Pool Master Maintenance & Repair

Mr. Rovnyak is knowledgeable, responsive and energetic. He was very effective at helping me understand the deficiencies in the 20+ year old pool in our new house in order to allow me to plan a time-phased renovation rather than replacing everything at once. His quote for a heater replacement was significantly less than the local pool chains. The unit he recommended works flawlessly and his installation was speedy and professional. Based on his energy, knowledge and professionalism, I have retained him for monthly pool service. A+++

Steve is a top notch guy. I called him in the morning to acid wash my larger spa. I needed it done right away as I was showing the house to a prospective buyer the very next day. He said he would be there at 5, after seeing all his previously scheduled appointments. Got there on time and he did the job that evening, came out great, and he didn't gouge me at all, even knowing that I was pretty much desperate to have it done right away. I would highly recommend him to anyone who needs pool work done, as I said he's a very honest top notch guy.

I contacted Steve while looking at a foreclosed house I was looking to buy and needed to know how bad of shape the pool was. Steve came out that day and provided me with a quote for all the problems that the pool had. When I bought the house I called him to clean up the pool. Steve showed up on time and began restoring what he called the dirtiest pool ever. He removed at least 20 bucket loads of muck from the bottom of the pool! After pressure washing all he could, he acid washed the pool and brought it back to amazing shape, working well into darkness to get the job done that day. His hard work and effort are the reason I have a great looking pool. I will be calling pool master for all my pool needs. The only part I was disappointed with is that he does not do regular pool care where I live [loxahatchee ] I can't say enough great things about pool master!

I emailed Stephen on Angies' List and he called almost as soon as I hit SEND! Incredible response time. He was here the same afternoon and explained everything about our pool/spa system (which was 14 years old, rusted, fan disconnected in the heater, blowers shot, pump broken, salt system not working). This sounded like a lot of work, and it was, but Stephen quoted me a fair price and asked me if I needed the repair ASAP. I told him we'd gone without a working pool/spa this long and to take his time since it was Christmas season (very busy season). WELL, he was here the very next day (TODAY) with the pumps, new heater etc). I had to leave the house and when I came home, the pool was clear, the spa was heated and all the blowers, jets, waterfall etc WORKING like new! I hired him to take care of the pool from now on. I can't believe I had a "pool service" that took my money all these years, never bothered to try to fix the problems or advise me of them. I will never use anyone else. Stephen is a real professional who obviously loves happy customers because he made another one today!!

My pool had gathered stains over the years by previous owners due to poor maintenance. After looking on Angie's list for a reliable person, I contacted Stephen, and I did not regret it! Within 30mins of submitting a request, Stephen called me back. He came to acid wash the pool and this made a huge difference! Stephen was punctual all three times he came (once to setup the pump to empty the pool, the following day to acid wash, and the third time to add back all the chemicals after the pool was filled up again). He is very knowledgeable, spent the time explaining everything he was doing (e.g. the chemicals used), and he also gave me advice on topics above and beyond what he came for. I highly recommend him for any pool needs you may have!

Stephen came out to my house a day after I called and told him the leak repair people had finished and the guy I had hired to acid wash my pool while it was still empty had bailed. He was punctual, knowledgeable, and professional. Explained everything before he did it and offered suggestions for future improvements (it's a 20 year old pool). The acid wash made such a difference. The pool looks awesome now that it's filled up again. He even left a bucket with a cocktail of chemicals to put in the pool after it filled up. He told me the hose water might look a little green in the pool, so I didn't panic when that's what happened. I just waited until I could turn on the pump so I could add the chemicals he left, and a day later the pool was sparkling clean and looks great! Stephen really knows his stuff! Would recommend.

It went very well. Explain the situation straight to the point, provided alternatives and fix the problem on the spot. Steve perform the repairs and suggested other improvements solutions. Nice all over experience. Will hire again.

Steven is a real professional. I called him on a Thursday, he showed up the next morning and the job was completed in a few days. My pool had been destroyed by poor chemistry and he showed me exactly what had gone wrong and well as what the fix would be...an acid wash. Within 3 days my pool looks fantastic and Steven is going to take care of it monthly. Great service and delivered on everything as promised at a VERY fair price. 5 star.

Everything went perfect. Called Steve late in afternoon after speaking with my tenant about leak in filter and problem with timer. He finished his previous commitments and fit me in his schedule. Completed timer replacement and also went over the pool equipment. I will use Steve for any repair issues I have in future.

I submitted a request for appointment, and he replied to the request quickly asked me to call since he did not have my number. I called and he was very courteous helping me identify a provider that can do the job I need done.

Steve is great! I had a problem with my spa hose. He came out the first time and explained how to fix the problem for no charge. I attempted to fix the problem, but no luck. In addition, It appeared that I also was having a problem with the timer. He quickly answered my call again and came out with a timer. The repair was minor and was still a problem with the air hose.. This was a simple repair with a hose connector. He didn't have to replace the timer. He explained the system to me and I decided to provide him with some money for his time. Steve is honest, responsible and very easy to work with. I would not hesitate to call him again for any pool repair/maintenance issues. GREAT JOB!!

