Pool Master Maintenance & Repair

What can I say? Sometimes things don't go as you plan. But it's the measure of a true professional when they can adapt to a dynamic situation and still get the job done with honesty and integrity. Stephen is that kind of professional. We used Pool Master in the past after we purchased our new-to-us home. The new home came with a pool, SWG, pool heater, etc. All inoperable and looking to cost thousands of dollars to fix (which we weren't expecting after our home inspection). Stephen came out and diagnosed all of the problems, cleaned the debris in the pool and was able to get the system (pump, SWG, heater, skimmer, etc.) operational without having to replace any hardware. Additionally, he found an old fiber-optic light system that we didn't know existed and fixed it for us/showed us how to make it work. Finally, he gave my wife and I a master level class on how to maintain our pool. For all of this work, his rates were extremely reasonable and we came away happy customers. This time around, my wife noticed that the pool wasn't circulating water. I did the basic maintenance/troubleshooting that I'm comfortable with (not much) and then called Pool Master. After discussing, we initially thought the problem we were having was with the pool pump. Quick fix, easy (if a bit expensive) replacement. Unfortunately, after working through the problem, it turned out to be the pump timer switch (even though all terminals were reporting the proper voltages, the gear on the clock was spinning, and there was power to the existing pump). Stephen didn't have the switch in stock, so he went to home depot and picked up a replacement (and didn't try to push it off until tomorrow), installed it and tested it. On a hunch, he tested the old pump and confirmed that it was still working. He re-installed the old pump, checked the system one more time (and gave me some pointers on how long to run the pump/how high to set the SWG). What was looking like a high dollar problem turned into a far less costly issue. I will definitely be using Pool Master for all of our follow-on work in the future. I switched pool companies because my pool and water never looked or felt good. Now that Im using Pool Master, my pool never looked better and the water feels amazing. Steve is extremely knowledgeable about treating pool water and how to keep the pool at its best. It's the best 95 dollars a month I've ever spent.

Steve did a fantastic job. Its a breath of fresh air to work with someone that really knows what he's doing. He explained everything very clearly, his prices were extremely competitive and the work was done on time and on budget. What more can I say? This is the company to call if you want it done right.

Due to some overwhelming health problems, our pool was ignored for a couple of months. Steve arrived promptly and assessed the pool problems. He thoroughly explained my options and was very informative to my questions, reviewed the condition of my pool equipment and provided suggestions for future work. I had heard that a salt water pool was preferable to chlorine and Steve was an excellent instructor concerning the differences in these pools. I chose the salt system and he facilitated the changeover with amazing speed and competence. It is unfortunate that his pool maintenance business does not include my neighborhood, but anyone that is fortunate enough to have his services are quite lucky.

Pool Master Maintenance & Repair was the second company I contacted, as the first company did not respond for several days, gave me prices much higher than the work should have cost and tried to sell me equipment that I did not need. I obviously had researched a pool motor and a new pump so I had an idea of what parts where going to cost without labor. Stephen from Pool Master responded to my request in a very short time, gave me a quote, asked me when I was available to do the work and accomodated me on a Saturday morning (go figure)! Stephen priced the pool motor for 1/2 the cost of the first company. In addition to his being on time, he was extremely professional - I think he was surprised that I was surprised he showed up!!! He replaced the pool motor, found that the wires to the motor were too short from the previous install, wear & tear etc and replaced them, and did not charge me for the added wire issue. He also showed me a little about how the pool motor worked with the pump since I wanted to know! He did what ever it took to get the work done and my pool equipment going. I am extremely impressed with the service I received and would recommend this company to any of my neighbors and friends without hesistation, and would also use them again.

We needed two swimming pool pumps replaced, and after consulting Angie's List and the BBB, we called Stephen at Pool Master Maintenance and Repair. What a great decision that turned out to be! Stephen came out that day, and quoted us a price for replacing the pumps, but only after he spent considerable time seeing if a repair was possible. Then he tried to figure out if we could get by with smaller, less expensive pumps than what was already there. When it became apparent that neither one of those options were viable, he apologetically quoted us the price. He came the next day and replaced the pumps, even though his car was in the shop, and his wife had to drop him off (along with all of his tools and two pool pumps) at our house. The work was completed that day, for the quoted price. Stephen is prompt, honest and professional. And, he's a very nice guy. Update: We have called Stephen twice since then, for what turned out to be minor repairs on two different pumps. He has refused payment both times. "I was in the area, it was no big deal. Just tell your friends." Consider it done. Update #2: Just called Stephen again, to replace yet another pool pump. He said he will take care of it first thing tomorrow... Saturday. What more could you ask for?

Excellent service! We have never had a pool so we called because our heater was making an strange noise. He happened to be around and help us with our questions and more!

