Ace Solves It All

They were great. Provided prompt service, had the parts on the truck. fixed it in about an hour. did not charge for standard service call because i am an Angie's list subscriber, and had a $25 coupon too.

What a rip off. You expect the deals from Angie to cost more than the deal price, but this was over the top. I wanted an additional light in my walk in closet. The deal was $99 for two hours. I expected it to cost an additional hour plus materials. No way. They quote by the job, not by the hour. It turned out the 2.5 hour job cost almost $700. In addition they removed the builder supplied light because it was not code leaving me with one light. This could have been replaced with a simple $20 fixture. Since I had removed everything from the closet before I was told about the rip off, I let them proceed. I mentioned I had just had additional lighting installed in a condo we own out of the area requiring more time at far less expense. I was told that things are much more expensive in Orlando. Oh yeah, I could have an additional light installed for another $500. Beware!

I paid $75 for 2 hours of electrical contractor work. Contractor showed up on one day to estimate the work that I wanted done. He was professional and polite. He asked if I was using an Angie’s list coupon. I told him yes. I showed him the lights I wanted installed (I had already purchased them) and where to install them (under the eaves of my second story). He said he’d have to come back that weekend to actually do the work. I also showed him some other lights I wanted installed in the garage. He estimated $300 to install 3 fluorescent light fixtures on my garage celling. He would have to run wire, etc. Seemed a bit high to me. He came back that weekend and installed the lights under the eaves in a little over an hour. I decided to not have him install the lights in the garage because of cost. Quality of the install of the other lights was good…but I really wish the automatic on switches were adjusted a bit differently, which of course you cannot test until dark. I don’t want to call them out to do this (the lights are mounted too high for me to reach with a standard ladder) since it will cost me a lot I’m sure. Overall the technician did a good job. The Angie’s List coupon deals, and I assume they are all like this, are just to get you connected. The slightest bit of additional work will be charged at the regular rates …which can be high!! But, you can be pretty comfortable that you will get decent quality of service.

Very polite and professional, and apologetic for having my having to pay the $99 for not much work. Also explained an excellent service program through is company for my subsquent consideration. Will definitely use again for plumbing, electrical or HVAC work.

Technician arrived on time and was well spoken and friendly. He serviced the a/c unit and provided some suggestions to keep it running well and he didn't try to up-sell anything that wasn't necessary. I was happy and satisfied. No complaints here.

They did a fine job. They were pleasant.

The purchase of the Angie's List coupon more than covered the cost of the service call and fuel charge, plus diagnosing that my electrical problem wasn't in the circuit after lightning hit a neighbor's tree, the problem was the garbage disposal itself had died. The extra purchase price was for installing a new double GFCI outlet in my recently remodeled, nearly-finished kitchen. Now that the outlet is in place, I can proceed with the backsplash of glass tiles and split face marble. The two man Ace Solves It All crew performing the work did an excellent job, and left no mess. Both were obviously highly skilled, very personable, and communicated well. Punctual, polite, and professional: an Angie's List trifecta, embodied by Ace Solves It All. I am very satisfied.

I purchased a Big Deal coupon. It went well. They came back today as I purchased their annual free inspection plan. They do a basic inspection. He told me change rubber hoses once a year and asked me if I had problems.

That was fine. I paid more than what the deal was for, because there were parts involved. They were prompt and pretty efficient. The work was good. I asked for some other work estimate and I was not impressed with that.

Steve Matthews was the electrician sent according to the terms of an Angie's Big Deal - two hour's work for $99. We live in a modular home where some of the power switches need replacing. We had the replacement switches ready. Initially we were disappointed when Steve revealed his company policy did not allow replacement of this particular kind of switch since they prone to malfunctioning. But we appreciated the detailed information behind this policy. So we moved onto the security light that failed a couple of years ago. Steve pointed out the original light sensor had been installed upside down leading it to take on water and fail. Fortunately he had a replacement in the van. Again we appreciated the level of detail about the procedure and how to change the settings of the light. We would not hesitate to call Steve Matthews of ACE if ever we had electrical work. He is obviously an expert in his field in addition to being a most pleasant and considerate person.

Service personnel was ontime performed the service and left.

I called Ace after waiting for a day and 1/2 for another provider to show up. I call Ace and they told me they would be out between 1 and 3. Jerry showed up a little after 1 and proceeded to check my system. It was 88 degrees in my house and he was sweating as well. He check the unit in my garage, then he went outside and check the main unit. Then he told me what the problem was and got the part and fixed it. He even waited until my house cooled off a bit to make sure it was working. Told me about their warranty and that they would come out and check my system again. And if I needed anymore help just to call them. Jerry did a wonderful job and if i ever need help again I would call and ask for Jerry to come out again. This was an Angie's special price service. Service was performed well.