Stephen Rovnyak is a breath of fresh air in the world of service providers! He is professional, punctual, proficient, and pleasant!!! I called him regarding what I diagnosed as a dead pool pump. He asked me to text him a few pictures so that he could arrive at my home with the proper equipment. I guess I should add efficient to my list of accolades! He arrived when promised, confirmed my diagnosis, and had my new pool pump purring in no time. He was very knowledgeable, and didn't seem to mind answering pool related questions. "Steve the owner of Pool Master answered my call after the first ring. How often does that happen when an owner answers the phone on the first ring? I knew we were off to a good start. We spoke on the phone at length about my issues and he was knowledgeable, thorough and polite. I explained my job which was to change out a failing salt water system and replace it with a new system. He listened and then was quickly able to juggle his busy schedule, to satisfy my urgent request to get this done as soon as possible. He came out just a few days later. He arrived early, had all the necessary tools and completed the job quickly and left no detail unattended. He cleaned up and showed me how to operate the new unit and said to call him if I had any issues. He even checked a faulty pool light at no extra charge. I had no issues and it works great. Clean, clear blue water and my family is happy swimming every day thanks to Pool Master. He certainly lived up to the excellent Angie's list reviews he has earned and even beyond our expectations. STEVE WAS ABSOLUTELY FANTASTIC IN EVERY RESPECT. NOT ONLY DID HE SHOW UP WITHIN THE HOUR TO PERSONALLY ASSESS THE PROBLEM, BUT HE CAME BACK THAT WEEKEND ( EXACTLY LIKE HE SAID, AND ON TIME ) TO START AND COMPLETE THE WORK. We purchased a new home that had a pool which the current tenants had let go. It was completely green, and you couldn't see down more than a few feet into the water. We contacted Steve for a quote, and he responded within 20 minutes of my initial message to him on Angie's List--very prompt, and he provided the rough estimate I had requested. We had him come out to view the property to give a final quote to drain, acid wash and clean the pool, and balance the chemicals once refilled. The price was fair--$600--and that included 3 visits over 3 days: Thursday to start the pump-out, Friday to do the acid wash and start refilling the pool, and Saturday to vacuum up the remaining debris and balance the chemicals once the pool was filled. He attempted to come back on Monday, as scheduled, to check the chemicals again, but access issues with the tenant prevented it, unfortunately. Overall, great service, quality job, and answered all our questions throughout the process. Would recommend to others!

Steve Rovnyak exceeded our expectations in regard to the repair of our pool pump and saved us over $600 in the repair of our pump. My husband and I highly recommend him for his prompt and professional service. I first called Steve on July 30, 2014 in regard to our pool pump making a loud whining noise. He called me within an hour of receiving my e-mail thru Angie's list and came out the same afternoon to check out the problem. I told Steve that our pool pump was just over one year old and that the new pump was installed in April 2013. There was a one year warranty on the pump so I assumed that the manufacturer would not do anything for us in regard to the repair of the pump. The motor was going bad and Steve said eventually it would stop running, which it did. Steve called the manufacturer on our behalf, which I did not ask or expect him to do. Due to his effort, the manufacturer agreed to send us a new motor. Steve installed the new motor as soon as we received it. Steve saved us money and we feel assured that the pump was repaired correctly.

Steve picked up my phone call and asked me a few questions and said he was on a job now and would be there in an hour to and hour and a half. He was right on time and very pleasant to talk to. I just moved here from Virginia and never had a pool. Steve took the time to label everything for me and explained how every piece of equipment and how it works. If you need a dependable and knowledgable pool person, select Steve.

Someone said that Steve is awesome and we concur. I called Steve Wednesday afternoon. We live outside the area Steve services. He called us Thursday evening at 7 PM and said he was on his way. We couldn't believe it. Steve shows up, quickly diagnoses the problem and after one hour has our pool fixed. We are so happy, we have been struggling with this problem for months. Thank you Steve for your promptness, professionalism and knowledge. You have a customer for life.

He had our pool up and running again in just over an hour. No muss, no fuss. He's awesome!

When I moved into my home the pool was not filtering and the motor emitted a loud noisy squeal. I went to Angie's List and found Steve Rovnyak, with Pool Master Pools. When I called Steve I didn't realize that he didn't cover my Geographic area, but he never mentioned it and told me he would come to my home at the end of his normal day. Sure enough, Steve arrived around 4:30 PM and immediately began to work on the pool. Steve started to cut out the rusted valves and filter enclosure when the afternoon rains started. Steve continued to work through the rain and replaced everything but the motor before our community rules forced him to leave at 7 PM. The next day (Steve's normal day off), Steve arrived early in the morning and replaced the motor and Gaskets, tested out the whole pool and did 5 different chemical tests on the water. When Steve left the pool was Perfect! I would highly recommend Pool Master for any pool related problems.
