Called Serviceone for emergency service on a Sunday afternoon when we snapped our outside faucet off the side of the house. They called me back in less than 30 minutes and came out to the house less than an hour later. A detailed estimate was provided along with details on how they planned to fix the pipe inside the block wall & what he could do to help preventing something like this from happening again. The work was done very professionally and my wife was able to take her shower less than 4 hours from the start of the ordeal.

We were experiencing a shortage of hot water for our showers and called ServiceOne Air Conditioning and Plumbing to see what the problem might be. Felix, the plumbing technician, arrived promptly and discovered that one of the heating elements in our seven year old water heater had gone bad as well as the thermostat associated with it. The options were to rebuild the 50 gallon water heater with new heating elements and thermostats for $300 or to purchase a new water heater for $850. Since the rebuild would not have any warranty associated with it, we decided to go with the new water heater which carried a six year warranty on the tank. Felix returned the next day as planned and expertly installed the new water heater. He was very courteous and neat and had the water heater installed in short time. He had us turn on a hot water faucet and made sure all air was out of the lines and that hot water was running properly before he left.

The technician appeared nice and well dressed, He began servicing the unit and shortly after he began he stated there was a problem with my drain pipe going to the exterior of the house and therefore I needed to have it replaced or have a pump installed to fix the issue. He indicated he was not able to suction any water, we discussed repair vs replacement of the system. After he left I was considering the repairs and I decided to try to see if there was indeed an issue. I connected my vacuum in the same way he had connected his and was able to suction the water out of the system without any issues.
Description of Work: He looked at the air conditioner and told me I had a broken drain pipe somewhere under the concrete slab, checked everything else and replaced a filter that I provided.

Response from ServiceOne Air Conditioning & Plumbing LLC
Dear member, Thank you for taking my call the other day! As I said on the phone, it is quite possible that you are getting some water out of your drain line even if it is cracked. The drain line runs through another pipe under your home. We call it a line chase. If your drain line has a crack in it, and water leaks into the chase, when you begin applying your shop vac to the line, it could potentially suck water out of the chase. As you know, we offered to come out with a field supervisor at no charge to verify our diagnosis, to which you agreed and set up an appointment time. Unfortunately, no one was home upon our appointment time, and we were unable to get ahold of you. We hope everything is ok, but we would really appreciate you getting back to us, and scheduling out field supervisor out to look this over a bit further and confirm what our technician diagnosed. Thank you again, and please do get back to us! The follow up appointment is no charge to you, and we will both feel better knowing a confirmed diagnosis. Sincerely, Billy Gouty President / Partner

We purchased a "Big Deal" for $135 that included the price of the service call and One (1) hour of service. I had purchased this earlier in the week online, but unfortunately they overlooked it. When I called on Thursday to ask when I could be scheduled, Dillen was so apologetic and went out of his way to make sure I was still satisfied. He scheduled the work to be done on SATURDAY. Yes, Saturday! And get this...no additional charges! I was told the Name of the person making the service call and the time. Felix arrived right on time, assessed the scope of the work to be done, and started immediately! Felix was such a pleasure to work with. He explained everything that he was going to do. Advised us that a small access panel in our closet would have to be enlarged to have more working room behind the tub enclosure. All in all Felix finished up in about 45 minutes. The faucet worked, the area was clean, and Felix was a pleasure! I have found a lifelong plumber! And now that I know they service Air Conditioning Units.....!!!

I met with Project Manager Otto Boy to discuss the issues I was concerned about. I have a 22 year old Trane compressor, which, as Otto pointed out happened to be mismatched with the air handler. I had suspected for some time that very bad workmanship had been performed on the air handler. Otto was very good at identifying what may or may not be wrong while still letting me make the decisions. I knew I wanted another Trane for the following reason: When we moved into the house - my neighbor kept asking if we were home all day, because he heard the compressor constantly running. Then we received a $400 electricity bill. We thought it may have been the pool pump, but the previous owner said he doubted it because it was fairly new. After our second $400 bill and the neighbor insisting that the compressor was still running all day while we were not home, we figured it must be the AC. Turns out the compressor relay was welded shut and had been running 24/7 for 2 solid months. Despite that impressive feat, we decided we needed a bigger, more efficient system so we chose to replace it with another Trane - the Hyperion system. Otto gave us all kinds of options and explained them all but we made the final decisions based on our own research - no hard sell. We were scheduled for installation the following week. His team of two installers removed all of the old installation and created a new concrete pad for the new compressor. They removed and rebuilt the entire air handler platform which I was convinced had been improperly installed. The entire system was installed in less than eight hours and my wife and I could not have been happier. We can definitely tell the difference. We purchased an ultraviolet air purifier. What a fantastic difference that made in our air quality! And it is Wi-fi enabled so we can create schedules and control the system from our smartphones. Otto and his team were great. We had a wonderful experience and would definitely use ServiceOne again.

