When I first contacted LWR for an estimate (which I even asked if there was a cost to get an estimate and was told no by the person in the office), the person that returned my call (which I later learned was Mr. Walker himself) was rather rude until I informed him that I did know what I was talking about. He told me that I did not know what materials that I would need, which I then told him exactly what I needed and that I only needed his company to install the roof. Mr. Walker himself came to my home and told me that he would send out someone to do and estimate, which I thought was strange, but its his gas he wasted. When the person showed up to write the estimate, he sat in my living room and went over the estimate with myself and my mother. I asked if I were to have LWR to get the materials, would they be less expensive, which he contacted Mr. Walker and he said that they would not be since I was going to be getting them at the same place that they get them. I was also concerned about materials being left in my yard, and we were told that they had a rolling magnet that they used to pick up all materials that were dropped, which was very satisfying to me since I have pets that I worry about. I will say that the crew that did the job, was very prompt, EXCEPT, for the person that was, I think, supposed to be the Foreman. This person was a talker and a smoker that left cigarette butts in the yard!!! Also when they went to lunch and came back, this person brought me a receipt for two boxes of screws that they had purchased at one of the most expensive places there is, and informed me that Mr. Walker said that I was to pay for this. Mind you, during the explanation of the estimate, I was told that the wood strips that the metal roof would be screwed down to would be put down with a nail gun that LWR would provide, obviously this was not the case! These screws, I could have purchased when I purchased the rest of the materials at a far less expense. When the crew finished, they did not bring out a magnet to pick up any dropped materials, they did a quick walk around and picked up only what they could see, then left with the remaining supplies that I paid for!!! Needless to say, we have been picking up screws for weeks!!! There was also a problem with the corners that were not completed that I had to make numerous call backs to get them completed, and per Mr. Walker, the way they had left them, was they way they should look....I THINK NOT!!! There was also places along the edges where they taken the old roofing loose to put the new edging on and had not screwed it down and it was sticking out from the house. I tried numerous times to speak with Mr. Walker regarding the problems and have him to come out and to get a Wind Mitigation Form for my insurance, but he informed me that he was a busy man and even though this was something I had told him I needed from the start, he told me that I would have to get it myself. Mr. Walker also stated that the supplies are normally taken and no one usually says anything since they are happy with the work...pardon me...and how many times have you done this???? He went on to say that when he sent someone out to do the estimate that it cost him $150, OMG, is he nuts or what? If he pays someone that amount just to come out and do an estimate that takes about 30 minutes then I need that kind of work!! This man is extremely rude, and once he has your money, thinks he can tell you that you are stupid....this is where he is wrong!!! He has a very poor attitude when it comes to speaking with women that know what they are talking about and will try to talk over them, so even though his workers do good work, he will lie, and even curse once he has your money. Personally I do not foresee this man standing behind his warranties.
