Okeechobee Tree Triming & Removal

We had several estimates from other companies through Angies List, all were very professional, but all were priced out of our budget. Eric (The owner of Okeechobee tree trimming and removal and not a member of Angie's List at the time) came to our door one day as he was handing out business cards in our neighborhood and offered a free estimate, so I called the next day for an estimate and they showed up an hour later than our arranged time. After the estimate we decided they, although unprofessional from the start, were the cheapest thing going (which they claimed was just to help people out in Florida's current economic state). They assured us that they were licensed, insured and covered for workers comp in case of injury or damage, that they were a family business stemming back for many generations and that they had done tree services for our neighbors for years, so due to our budget we hired them. They told us the job would take two days, he and his wife showed up two hours late and finished one and a half trees and then took off due to rain, left the debris and rescheduled for the next day. The next day he no showed and after many attempts to contact him he said he couldn't make it because he had to finish another job, so we rescheduled. This time he showed up several hours late with his wife and toddler (who wondered around as they worked), finished 2 and a half trees and left due to a chainsaw issue and again left the debris. We rescheduled for two days later and he never showed and we could not get a hold of him. A couple days later he answered and said he would be out the next day and that he had been busy, so we waited and waited and he was a no show, so I called and text him until he finally picked up the phone to tell me he wouldn't be coming due to a family issue and would reschedule for the next day. The next day he no showed again after many attempts to reach him he showed 6 hours late this time he and another guy showed up in bad moods (I imagine due to our repeated attempts at trying to reach him), smoking and putting out cigarettes in our yard. They finally finished the job took a portion of the debris away and told us "someone" would be by with-in the next two days to haul away the rest. No one ever showed!! So again after many calls and text we were never able to reach them again and we ended up with a partial hack job, dead grass where the piles had been kept for over a week and we had to finish hauling out 4 giant piles of debris ourselves which we had paid him to haul away. So in closing, I recommend that you not walk, but run away from this "Company" and don't make the same mistake we did, if the price sounds too good to be true then it probably is and if you do hire this company don't pay not even bit by bit as we did as the job was getting done, but at the end when the job is complete!!
