. Do not worry about anything. We will make several trips if needed. We are ready to help you complete your move no matter what." And that is just what happened! On the morning of the move, Brandon called about 45 minutes before to let us know they were on their way. Four young men arrived in their big truck, positioned the truck after surveying the driveway and introduced themselves with handshakes. They were polite and well kept. They were all just great guys. They surveyed our stuff, started the clock and away they went. They were respectful of our property and wrapped things correctly. They moved us without a scratch or insult to the new paint in our new home or to our furniture. They were accommodating on placement (and sometimes repositioning) of our furniture. They took a half hour lunch break and did not charge us. It took TEN HOURS for our move. Not because of them though! It was us. We simply have too much stuff. I didn't realize how much stuff we have! Throughout this there was never a word of disdain from the crew. They kept telling us "not to worry about it at all." They worked and worked until the job was done to our satisfaction. They were awesome! Another reviewer stated this next comment and I must say it really made an impact on us and that was this: There was never a cross word between the movers, never a frustration toward each other, never a single sentiment out of them that they were anything less than great friends. My wife and I would have felt any tension on this job and there was none. Zero. Zip. It was a totally stress free, comfortable day for us throughout. I would strongly, strongly urge you to employ Smart Move for your move. I could not stress my satisfaction enough. We are very, very pleased with them and will use them in the future if we need them.

This was the best move ever! I got estimates from six companies and Smart Move came in right around the middle. I sent pictures and a spreadsheet listing the items at each of the two places. They correctly told me that I would fill up a 26' truck and gave me a solid price. I liked that they did not go by weight. They were completely transparent and there were no hidden miscellaneous surprise costs. They made courtesy calls a few days ahead of the move and the day of the move to be sure things would go smoothly. Three young men showed up to load the storage unit. They were polite, very professional, and never said a cross word to each other. My furniture was taped, boxed, wrapped very carefully, and carefully carried to the truck. They did not damage one piece! They proceeded to the house and followed the same procedure. They worked the entire time, and packed the truck so tight that I felt certain nothing could have moved an inch during transit. Very impressive work! At the new location, they arrived and went right to work. This crew was made up of the young man who was in charge of my move and two local movers. They demonstrated the same professionalism and worked nicely together. They went over and above their responsibility several times and helped me get every piece of furniture and every box just where I wanted it. They carefully put my bed together and even centered it where it was going. After everything was complete the man in charge went room by room with me to be sure I was happy with everything and every piece of furniture and every box was just right before he left. Wonderful! You cannot go wrong with this company. I would definitely ask them to move me again. The price was fair and was not changed. They were worth every penny. They were polite not only to me but also to each other. They worked carefully, hardly taking a minute to rest. This is an honest company. I have moved many times, and have some large pieces of furniture and some expensive pieces. There was not one added scratch on anything. I cannot say enough nice things about my experience. Movers showed up on date & time given. Took great care packing their truck and treated our items like they were their own. Movers were polite, efficient, hard working, and clean cut. Property arrived on time to storage unit. Did a good job loading materials into storage unit so we can pull out our property as needed. We asked to have certain items left in the front in the front of the storage unit and they did. The previous year we used a national moving company that charged us $2,000 to move the exact same items to Orlando. The previous experience was miserable. Smart Move proved their are honest people in the moving business. *Most of our property is in storage and has not been inspected.

Smart Move was wonderful to work with. They quoted me that the move would take an estimated 3-5 hours, however it took almost 6 hours to complete the move due to some bulky/heavy furniture. They were scheduled to arrive around 1pm and arrived closer to 1:30p which actually worked out fine as the housecleaner was just finishing up around 1:30p. The longest part was loading the truck and once they were on the road and got the new house, unloading took no time at all. They were very careful during the move, however afterwards, I have noticed my leather couch is scraped at a small area on the top and I also have a few new scratches on my wardrobe but these are cosmetic. As a whole they did an awesome job and didn't scrape up the walls. The two guys hustled and worked very hard and overall we were very pleased with the move. They also worked with me to schedule the move later in the day as I was having to juggle multiple appointments.

My overall experience with them was great except that they get really tied up in traffic, and it took them a little longer so they called me.

