Pool Master Maintenance & Repair

I just purchased the home. The previous owner never maintained the pool. It was so green with it looked like a lawn. I tried everything to Caen with no results. I thought it would need a new surface. Which would have cost me in the thousands of dollars. I called Steve the owner of pool master who assured me he could clean it and make it right. He kept his promise. My pool looks brand new and the water is as clear as crystal. He did what he promised and saved me a lot of money. Steve has an excellent work ethic. You can always reach him. He shows up when he says he will and does an excellent job for a reasonable price. He is pleasant to talk to and provides you with excellent information. I would use him again and recommend him to everyone. Three words describe him, excellent, excellent, excellent.

Stephen Rovnyak, the owner of the company, is the greatest pool guy in the world. He is terrific and awesome. He was the best that Angie's List ever gave me. He is an intelligent pool man and he knows what he is talking about. He gets the job done right the first time and he does not lie or try to upsell you. He is just a really great guy.

Stephen was exceptionally helpful and informative. He went out of his way to replace my pool pump quickly, even though it was his day off. He was very knowledgable about the size of pump I needed and did not try to sell me more than was necessary. I highly recommend him! Very professional and even gave me some great ideas for dealing with algae in my koi pond:). He is prompt, courteous, and did a quality job.

3 words says it all: World Class Service. I will never call anyone else for service, I don't care if they're half as much! Stephen is one of the last of a dying breed: a true craftsman. If you want someone you can trust, someone that does what they say they're going to do when they said the we're going to do it then call Pool Master.

Absolutely amazing experience - if it was possible I would give Pool Master Maintenance and Repair an A+ rating. I'm new to South Florida and to pools. Yesterday the garage door repair service was here (At Your Service Garage Doors - also great!) & John recommended Pool Master Maintenance and Repair. I looked them up on Angie's list read the review & gave them a call. Stephen called me back after 5pm- the same day! He fit me into his schedule for the next day, called to let me know when he was 30 minutes away & showed up exactly on time. I explained that in addition to the leak I needed a "pool 101" walk through. Stephen explained the entire system in easy to understand terms, made sure everything was working properly with the system and fine tuned the settings. He told me that the filter system I have hasn't been manufactured for some time and replacement parts are not to be found. Then, instead of trying to sell me a new filter system, he checked it out & fixed the leak which was coming from the o-ring seal. He greased it, reset it & the leak was gone. So, after spending an hour of his time getting me up to speed on my pool AND fixing the leak, he refused to let me pay him. Really. He also did not try to sell me anything or propose an ongoing maintenance agreement. I highly recommend you contact Pool Master if you need any help with your pool - this kind of honesty and excellent customer service is a rare find!

The clean out of my DE filter of my very large pool got the return flow working great. Steve knows just what to do.

Answered the phone right away and talked me through my pool heater problem. Rather than take my money and come out only to say he can't fix it, or refer me to someone else, he talked me through likely problems with my unusual pool heater and recommended a good course of action to get it fixed right the first time by the manufacturer. Thanks Steve!

Stephen came as soon as he was free even though we had an appointment for the next day, fixed it quickly and didn't charge me for it even though it was my fault. Apparently I let the water level in the pool go too low which caused it to overheat the filter system and caused the pipe to separate due to the heat effect. Took no longer than 5 minutes and it was fixed. No charge to me even though it really was due to my own negligence. What more can you ask for quick service and no charge. Great guy!! Very reliable.

Called at approximately 2pm. I described what needed replaced including the model (now discontinued) and 1.5 HP pump. Steve finished his present job, picked up the parts, and drove to my house by 3:20pm. Installation was completed a little after 4pm. I asked Steve a few questions about my filtration system which were only partially related to this job. He answered my questions and said I could call if I had other questions. Great service even though I said it didn't have to be done today. I had another quote which was higher so I feel confident that his price was fair.

aware ofStephen arrived promptly, as scheduled. I had 2 problems. 1. The pool was not properly converting salt to chlorine. 2. The spa blower was not working properly. In both cases Stephen tested the equipment and told me what was wrong. He offered to do the work for me, or I could do it myself. Many people are not capable of electrical work, etc., but I am and he could tell. If I have any trouble with the work, I'll certainly call Stephen and he will take care of it. He also tested my pool water for other conditions, some of which I am fully aware of. He was extremely knowledgeable and I will call immediately if I have any problems.

Stephen arrived promptly, as scheduled. He found immediately that the pool pump motor was burned up, and he replaced the motor. He was kind enough to label all of the valves to the pump and instruct me on the operation of the pump. He advised me on the chemicals to buy to get started on correcting the pool water, which was very green. I followed his instructions, and by the end of the day, the pool water was no longer green, but a cloudy blue. We are slowly getting the pool water corrected, and my husband was very pleased and surprised to find the pool pump working when he returned home from a trip North.

Stephen was great! We just bought a fixer upper and the pool had not been maintained in over a year. He came out right away and turned our green pool to blue. He finished the job a day earlier than anticipated and we couldn't be happier with the results. We will definitely be recommended him to our family and friends.

Stephan, the owner is not only knowledgeable, punctual, and efficient, and FAST, he is also a very nice guy. When I called him for an estimate, he was ready to replace my system. He came to my home the next day after I called. His price was fair and while examining my system, a frozen handle accidentally broke on my filter. He replaced the entire assembly no charge when he did the other repairs and was very apologetic about the incident. It was not his fault. I recently bought this home as a short sale and NOTHING in this home is in good shape. I have already recommended him to two other friends of mine.