After reading reviews on Angies, I gave the company a call to repair a leak in my pump system (I wasn't sure what was leaking) and take a look at the pump as it was starting to make a noise. Stephen is a one man show which is fine with me. He came out and checked out the unit, diagnosed it and called me same day. After talking about an intermediate repair I decided to go full rehab on my 25 year old unit. Let me be clear, I brought up the extra work, Stephan quoted me the work to fix my immediate problem and did not upsell me. He gave me a price quote on the bigger job, threw in some extra work for free, and said he would order parts and set the date for the repair. All was done as stated on time, on budget, and promptly finished. The extra he threw in was : my old system was an old suction and blow system that i never really used. Stephen converted it to a standard suction system that now functions as it should, better than ever. All told I got a 100% replacement of pump, filter, and reworking of pvc and electric for what I think was a very fair price. And upon completion, he took 15 minutes to go over the operation of the valves and the unit as a whole?most pool guys just leave. I would definitely use Stephan again, problem is my unit will probably be working perfectly when I sell the house ten years from now.

I called them and they came within 25 minutes that same day. He knew exactly where to go, was very courteous, and very reasonably priced. He was the best service I have ever had. I cannot say enough good things about him. I have had a lot of people do this type of work for me and he was the first one that I was this pleased with. I wish I could give him an A+++!

Well I have to say I see why Stephen's Company is "A" rated! I found Pool Master on of course Angie's List & it was the 1st number I called due to all of the positive testimonies. When I called Stephen he was quick to return my call...He asked what was going on with my pool & explained the couple situations that I had. Stephen made time to work me in his schedule the same day and serviced my pool. I asked him for a quote for weekly service & was pleased with the price but more pleased of the type of individual Stephen is, very honest & personable! I am excited and looking forward to have Stephen service my residential pool weekly. He also stressed any problems with anything please do not hesitate to call him so he can make it right!

Steven was very professional, highly trained, posessed all the right equipment and the skill to use them, patiently explained what he would do and how we could better enjoy the pool. A+ experience.

Steve responded fast, asked detailed questions and provided me with options, the difference between equipment and pricing. Within 3 days he replaced the filter and took time to answer other questions we had about maintenance of our pool. Steve is very straightforward and knowledgeable. He will tell you if he can get the job done or not. If you have an issue don't hesitate to call him he offers excellent service.

After explaining my needs, he asked me some questions and explained what I needed to do. Unfortunately, he couldn't ffer the service as the Jacuzzi is a stand-alone unit, not attached to a pool and it needs to be serviced by the manufacturer's specialized technicians. Mr. Stephen was assertive and very informative.

We purchased a new home with pool and had no real idea what to do. Our pool was very green, dirty, couldn't get our vacuum to work, etc. I spoke with Stephen on a Sunday and he was at our home on Monday. He looked at everything and started work that day. Our pool was clear and ready for use by that weekend!! It was amazing the change in just 72 hours!! We went from green and not even being able to see the bottom of our pool to crystal clear! He came by 2-3 times that week to make sure our pool was usable as soon as possible. He very thoroughly walked us through everything and explained how/why the pool got the way it did, how to avoid and maintain it. He was very personable and we easily came to the decision to use his weekly service (paid monthly). Thank you Stephen!!

We came home from a trip on Mar 9 to find that we have a broken motor and the pool has turned green. Search in Angie's list and found Stephen on Mar 10 (Monday). Stephan gave us a lot of great tips and pointers over the phone. We got a new motor and Stephen came out to help us fixed the motor on Tuesday. We spoke to a couple of folks on the Angie's list and found that he is the best. He is professional, knows what he is talking, and his price is reasonable. We will definitely use his service again and will recommend to friends. Thanks for coming by so quickly to change out the motor. The pool is sparkling clean again now.

I called Pool Master because our pool was acting up and when I called over the phone he helped me fix my problem instead of him coming out to my home and being charged! He saved me money and was very honest about everything. Will definitely call back if I ever have any serious issues. Thank you So much!

I recently purchased a house in the acreage section of Palm Beach and I contacted Stephen of Pool Master after seeing his reviews on Angie's' List. He arrived on time and began testing and servicing the pool. Throughout the entire service call he provided me with continuous information about the pool and the system. He labeled all of the lines going to and from the pool as part of the service call and showed me that the filter needed to be replaced and how to replace it. At this point he could have tried to sell me a new filter and charge me for installation, instead he gave me several options and honestly told me which would be the cheapest (not him because of the ordering and installation fee). I ordered the filter online as he suggested and will install it my self. Stephen was professional and very knowledgeable about pools and gave me some other money saving tips. Although I just called him to make and initial service on my pool, i hired him on the spot to provide weekly service. I would highly recommend him to anyone.

I bought a house recently with a pool. I had NO idea how to use it and called Pool Master to come out and show me how to operate the system. He took me through how to use it and all the features right over the phone. He was very pleasant, knowledgeable and extremely helpful. Everything that I needed he was able to help with over the phone and did so for FREE! What service! AMAZING! You don't get that often! He even helped me undestand what is needed to service the pool so that if I want to take care of it myself I could! Just on this experience I would hire him in a second for any service and/or repair that I need! THANK YOU Stephen!
