The countertops, the guy that took the order did not communicate to the company that the tiles was edged that I wanted on the countertops. Then they sent somebody to do it and they couldn’t re-edge it without thousands of hours of labor and they said they would take them out and redo it. By that time I said, forget it, just leave; I was so upset. They gave me a discount. The windows were another horror story. The guy they first sent to install the windows ordered the wrong size, they were too small and they had to reorder all of them and he did a crappy job and they fired him as a contractor. They gave me a rebate and sent another guy who redid the whole project and then as a benefit instead of knocking something off the price, they made all our other windows to match. They did some outline outside so that they all matched. They did reimburse me. In the end, the quality was fine but it took time because of the mistakes and the communication. When I complained about the insulation of the windows, they did respond appropriately but the first time, they didn’t, they came out and told the guy how to do it and he still didn’t do it right and they were all crooked. It was just a nightmare. When you hire a contractor that is being complained about and I had the guy from the windows department come and say other people had complaints about his insulation too and they kept sending him out on jobs, that snot very professional. It is not right for them to send this guy out, come over and look and see that he is not doing the job well and not fire him on the spot. Then they sent me this guy that they hired from Tampa, who did a really wonderful, professional job and they went back to using him and I wondered why they didn’t use him in the first place, maybe because he was from Tampa or something. He was excellent. He did a very good job. It just really ticked me off on the first job because the first job, they said just tell the guy who comes to measure what edge you want on it and I did. E didn’t write it down so they got the wrong edge and they should have written it down on the order to begin with, the guy at Lowe’s that was his job but he has already printed it out and he was being lazy. It made me feel terrible to have everything done and then have everything redone because I did what I had to do which was to get them do it right and not settle for crappy work. Nobody should when you are spending that kind of money.
