Samsung approved a warranty repair for my refrigerator's ice maker with Tekno TV in December 2020. After not hearing anything for a week (I was told by Samsung that Tekno TV would reach out to me within 48 hours), I decided to follow up with the company to inquire about the status of the service request. The woman who answered, Jenny, was almost immediately confrontational and rude. She seemed, without cause, flustered and annoyed that I would call, and indicated that she wouldn't be able to schedule a visit for a while. I wasn't so concerned about the delay in service, to be honest, but rather Jenny's unwarranted tone and treatment of me over the phone; I registered my concerns about the experience with Samsung soon after the call. Late the following week, Jenny called to inform me of my appointment time. Unfortunately, she never asked me whether the time was convenient to my schedule, and since it wasn't, I indicated that I preferred a different date instead. Because Jenny's tone was unchanged since the previous call, I bluntly asked Jenny whether scheduling appointments for customers without their input was standard practice. She retorted indignantly that she had 30 years of customer service experience and didn't need me to tell her how to do her job. We left it at that, but no doubt our early communications were unnecessarily tense because of her argumentative tone. On the day of my appointment Tony, the Teckno TV repairman, arrived at my house wearing a single-layer neck gaiter. I felt uneasy letting him in since a single-layer neck gaiter has been shown to be a less effective type of face covering to prevent the spread of the corona virus. To avoid any additional conflict, I didn't voice my concern and instead let Tony get to work. Tony seemed surprised that my freezer hadn't yet been defrosted, but unfortunately Jenny hadn't given me specific instructions prior to his arrival about to prepare. He inspected the freezer and speculated that a damaged seal could be letting warm air enter, which could be causing the ice maker and freezer to glaze over with ice. He noted that he'd have to return at a later time after he discussed his findings with Jenny and after I had a chance to defrost the freezer. I waited patiently for a phone call later that day but heard nothing. That evening I wrote an email to Jenny, communicating my unease about Tony's choice of face mask and insisted that he wear a standard mask when returning. To my amazement Jenny hastily canceled my service request with Samsung the following morning in what seemed to be retaliation for my email and for my insistence that she treat me respectfully. Even more shocking was Jenny's email to Samsung, alleging that uncleanliness of the freezer seal and thus my negligence was the primary cause for the ice maker's malfunction. Her attempt at sabotaging the service request was an extra layer of unprofessional behavior that I wasn't quite expecting and that I surely wasn't about to forget. This review should serve as a warning to others contacting Tekno TV that they too many be severely disappointed with their customer service and lack of professionalism. Judging by my experience and the other reviews about the company I've read, I don't think that prediction would be too far off base.
