This was one of the worst experiences of my life. I was under a lot of pressure because my husband was receiving treatment for cancer out of the country, and the roof had hurricane damage which had to be fixed. I signed a contract and gave them a 50% deposit in August, 2007. In December they still had not started because they had a disagreement with the building department. I later learned that they then started the job without getting the permit. In February I got an email from the company owner saying that the job was done and tht it looked "good." He wanted payment, so I sent the other half. I arrived back in the States in April to see that not only was the job not finished, the stucco was extensively damaged, and roofing material was literally hanging over the sides of the parapets. It looked so bad that first the city cited me for having a damaged roof, then they cited me for starting a job without having the necessary building permit. The owner of the company kept claiming that they couldn't do anything about the parapets because there was rotten wood in them. I told him that the salesman had told me that was why the roof was so expensive -$21,000 for a flat roof on a 1500 square foot house - they had to roof the parapets. They did not get a building permit and finish the job until July. They left junk on the roof, and cut all the television cables but did not reinstall them. they broke roofing tiles on an adjoining roof climbing over it to reach the job, which they did not fix. There were leaks along a junction with an adjoining porch roof which were never attended to. It is now two years later and there is a soft spot and a leak in one of the corners of the house. I filed a complaint with the Better Business Bureau, but they have never responded. They do not answer their phone.
Description of Work: They were supposed to replace my existing flat roof with parapets with a commercial quality roof. I had to be out of the country so they were going to do it without my presence.