Mike was very punctual, i n fact he was at least 15 minutes early, which was great. He put and quot;footiesand quot; on to protect our floors. We explained what was wrong and he set right to work. He had the expertize and equipment to fix the problem pronto. Have used the tub since then with no problems. We bought a Big Deal for $75 and it was worth every penny. A great value. We would use Mike and ACE again and recommend them to friends.

I called them and made an appointment. When it got close to the appointment, they called and said they couldn't come. We rescheduled for July 13 and they said they'd be there between 1-3pm. No one came and when I called they said their guy could be there by 5pm but he's still on the road. At that time it was too late for me and I told them I didn't want them to come.

In late February, I purchased two and quot;Ceiling Fan Installedand quot; Big Deals based on this provider's Angie's List rating. I waited until July to attempt to schedule given the increased volume note on the offer. When I did schedule after waiting four months, it still took more than a week for an appointment. On the day of the appointment, scheduled from 9am-noon, no one showed or called. When I called the Ace office at 9:30am, I was told that the tech for our area was delayed on another job and that it would be at least an hour. I received a second phone call an hour later telling me it would be the end of the day, 5:30-7:00pm. At 5:30pm I received a third call stating it would be 7:00pm, which I found unacceptable and asked to reschedule. I was told that the Saturday time, which had been previously offered to me, was now no longer available and the next available time was the following Monday, again from 5:30-7:30pm. On the following Monday when the tech arrived, I reviewed the two fans/rooms for installs. He returned to his truck, came back into the house, and informed me: 1) that the job would take more than two hours, 2) that there would be an additional $129 charge per fan to complete the installations, and 3) since I had only paid $99 for a two-hour service that the additional change was above and beyond what I had already paid. When I showed him the TWO Big Deal coupons, that state clearly and quot;$75 for a ceiling fan installation,and quot; not $99 for two hours of service, he said that didn't matter ... that the price was only to install a fan in an existing ceiling fan housing. NO such restriction appeared ANYWHERE on the Big Deal information or offer. Not only was this a hassle-filled scheduling debacle with this company, it was also clearly a bait and switch situation. I am very disappointed and appalled that Angie's List would allow such a vendor to offer promotions of this kind. Big Deals require certain ratings with Angie's List. When I dug into the research and checked the Better Business Bureau ratings (shame on me for trusting Angie's List and not doing so to begin with), I found that the owner of this company had declared bankruptcy on a similarly named business not many years prior and that another customer wrote a similar review after I purchased the Deals. Please beware of Big Deals and certainly of doing business with this company.

Jerry and Juan were on time and introduced themselves. They found and fixed the problem quickly and got it fixed. The only thing I'm not sure on is if it will last. They said it had a 1 year warranty but who knows for sure. It was just a leaking valve. Also they did do the work before giving me an estimate but since it was FL in the summer I'm not going to knock that so much. 300 seems a bit much for 3 lbs of Freon but with the new EPA stuff it might be just fine.

The technician that was sent out was very friendly and knowledgeable. He was diligent and on time. A pleasure to work with, look forward to working with again. Definitely feel confident with this company.

Ace Solves It All came when they were supposed to come. Their price and professionalism are excellent.

It did not go well because he basically did nothing. He kept telling me that my whole house needed to be repiped. Though it only cost me $99, on the recipt is showed that it would have cost someone else $70 just for him to come out and look at the problem. He is basically in the business of giving you estimates. Everytime I showed him something that I wanted to have done, he just said "no, you can't do that, you need to repipe the house". He tried to sell me on a $1,000 repipe of my house, that was pretty much his sole purpose.

The tech ran super late for the 1st appointment and the dispatcher was very customer service oriented in making it right. Ace is lucky to have such a great dispatcher that delivers great service. The technician came as scheduled and performed the job accordingly. He was great. The only reason I would not use the company again is strictly cost. I'm a pretty much DIY kind of person. I was just lazy that day.

It turned out fine. I paid more since I had two units and the deal was for one. They did a good job. They gave me estimates for additional work. All the estimates were high.

It was great. The technician was really nice. He did make some recommendations for some time in the future and was not pushy at all. They were not there on time but everything was else great.

I spoke with Steve about my one clogged drain to make sure the and quot;big dealand quot; would apply before I purchased it. I was able to get an appointment that day (great!), and Mike went to the home to clear the drain. I was not there, but the tenant let him in and showed him which drain was clogged. He left without clearing the drain, and called and left me a message that I needed a new garbage disposal for roughly $500. When I spoke to Steve again (the next day), he assured me that it was a misunderstanding. Mike returned to the home that day and cleared the drain. I did not get the garbage disposal replaced.

Spent over an hour and a half doing a very comprehensive inspection and main drain cleaning; this house is over 30 years old and i am getting ready to do a remodel of 2 bathrooms and kitchen; inspected under sinks, toilets, shower, hot water heater, and piping; wrote a detailed quote for all issues with options for different warranties; i thought their prices were high and told them so on their customer review form; i will spec out the job and get a number of additional quotes for comparison; this big deal was well worth the price......one of the best big deals i have purchased.
