This company came recommended by a carpenter who was friends with the owner. That should have been a red flag. Hopkin Roofing had poor management, fast and furious workmanship, no attention to detail, tried to skip several important agreed upon extras until I insisted. Ridge vent on contract, but workers tried to skip installing. I had to insist. There were several phone calls made before I got my ridge vent. Then, they left out part of the filter liner that keeps out creatures, leaves, sticks, etc. I had to insist it was installed. Roof corners weren’t even, edges were done differently, and I’m still picking up pieces of metal that could send humans and pets to the emergency room. Second generation owner showed up to sell roof and write contract, but I didn’t see him again until I refused to pay until several important details were taken care of. When he finally did show up, he admitted that he would have seen a better job was done had he actually been there. (who says that?) The foreman, who only showed up at the beginning and the end, didn't care about anything but getting the job done and getting paid. Many huge nail ends were left sticking out from underneath outside under edge of roof, including the most visible areas, until I insisted they were cut. Even then, I actually had to hang string on them in order for the foreman to see what I was talking about. When they were cut, there were huge gashes left which I had to repair myself. Very disappointed in the overall outcome and I wish I had hired a smaller First Generation company instead. I will be living with this mistake for a very long time.

Hopton and his crew did an excellent job under very adverse conditions. I got pricing for the same job from at least 5 other firms, and Hopton's was the lowest with the best material provided. Once the crew got started, they were on the job every day until they finished , even working in conditions I would never have expected. The crew was very professional, cooperative and respectful. Hopton and his office assistant were very responsive with pricing , information and addressing minor concerns . Overall, we were very pleased with the result.

Didn't seem to take over 15 minutes to give me this large bid. Stay far away from this company.

Signed the contract on Wednesday and they were working the next Monday morning. Crew was very polite and Paris is a wonderful person to deal with. Eric(the owner)came out to inspect the work being done and actually strapped on the tool belt and began replacing wood himself. Both Eric and Paris were a delight to do business with and I am very happy that I chose Hopton Roofing.

Called Hopton Roofing and a representative came out the same day. Very honest and told my husband and I the leak could be repaired we did not need a new roof now. The representative said out roof would last another 1-2 years. Another company we had called said we needed a new roof, no repair could be done. The representative was very nice and again very honest. We will call this company when we put a new roof on our house. The price that we were given was 700.00 less than the other company.

Very well. After researching roofers in the area of DeLand, FL and obtaining quotes, Hopton was my choice. One minor problem occurred when the crew was stripping the old roof. One of the crew lost control of a stripping tool and it fell through the vent hole in the roof and damaged the interior ceiling in my living room. However, Mr. Hopton located a drywall repair specialist who patched the ceiling perfectly and Hopton roofing crews repainted the entire ceiling in the living room, breakfast nook, kitchen and entrance foyer. I couldn't have asked for anything more.
