Did not finish the job after payment in full. They blame Pella for lack of parts. Horrible service and unresponsive.

Did not complete the job. I made the mistake of paying in full then can't get them back. They blame everyone but themselves. Horrible service. They claim they can't get parts from Pella. They do not communicate.

I hired Fred's Contracting Services on recommendation of the Pella salesman. I had not read the Angie's review of "F," and my experience was very different. It shows that you need more than one review to judge. I found Fred to be very experienced, polite, and hard working, and his carpenters tried hard to do a good job. That was important because we had to pass inspection with the City of West Palm Beach, never an easy thing. I don't claim to be an expert on window installation but the City inspector clearly is, and he complimented the work done by the carpenters. Fred's initial quote was for removal and installation, but upon removing some of the 1981 windows in the sun room the carpenters discovered severe rot due to previous improper construction. The job was to have taken one week but ended up taking four weeks. I was at Fred's mercy since the additional work had not been bid, but I feel he charged me a fair price. The bottom line is, would I employ him again? The answer is "Yes."

The windows were installed incorrectly, they all leaked, the rain was pouring in drywall all got damaged, he did not take the blame he blamed it on Pella window company and the company blamed it on him. You could not open the windows because he used the wrong screws they were too long. He did not ever look at the product approval he would have known at that time how to install them but he knew everything. He tried leveling our upstairs floor and when I questioned anything he said everything was good but when it was all said and done not one job he did was done correctly. We have since this experience have had to hire a real GC that knows how to do things he was one of a few people who brought this inferior work to our attention. We had a roofer even tell us the windows were wrongly installed. But his answer to us was I have been installing windows for 22 years and it was not his fault. The best thing this so called contractor said or kept telling us that everything was up to code. License and insured does not mean you know anything. Before this we had him do door jams, floor leveling. None of his work was plum or level. When he did the door jams his workers even cut into the main beam and he said that this was okay and added a filler piece in. The door jams were not square or plum and never even came close to reaching the floor. Leveling the floor was another issue he never jacked the floor and when we question he said the floor was being done correctly also. They never had any jacks to lift the floor up withafter about a month or two the beams started to sag because he never used any steel beams to do leveling. Our new GC used jacks and steel beams to level the floor. In closing the so called contractor does not know anything when it comes to renovation or building and it is sad that he is out there working on other peoples homes and doing nothing up to code. He is very very expensive considering that all his work was far from good. He charges approximately 600 -1000 per day depending on the amount of workers that are present this is far too much money for a glorified handy man not a contractor.
