Started project in June and finally finished in Sept. No one was ever in the office when I went there. Drove all the way to East Jacksonville to pick out granite and they never paid the deposit so the granite I picked was returned to the yard. I had to contact the fabricator direct and via pictures was able to get the granite. Cabinets came in broken and the wrong size (no one checked them prior to the installation. Delay after delay and we finally had to hold 10% of contract to get them to come and fix everything. The price was OK but it's true, you get what you pay for.

We used Florida Kitchens on a spec house we built. They did excatly what they said they would. Provided us with a great looking kitchen and bathrooms (which helped us drive the price of the house up in value to the buyers) at a very good price. I would recomend this company without giving it a thought.

From the very beginning, until everything got ordered, they were very good about getting with me. Once things were ordered and I gave them part of the money, they started delaying the process. I felt like I was being pushed off. They said they would be here the next day, but they wouldn't show up. I'd call them and they said they told me they would not be back until the next week. They talked me into installing a laminate flooring in the kitchen and said we could put a gate up between the kitchen and dining room and keep the dog there so he doesn't soil the carpet in the living room. He assured me that the laminate would not be harmed if the dog had an accident on it. There was a delay in getting the flooring after the cabinets arrived, and I'm not sure that he actually ordered the floor until I asked him where it was. He finally brought the flooring and installed it in a few minutes. I believe the floor didn't have enough time to acclimate and parts of the floor are started to swell, even where the dogs did not have an accident. Even if an ice cube is on the floor for just a minute, it will begin to swell. I would have never installed a floor in a kitchen and dining room that cannot get wet. He assured me it was a good deal, but did not tell me it could not get wet. Buyer beware.
Description of Work: They put in a new kitchen and installed flooring in the dining room and kitchen.

Response from FLORIDA KITCHENS
We sold her cabinets at first and told her they would take 3 to 4 weeks to receive. She called almost every other day starting a week later to check the schedule. We always were there then we said we would be. She was so happy with her cabinets she then asked us to do her floors. I told her she would need to put a gate up between the kitchen/dining and the living room to keep the dogs off the floor no off the carpet. She loved the floor at first but then called and said it was delaminating. I went over and met with her son which there I observed 4 dogs and several puppies urinating on the floor. I explained again the gate was to keep the dogs off the laminate floor. I told him I would call Shaw to have them come out and see if I could get them a new floor under the manufacturer’s warranty. I told him it would be smart not to have all the dogs and puppies present when they showed up. This advise was ignored and when Shaw sent an independent inspector he arrived to see the dogs along with urine and feces all over the floor. He then took samples to test and stated the floor failed due to the urine and feces remaining on the floor.
