Service man at Hobo was experienced and knowledgeable enough to advise what part I needed. Greensouth John Deere in Gainesville were nice and they tried, but they did not know the ins and outs of my model of tractor, so they wanted me to haul it in. Hobo guessed immediately what might be wrong, as they said it is a common problem with my tractor model, and advised trying the electronic part. They saved me hundred of dollars by avoiding hauling my tractor to the John Deere Service place in Gainesville. I highly recommend Hobo Tractor as they really seem to know all about tractors, more than the specialists at the John Deere place in Gainesville. The defective part was an electronic relay located near the thermostat which automatically shuts off the ingnition to the fuel pump if it senses that the engine is overheating. We knew it was an electrical problem and replaced fuses and relays, and took the switch off to Green South, who checked it out for free, and found it OK. Hobo knew that this relay often fails on my tractor model. Thiis another example of making things overly complicated, just more things to go wrong, and it did in this case. I did not even know it had this relay, as the older tractors do not.