Felix came to my house, knocked on my door, introduced himself and I showed him where the issue/area was. We ran through the sprinkler system and after he stuck his hand down into the soft/wet ground area where the suspected issue was, he located the leak and proceeded to dig up the area and conducted the necessary repairs. I would have to guess it was under 2 hrs time when all was said and done. Pleasant and professional. Thank you Felix and Service One Air Conditioning and Plumbing LLC..

These guys were terrific! If you look through the Angie's list ratings of AC companies, there are a lot with high ratings. However, most of the ratings are based on simple jobs such as annual maintenance work or minor repairs. If you are going to have major work done, check through the ratings on major jobs such as AC installations. There, the companies vary quite a bit. ServiceOne is rated quite highly even on the larger, more difficult jobs. My experience with ServiceOne might have been the best I've had for any household repair or installation. The difficult part of the job was with the duct work. The house was built in 1925 and had AC installed much later when the house was renovated. Unfortunately, the ducts had been potentially damaged by rodents. The AC ducts are in a VERY TIGHT crawl space underneath the house. The clearance is so low that only slender people can get into the crawl space and even they must go in on their stomachs or back and cannot turn over underneath the house. We wanted to find out if the ducts needed replacing, before doing any AC installation work. The two other AC companies that looked at the job recommended a much more expensive solution; they simply didn't want to try to even check out the ducts let alone replace the duct work. ServiceOne was different from the beginning. The project manager, Otto, who has long experience in AC, came in from the start looking at how to solve the problem. He recommended that one of his installers come by to take a look under the house. Pepe, the installer, went under the house and came back saying the ducts were badly damaged but that he could replace them. I was very impressed with his calm manner and "can do" attitude to what was going to be a difficult and unpleasant job. When they came back a couple days later with the full crew successfully replaced the ducts, installed the AC unit and rebuilt the air handler closet that had been damaged by the rodents. It looks beautiful now! I can't say enough about Otto and Pepe. Otto is low key, but extremely knowledgeable and a real people person. I got frequent updates from him including pictures (I was not at the house during the repair work), so that I could see the progress and have confidence that the ducts under the house were properly replaced. Otto went above and beyond what I expected. The work was done well, on time and professionally. They had to replace more ducts than originally thought but included the additional work without additional charge. Pepe is also a true asset to the company. I think there are few workers in the field with his combination of experience, competence and great attitude. .
Description of Work: ServiceOne installed a new AC unit, air handler and thermostat and replaced much of the AC duct work under the house.

