Response from ServiceOne Air Conditioning & Plumbing LLC
Dear Member, We appreciate your taking the time to give us a review. We are sincerely sorry that you had a less than great experience. And it is never our intent to come across to you or any customer as "high pressure" sales people. According to our records from the maintenance call from 4/24/14, it shows that we found a couple of concerns with the system while performing your maintenance. We found that your system was low on refrigerant, and fortunately for you, you took advantage of a special deal with Angie's List that included a pound of refrigerant. Unfortunately after weighing in 1 lbs. of refrigerant into your system, you were still low on refrigerant. We did recommend the additional refrigerant at additional cost. We also noted that you had an electrical component that had shown signs of wear and tear, and nearing the end of its useful life. This is not uncommon on a 17 year old cooling system in Central Florida. We gave you a price for this component. You informed us of a home warranty, and at that point we finished up the maintenance and went on our way, as it was obvious that you would have your warranty take care of any repairs that were needed. Which makes sense to us. Unfortunately our technician cannot remember the appointment since it dates back 15 months since he was there. I can say this, when we see issues or find things that concern us about a customer's home comfort system, and then find out a customer has a warranty through a different provider, we typically don't waste much time trying to "sell" any repairs or anything. It just doesn't make sense. So, saying all that, I do apologize if we came off as "high pressure" salesman. We value our reputation and our high marks from customers. Our goal is to give all of our customers great service. You have requested us and are paying us to do a service. It would be poor service on our part if we did not inform you of what we see that needs attention, and educate you as to why you should take care of the items that we find. In many cases, not addressing the little problems lead to bigger ones. It is always the customers choice to have us address issues if we see them, or to have us do nothing at all. In your case, for you, it simply made sense for you to have your warranty provider handle these items. Unfortunately, most home warranty providers typically will not repair or replace worn components until they have failed, causing your or your tenants to be without cooling or heating depending on the time of year. I equate it to being in your car, broken down on the side of the road. A week before, your mechanic just told you about the problem that caused the break down while you were getting an oil change. He gave you the option to repair the item then, and the repair was declined. The breakdown along the road could have been avoided. If we take care of you before it becomes an emergency, it prevents you or your tenant from being stranded for any period of time without A/C or Heating. Once again I hate that you had a less than great experience with our company! Please feel free to call me with any questions or concerns that you might have. Sincerely, Billy Gouty President / Partner ServiceOne Air Conditioning & Plumbing, LLC