My husband was moving from a one bedroom/den apartment in Lakeland back to the family home in Texas. I had 2 estimates from movers in Lakeland, as well as a U-Haul truck reserved. The Smart Move price was very reasonable, and included packing the truck, driving to Texas, and unloading. Since the apartment was on the 3rd floor of the building, this was not an easy move, even though there was not a tremendous amount of furniture. On the day of the move, Randy (from Smart Move) and 2 other gentlemen were very punctual, careful and courteous. They wrapped all the furniture in pads, and secured everything that was not in a box with shrink wrap. They were very accommodating and willing to help with anything we asked. Tim (from Smart Move) drove the truck to Texas and arrived at the time he said he would, 3 days later. He hired a local mover to help, and it was all done in 2 hours. Nothing scratched or broken, as far as I know. They were even willing to deliver the king-sized bed to my daughter's house nearby, so we did not have to figure out how to move that ourselves. I am not exactly sure how they made a profit on this move, considering the cost of gas, 3 hired movers, truck rental, lodging and food, etc. They were about $1000 cheaper than the other local estimate I received. I recommend their services highly.

Two young men showed up at 10:30 am with a large truck well equipped with dollies, hand trucks, etc. They were very careful and courteous. They were able to deal with some difficult situations such as moving a very heavy credenza that weighed about 300 pounds. The whole move took about 7.5 hours, which sounds like a long time for a move from a duplex, but there was an incredible amount of stuff. They didn't damage a single thing and they even helped us assemble some furniture at the new house. Overall, I was very happy with Smart Move and I would recommend them.

Best. Service. Ever. I have always moved myself as I am an uber-control freak, but just couldn't get it on my own this time. I purchased a deal through Angie's List and it was all smooth sailing from then on. Smart Move contacted me promptly and had my date available. They communciated well and showed up in a timely manner, then did an excellent job moving my furniture. They took great care with not only my belongings, but my new house. Nary a mark or a scratch and everything reassembled and placed just where I asked it to be. I joked about them being "scrubbing bubbles", they worked hard so we didn't have to. Highly recommend this compnay and, heaven forbid I move again, I would certainly use their services. Thank you, Smart Move, I couldn't have done it without you!

It went very well. One of the guys from Smart Move came over with a trailer and helped me move some items to a flea market so I could sell them. He was more worried about protecting the items from getting damaged than I was; that shows true professionalism.

The service was really good. They sent two guys to do the move. One of them was named Randy and they were both very professional. They were very aware of not damaging any of my property during the move.

We recently moved and were looking for an affordable company to help us - and finding a company was important as we were moving from a third floor apartment to a third floor apartment. Smart Move was an amazing find as I scanned Angie's List to find a local mover. They had an amazing deal which was $250 for three hours, two guys, and a 26' truck. Any 15 minute block of time above the three hours would be charged at $25 each. I thought it was too good to be true, but I went ahead and booked our move! The day before the move I received a call from Smart Move confirming the appointment and let me know that they would be arriving between 8 and 10 in the morning. True to their word, they arrived during the window quoted and immediately began loading the truck. They were friendly, fast, efficient, and were really taking care of my furniture as they were moving it through all the flights of stairs both ways. The move took a total of 3 hours and 15 minutes (traffic and the stairs helped take up some of the time) but it was all finally done! They truly helped make our move easy and convenient, their friendliness made them a pleasure to work with, and if I ever have to move again I know who I will be calling! I highly recommend them!

We were very happy with Smart Moves. I chose them because they disassemble and reassemble furniture and because of their good Angie's List reviews. They showed up on time and took good care of all of our stuff. The team was prompt and conscientious. We did have two small issues. One laminated table was damaged slightly when it was brought into the house. This can't be fixed and is not a big deal. The other issue was when they reassembled our bed the two under-bed drawers did not open and close properly. Turns out the drawers had been swapped and that does not work with our particular bed. We called the company and they sent someone over the next day to fix it. Unfortunatley the move took a LOT longer than I estimated and this raised the cost, but that is my fault, no tthe movers. I would used them again.

In short, this company employs bribery to get good reviews. DO NOT USE! When I spoke with the woman initially to book my move, we decided upon an 11 am start time. At 10am I received a call from the gal in the office saying in a very unapologetic manner that a previous job is running late, so instead of 11am, the movers will be arriving at my house at 3pm. That's FOUR HOURS late! Now, it doesn't take a rocket scientist to figure out that when a moving crew is going to be *that many* hours late, they obviously double booked jobs and just expected me to be fine with it. I understand that some moving jobs take longer than anticipated -- four hours is an entire other job! When I told her how unhappy I was she told me something about working with one crew instead of two today, someone got hurt the other day, they couldn't find my phone number to call me before etc. etc. The movers ended up being FIVE HOURS LATE to begin the job. The two guys who actually did the move were a couple of college guys. They were fast and careful. I have no complaints with them. Here's the best part: the gal in the office called me back while the guys were in the middle of the move to tell me that IF I WROTE A POSITIVE REVIEW OF THE COMPANY THEY WOULD SEND ME A $25 GIFTCARD. She made it very clear that the $25 was contingent upon my writing a positive review -- there's no away around it, that's bribery. I would never use this company again or recommend them.
