Description of Work: An in-home service call on my 3-year old GE washer discovered a short circuit that caused an electrical arc every time the machine was plugged in. After checking a number of things the technician ordered parts and returned two days later. When these parts didn't fix the problem, he suggested either getting GE involved which could be time consuming and expensive or replacing the machine with another brand. He restored the original parts and did not charge us for the replacement parts or for the service call. We only had to pay for the initial visit which I thought was more than fair. We now have a Samsung with an extended warranty. I highly recommend Fords for both their responsiveness and their honesty. I will call them for any other appliance repair that is beyond my capability to perform.

+ -1 moreMY DA husband turned to water off to the washer, while we were away for awhile,. At least he thought he turned it off. But when we got back, he turned the water on, which was already on. So he turned the knobs to the off position, when I tried to do laundry, no water ran into the machine. DA checks the circuits, but not the turnoff knobs. He said it was the pump or something. So I should call an appliance person, which I did. I called Angie's List and got a few names, chose Ford, because they gave senior discounts. The only problem was I waited most of the day for the repairman. He showed around 4PM. But I had to take into consideration that it was pouring rain that day. Really storming. Very nice person. I definitely would use this company again.

+ -1 moreIt was unfortunate that my refrigerator decided to quit cooling on Memorial Day weekend. It was late Sunday night by the time I called their office. Of course they were closed but the message left me a phone # to call for off hours emergencies. Bobby took my call. He was heading home from the bowling alley but he turned around right away and headed straight over to my house in 15 minutes. He was very professional and knowledgeable. He had it fixed in about a hour just after midnight (Memorial Day). The only thing I did not like was paying a trip charge in the amount of $100 because of it being off hours but that was to be expected. The main thing it has been 3 weeks since repair and my refrigerator works better than it has in a while and for some reason it runs a lot quieter.
Description of Work: Defrosted Freezer and changed defective Defrost Thermostat on my refrigerator.

Description of Work: Young man came in who had been working with the company since he was 17, and his now 30. He has been with the company for quite awhile. He came in and looked at my dishwasher and new right away what was wrong with it and fixed it. He called me 15 minutes before to let me know what time he was coming.

+ -1 moreThey are really quite good and very accommodating. They charge a standard price like everybody else so it is acceptable. We've used them for 15-20 years and we will absolutely continue to use them. We've probably used them a dozen times and they have always been A-rated; otherwise we wouldn't continue to use them.
Description of Work: We use Ford's Appliance every time we have little things go wrong with our refrigerator, dishwasher or whatever.
