Description of Work: Southern septic took a deposit of several hundred to begin the process to replace my drain field. They stated 30 days to begin work. That date came and went. I had to chase Roy around and call many times. He had never started the permit process at all. Once confronted Roy admitted nothing was begun. Another week goes by and he still filed no paper work. I am chasing him via phone and calling the county to see if he has filed for a permit. After 45 days of nothing we asked for the deposit again and went with Bradford who did what they promised. Southern then took almost 2 months to return my deposit and several phone calls. Roy seemed over committed and dropped the ball so much that my job was a don't care. My experience was terrible.

Description of Work: Installed Septic system and lift station for new home construction. In the meantime, they hit a palm tree with their equipment and tried to tell me they did not hit it and it must have been lightning strike. You can see the marks where they clearly hit the tree and my property is under video surveillance. Instead, the workers were very rude and condescending to my wife when she inquired about the damage. If that's not enough...they also cut my Comcast cable line. Of course they denied doing so but who else hit it with heavy equipment? The orange cable line was exposed and cut in two places by their equipment. It was actually quite bizarre for them to lie about two things that were blatantly obvious. I hope the system they installed works.....

Southern came out to the house to pump the tank when we found it the toilet not flushing well. After cleaning the tank the system was still slow. Southern found the drain field was not flowing and quite a lot of roots. We gave them a permit fee and waited for the permit. In most cases the permit takes 3 to 4 days if the company is diligent or two weeks if they do it in their spare time. Southern took $450 in permit fees which is about twice what it costs to get the permit from the Health Department which was not so bad. What was bad is they made us wait 6 weeks and never returned our phone calls. The office people know nothing of the owner's schedule and you need to speak to the owner who you have to constantly call (Roy). I call the Health Department and guess what Roy did not file for a permit at all. I call Roy until he answers on his cell phone which takes most of the day every 15 minutes. He realizes the permit never happened and promises to go in person to the Health Department to get the permit seeing as we are now 6 weeks in waiting. i call the Health Department a week later, since Roy will not answer his phone and the office has no idea what his schedule is, and guess what. No permit has been filed. I call Roy every 15 minutes until I get him and he says he will call me right back. Roy never called back. I spend the next day doing the 15 minute calls to get Roy and he admits he lied in not walking in the permit, not calling me back and not getting the permit filed at all. He emailed the permit and his email did not send because his computer has a problem and he would like another two weeks to get the permit. I finally pulled the plug and started looking for a new company. I would avoid Southern unless you have a lot of time to call Roy.
