+ -1 moreMy experience was vastly different than the other reviews I have read. There was no communication as to when he would show up for the job - it was postponed a few times by him with no communication to us. When they did show up, every day they were here they left a terrible mess and we had to repeatedly ask them to pick up the roofing nails on the ground around the house so they wouldn't be a hazard to us or our small dog. They finished the roof on a Friday and were supposed to come back early the next week to put the gutters back on and do a final clean up. They never showed up. We called and left a message for Oakley after a couple of days to ask when he was going to put the gutters on and clean up, and within 90 minutes the gutters mysteriously "disappeared" out of our yard so he was unable to complete the job. He never cleaned up and I picked up trash, bits of metal and about 50 roofing screws from around the house myself. Unfortunately I did not get them all, and one of the roofing screws popped a tire on our car. I would NOT recommend this roofer. I have experienced other roofing crews in my life that were punctual, communicative and professional enough to clean up after themselves. This was not one of them. Though the quality of the work he actually did is fine, the overall experience was awful and was a huge inconvenience and disappointment.

+ -1 moreAll Do's no Don'ts with Oakley. Very honest and did things he thought would improve our home though I never thought to ask for them. Added a need roof vent on an addition a previous contractor built for us, larger improved drier vent, interior work above and beyond what I had expected. Always explained before hand what work was to take place for the day, arrived when scheduled to arrive and completed the job with out requiring final payment. I guess he being honest has faith in his fellow man (his customers) to be as honest as well? Which I am.
Description of Work: He showed up as scheduled. Was very knowledgeable in what we needed, came up with a quote I agreed on to do additional work I requested within this price quoted. We agreed on the deposit amount which I gave him and scheduled the job to be performed in May 2013. He showed up earlier then scheduled and completed the job (note even before I made the final payment) and completed the jobs at hand before the requested due date!. He went above and beyond...added a larger Dryer vent (never requested it but he thought it best), installed improved attic vents plus added one NEVER installed on an addition we had done, by previous contractor. Closed up/ removed skylights per my request and had his 'Interior' man work for three long days prepping vacant holes in ceilings to make skylights virtually disappear! Replaced a damaged section of exterior wall with Hardy board, performed all needed calking and did an excellent clean up as well as explaination about our new and improved metal roof...like how to walk on it! Promised to follow through with FPL to allow me to receive a rebate they offer for the improved energy saving roof. Liked the fact Oakley would be there for any all problems that might occur for the next twenty years. He stated the roof is good for thirty by the way! Final note, will receive a lower annual home insurance cost every year because of the metal roof and the fact that we removed the old (non Miamia Dade county approved) sky lights. .

+ -1 morea perfectionist and only does top notch work. I highly recommend them for anyone needing a new roof or roof repair. Another company's estimate was much higher and I am sure the work wouldn't have been as good. The owner does the work himself with a helper so he is onsite making sure every detail is right. We are older and have had this house for 40 years and this is by far our best experience getting anything done on our house. This tin roof should last for 50 years and Oakley gave us a 20 year guarantee besides which is higher than other roofers because he is sure of his work and that it will last.
Description of Work: Our 15 year old roof (tar and gravel) had to be replaced because the prior roofer (Ranger Roofing) didn't do a good job and cut corners, causing our roof to leak and need repairs sooner than it should have. In fact it caused Oakley Roofing an extra days work because of the way they applied the roof material and even the inspector was shocked at how it was done. Our first roof lasted 27 years and it was the same kind. We were referred to Oakley Roofing by the screened porch contractor because of some leakage. They went over and beyond what was required. A lot of wood had to be replaced. We changed to a tin roof since the price wasn't that different. Even the sceptical City Inspector told us how impressed he was with their work and they built a trust with him. They put way more screws and nails in then were required and did a perfect job.