Stephen is awesome. He came out the same day I called him and gave me a full quote with explanation about what needed to be done. No high pressure sales to buy stuff u dont need. After we agreed on the work to be done, Stephen came out the next day and completed all of the repairs same day. He is professional, skilled, and polite. He takes pride in his work and will have 100% of my business from here out..

I contacted Stephen on a Friday because our pool motor quit. He was kind enough to schedule us for the end of his day. To speed things up, I sent him pictures of our equipment so he knew what to replace. He came out ahead of bad thunderstorms, replaced the equipment, and answered all our questions without hesitation. We will be sure to use him again.

He called & related what he had found. We had called them because pool looked green & unkept. We were pleased with the quick response from this firm.

Called Stephen on Monday and he showed up on Tuesday right on time. He was very professional. When I told him the reason that I had to let my previous company go, he immediately checked all chemical levels in the pool and explained everything he was doing. I let him know that this was my first pool experience and he took the time to explain everything about the pool and how the filters worked and the heater. I was very excited because nobody else took the time to explain anything about the pool to me. I immediately hired him and will come back to Angie's list in a couple of months and let you know how everything goes. I am a women and have dealt with many men and I can honestly tell you that he was by far the best. He did not treat me like most men do, thinking that women are incapable of learning and that they have to treat us like children. Instead he talked to me with respect and treated me like he would anyone else.

I can't say enough good things about Steve. He was absolutely awesome! We had been out of town for several weeks due to a death in the family and our pool had turned from clear to a murky dark green. We had added chlorine, acid, changed filters and had almost no improvement after 2 weeks. We called Steve on Friday July 5th. He responded immediately and agreed to come out on Saturday to help us out. He showed up promptly on Saturday morning and quickly assessed the situation. We had used enough chemicals to kill the algae but we were not removing it from the water through the filter system fast enough. Because the algae growth had become so prevalent, Steve recommended that we drain the pool partially, refill it with clean water and continue to filter the system. The only problem with this was that our system had been installed without a relief valve to drain water from the pool. Steve fixed this problem in less than 20 minutes (he came prepared with everything necessary on his truck) and we began draining the pool. After the pool reached about halfway, we began to refill with clean water. We let the water run all night to fill the pool. When we woke up the next morning our pool wasn't green but was orange! Apparently our exterior spickets run from a separate well which has an extremely high iron content. We called Steve in a bit of a panic. He was quick to respond again and came out the same day to treat the water with something to remove the iron and metals from the water. When we got home that evening around 8 pm not only was the orange tint gone but so was the cloudiness caused by the algae. We could see straight to the bottom of a pool that less than 48 hours before had been completely filthy. Steve came out one more time to treat the water again and make sure that the pool water was properly balanced and ready to swim in. We were absolutely thrilled with the service from Pool Master. Service was quick, professional, and very fairly priced. Additionally, Steve drove almost 20 miles each way every time he made a visit. We live in an area of Palm Beach that is pretty far out in the "boonies." Most providers wouldn't have made the trip or wouldn't have kept coming back but Steve did so cheerfully. I am in a service business myself and I know Steve and his company have all of the keys to be successful in a service industry. Thank you Steve!

I was not comfortable with phone consultation. He said I?ll come out if you can start the service today. I told him I wasn?t ready yet. He didn?t even offer to come out. He acted like he was doing me a favor. He said ?Did you call me two weeks ago?? I replied, "Are you the one I?ll be calling me back when the pool is green?" ? He said no, but I?ll remember that line.? I thought that was arrogant. As a potential costumer, I felt disrespected.

Job finished in very little time Also advised me on how to use the salt system better to have it last longer Extremely personable, honest and quick worker guaranteed his work if ever there was a problem Stuck to the price that he gave on the phone I thought he d be very occupied so asked if he could come the next day, but he jumped in his truck and came right over to fix the leak I will definitely use his services again and recommend him to others.

I called Stephen because my pool pump was not moving any water. He didn't want to rush to replace the motor because he could hear it was still running, just not pulling. He did a complete investigation of all aspects of the filter and motor and through a process of elimination, he found the culprit and made the repairs. He was completely professional and explained every step of this process to me. I feel like I am a more educated consumer now because of this experience. I was impressed that he didn't just want to replace everything from the beginning. He kept my bottom line in his decision making processes.

Stephen showed up within 24 hours of initial call, in the initial call he gave me the price of what was needed, it was very fair, he arrived and did the job (installed pool/pump) and addressed all of my pool questions with patience and INTELLIGENCE about pools. a TRUE PLEASURE!!!!!!!!!! He assessed what was needed, gave me a very fair estimate and I hired him on the spot, he is the POOL WHISPERER, knows pools, is thorough, timely, and highly efficient. He acid washed my spa and pool and they look clean, bright and amazing, a terrific job. He will return tmrw to finish adding the new chemicals after my pool is filled, the man is really a wonderful techincian and i have hired him to maintain my pools every month. I am thrilled.

I contacted Stephen after the pool maintenance company I was using was not showing up weekly as promised. I called at 715am and Stephen showed up at my house at around 9AM the same day! He cleaned my pool, checked the chemical and salt levels and gave me a contract explaining his services thoroughly. He is enthusiastic and reasonably priced. I am on Singer Island and will be his first customer here! Hopefully, my neighbors will read this and give his company a try. I will add to my review after a few months of maintenance provided by Pool Master Maintenance and Repair.