I purchased the 1 Year HVAC Maintenance Package from Angies List for ServiceOne. I scheduled the appointment on a Thursday and they came out on Monday. I actually called them before I made the purchase to make sure they could come out the next week. I was going to purchase one from another company and he said he could not honor the ad on Angies List because it should have been removed. I now call everyone before I make a purchase. The service personal, Jorge, arrived on time. He was polite and diligent about his job. He informed me of what he was doing and when he was entering different rooms in the house. I didn?t realize that the ad/promotion was for only one HVAC unit. We have two, one for upstairs and one for down stairs. I called the office to discuss. I called them and they decided to do both for the same price but they wouldn?t return for the 2nd visit. I was okay with that compromise. We had a leak in the laundry room that my husband thought was because of the air conditioner. The first tech said the AC was not the issue, because he couldn't find the leak. In short, he completed the maintenance on the system with no issue. Issue: I explained when I initially called that I was concerned about a leak. The office should have scheduled a more experienced person that could have found the leak on the first visit. Moreover, they should have asked me questions to determine the number of HVAC systems because the ad was only for one. If they had done a more thorough analysis up front I may not have had to pay for 2 additional visits maybe only one more. It is possible that the 2nd person would have needed the extra time and my total cost would have been same. I liked the technicians so I will over look that. But, for review purposes I have to mention that. The 2nd visit was on the next day: I scheduled a plumber from ServiceOne for the leak. The plumber cut a hole in the ceiling and determined that it actually was the AC line causing the issue. He said he was a plumber and could not fix the issue but he identified the problem. He charged me $75 for his visit and said an AC guy would come out a few hours later. Overall I was pleased with the plumber. He worked hard to identify the leak and he was very polite. However, he left a big mess in my laundry room where he cut the hole out the ceiling. He should have cleaned up after himself. Maybe he thought the person coming behind him would do that but there was a 3 hour waiting period so it should have been cleaned up. He was really nice, so no worries. The 3rd person arrived to correct the issue with the leak. He was very professional. He explained things to me thoroughly so I could tell my husband. He allowed me time to take notes while he was talking. He provided me with potential options. He re-taped the line that he thought was causing the issue and suggested we leave the hole open for about month just in case they have to go back up. Out of all the technicians he (Anthony) was the most experienced and professional. I had to pay another invoice of $75. In total I paid $144 for Angies List Promotion + $75 + $75 = $294. This repaired a leak in the ceiling and serviced both air conditioning units. I still have to repair the hole in the ceiling at some point. I don?t know if that is reasonable pricing or not. I wanted the leak stopped. So I don?t have any complaints to date. I would definitely hire them again.

Poor experience, needed simple diagnosis and recharge. After repairman came out and gave ridiculous "book" price. The "comfort specialist" came out to give a "True competitive price". These guys had only one solution in mind, replace the unit. So to make that make more sense they jacked up the cost of repairs so the replacement was the only logical option. The long and short of it I was quoted $5100 first bid, $4300 for there second shot at it, and $3900 on their best price for replacement of a 2ton seer 14 unit. The repair was quoted at $2400 for a new coil with the excuse that the cost of parts was so high. I had the coil replaced by another company and those expensive parts were $400 and the total repair was $700.

Response from ServiceOne Air Conditioning & Plumbing LLC
Dear Member, We appreciate your taking the time to give us a review. We are sincerely sorry that you had a less than great experience. And it is never our intent to come across to you or any customer as "high pressure" sales people. According to our records from the maintenance call from 4/24/14, it shows that we found a couple of concerns with the system while performing your maintenance. We found that your system was low on refrigerant, and fortunately for you, you took advantage of a special deal with Angie's List that included a pound of refrigerant. Unfortunately after weighing in 1 lbs. of refrigerant into your system, you were still low on refrigerant. We did recommend the additional refrigerant at additional cost. We also noted that you had an electrical component that had shown signs of wear and tear, and nearing the end of its useful life. This is not uncommon on a 17 year old cooling system in Central Florida. We gave you a price for this component. You informed us of a home warranty, and at that point we finished up the maintenance and went on our way, as it was obvious that you would have your warranty take care of any repairs that were needed. Which makes sense to us. Unfortunately our technician cannot remember the appointment since it dates back 15 months since he was there. I can say this, when we see issues or find things that concern us about a customer's home comfort system, and then find out a customer has a warranty through a different provider, we typically don't waste much time trying to "sell" any repairs or anything. It just doesn't make sense. So, saying all that, I do apologize if we came off as "high pressure" salesman. We value our reputation and our high marks from customers. Our goal is to give all of our customers great service. You have requested us and are paying us to do a service. It would be poor service on our part if we did not inform you of what we see that needs attention, and educate you as to why you should take care of the items that we find. In many cases, not addressing the little problems lead to bigger ones. It is always the customers choice to have us address issues if we see them, or to have us do nothing at all. In your case, for you, it simply made sense for you to have your warranty provider handle these items. Unfortunately, most home warranty providers typically will not repair or replace worn components until they have failed, causing your or your tenants to be without cooling or heating depending on the time of year. I equate it to being in your car, broken down on the side of the road. A week before, your mechanic just told you about the problem that caused the break down while you were getting an oil change. He gave you the option to repair the item then, and the repair was declined. The breakdown along the road could have been avoided. If we take care of you before it becomes an emergency, it prevents you or your tenant from being stranded for any period of time without A/C or Heating. Once again I hate that you had a less than great experience with our company! Please feel free to call me with any questions or concerns that you might have. Sincerely, Billy Gouty President / Partner ServiceOne Air Conditioning & Plumbing, LLC
