The work went very badly. While both sides agreed that the repaired driveway would not be structurally "like new," we were assured repeatedly during the sales process that it would look great. It does not. The contractor told us he would replace the border of the driveway and we bought two pallets of bricks. Once he discovered that the driveway did not have a concrete base (which we had told him) he replaced only some of the bricks. Because he did not have dark bricks salvaged from removing the original edge, he dug bricks out of the middle of the driveway and replaced them with bricks that do not sit flush. Instead of using a sand that sets up when wet to seal the driveway he used white concrete, which looks awful. Worse, some of the cement blew onto the surface of the bricks and set up. He then sealed the driveway before the bricks could dry, causing an unsightly white efflorescence to be trapped beneath the sealer. He sent a worker who spent a few minutes correcting some of the bricks, but in the process left areas of the driveway unsealed (the solvent that removes the efflorescence removes the sealer.) The contractor promised to correct the problem, but has not. He promised over the phone to bring the president of the company to inspect the job, but did not keep the appointment. The president of the company promised face to face to come to the house to see the job, but did not. Most conversations with the person who did the job, Tom Siebert, lead to him shouting within 60 to 90 seconds.
