I could not get previous company to honor warranty and come out to fix. Called Anchor barrier to get a quote for new barrier on a house we own at other end of our community. With that quote we asked if they could do the repair on our house, so inspector gave additional price of $400 for our repair. Meantime we had a plumber come out on the other house to replace the water heater and found cast iron piping issues that would require repairing. So called Anchor to see if they could do our repair now and we would do other house in the fall after the house is repiped. They gave me a price of $650, same quote they gave me a year earlier for the same repair. 3 days before they came out, I called Anchor and wanted confirmation that they plan to repair with new materials mnot just reattaching the old, they did confirm they would replace the bad area. They gave me a 4 hour installation window of 1-4 pm, their 3 man crew showed up at 4:10 pm and went right to work. They opened an access area close to the area, 1 man went under home, I gave him a camera as I wanted before and after pictures, he made very good photos, very clearly showing the barrier had fallen down. They did send a roll of new film to him but I never heard and hammering. The roll of barrier came back out very quickly and man started back out but he had to go back and get after pictures which shows the same barrier that was hanging down was now tucked up over the top of the cold air return duct, no new insulation or new film. The installer was in and out in less than 15 minutes, including the time to open the access and get into his coveralls. They left and I uploaded the photos to my tablet and saw that it looks like all that was done was the hanging barrier was tucked back up on top of the duct. So I called office, spoke to Travis, and told him pictures show old material was put back up, not new installed and I think the $650 price was high for the work done and fact the previous $650 quote specifically said new insulation and barrier for 100 Sq ft area. Travis said he would talked to installers to see what was done and would call back. It's been 9 days since the install and no call back. I also requested a receipt which I have not received. I believe this company takes advantage of Senoirs and have found other reviews stating the same, I would not recommend them.
Description of Work: Repair 100 Sq. Ft. Area (their estimated area) of Vapor barrier, installed by another company, that had fallen down.

Description of Work: We thought we had some minor issues with our vapor barrier so we called Florida Anchor to look at it. The first thing out of the salesman was how they could give us a whole new vapor barrier and new insulation. He then crawled under the home, spending, at most, 10 minutes looking at it. He said we might have a soft spot in the floor and a possible pipe leak. He quoted U.S. $5,400 for a new vapor barrier and some insulation. I asked about the tie downs, what kind of shape they were in. He said not to worry about them. If we had a category 4 or 5 hurricane, our house would be gone anyway. He also said that the brickwork around the house would have to be knocked down to do new tie downs. Then he said the price for them would be about $5,000. I called another company for an estimate and the salesman spent over half an hour under the house, telling my husband what he was seeing as he went along. He went all around the perimeter. Turns out we need some vapor barrier but not all, all new tie downs as the were all broke or rusted. And they don't need to rip out our brickwork. The price was over $1000 less.

3 men arrived approx. 9 am on the morning scheduled and promptly got to work. They removed the insulation and barrier that had fallen down, stuffed it into large trash bags and loaded it into their truck. They refastened some of our HVAC ducts, installed replacement insulation and the new barrier, used foam insulation around all plumbing, straightened & shimmed the leveling blocks, retightened some of the anchor ties & added some new ones. They also installed a wire facing at the HVAC to keep animals out. Our only reservation on the job is that Mike told us that he would be using 5 - 6 men, and 3 showed up completing the job in the same amount of time as he estimated. I'm thinking we should have called & questioned the same amount charged as the original quote with fewer men used.
Description of Work: After discovering that, in several areas, the vapor barrier under our DW mobile home had fallen down onto the ground in the crawl space, we contacted Florida Anchor & Barrier. Mike came out, crawled underneath & showed us the barrier problem areas, shifted leveling blocks and some loose anchor ties. He explained the steps they would take and showed us a sample of the product they would be installing and the steps taken for the install. We were a bit shocked at the price, but the work needed to be done and we wanted it done correctly and with quality materials. We gave him the go-ahead and he gave us a date for installation.

I wanted someone to bring my mobile home back to level. It's 20 yrs old and has settled some. This usually involves using a water tube level, shims and a hammer. Usually done in an hour or so. They wanted to re-level the whole thing, adding twice as many ground supports, anchors, insulation wrapping etc. I explained again that I am on Social Security and just wanted a minor level. He basically said they were not interested in minor work, and if they did it, the price was going to be around $4000.00. I guess they wanted only to do high dollar jobs, and I sure wasn't one of them.

The workers were very professional and polite and didn't goof off. They did their job in a very professional manner. It took them from 9:30 am to 5:30 in the afternoon to complete the job. I would hire them again as they did a great job and used the best materials. We would recommend them to anyone. We also received a certificate with a lifetime guarantee. We are very glad we joined Angie's list and will continue to use it whenever we need a job done.
Description of Work: We had a tropical storm hit us in late June and it took 4 days to pump out all the water under our mobile home and thought all was ok until the ceramic tiles started to crack so, we had it checked out under the house and it was really bad and everything was still wet after all this time and everything was ruined and that is what was making our floors crack. We hired Florida Anchor & Barrier as we found they were reputable from Angie's List and they were here the next day and showed us all the damage and they fixed everything and also raised our ducts as high as they could and put in a barrier across the whole house and a vapor barrier as well. What a difference when we saw the finished product.

Florida anchor and barrier company employees showed up on the site on time. In a 55+ Park, this is a miracle. They were professional and courteous. They did the work in a decent amount of time. They were honest about what really needed to be done and why it needed to be done. They crawled under the mobile home and took pictures with their camera. This showed me the problems that needed to be addressed. They were right and the price was fair. They even replaced the pipe fittings that were so corroded and broke. I would recommend them to anyone.
Description of Work: Releveled ground underneath mobile home. Replaced insulation with R-19 insulation. Patched holes. Replaced pipe fittings. Leveled two I-beams. Installed 6 pilings and two marriage joints all the way down the middle of the double wide home.
