Description of Work: Above the Rest fixed our broken garage door by reattaching the arm that pulls the garage door up. In the process, they also attached a wire that had come loose in the garage door opener. They were prompt, went above and beyond what we were asking without inflating the price.

Description of Work: Great Experience...... Before contacting this company we got an estimate from one of the local hardware stores to have an idea of what to expect. We used Angie's list to figure out who we should contact for another estimate. Because of their reviews we chose Above the rest Garage Doors. Doug was very pleasant, courteous and informative. Gave us our options and the estimates. We chose to go with Above the Rest because we wanted to support our local business. And we're happy we did, we spoke with and met Doug on Monday, he was never pushy, just informative. The tech (Manny) came out Thursday to install the door, he was friendly and performed his duties quickly and efficiently. By Friday we had our final inspection.

Description of Work: Called company explaining my garage door would not fully close. Doug advised me to make sure door sensors were aligned, with one sensor light bright green and the other red.. Sure enough, one was green the other a blinking red. I tilted the blinking red aligning it, and my garage door closed properly. His advice saved me a service call and who know how much $. Description of Work: Called Above the rest due to failing garage door opener at my home. Described the issue to the tech and gave him brand of opener. He said he could replace the circuit board in it but that this may not fix it at all or it may work for awhile and stop again. I appreciate his honesty.

Description of Work: Doug just completed the installation of my single garage door opener. Right from the start he was extremely responsive in responding to my call and coming to give me an estimate. I have to say that after the estimate, rather than before, I began researching the prices online. The initial prices at Home Depot and Lowes were less than his estimate for what seemed like a similiar product. After discussing this with Doug he was still willing to come over and explain to me that his model was a higher grade and quality although it is difficult for the average consumer to determine this. We agreed to a price, but I have to say that sometimes the person you deal with is more important than the final product or price. Doug has an extremely rare attitude in that he is most pleasant, has a great disposition, is very honest and friendly and it really was a pleasure to do business with him. He actually was so honest at one point that he told me that, if it were him, he would be very tempted to go with HD or Lowes to save $50 or so. No one would be so honest as to say that. Anyway he did a great job in about an hour and I introduced and recommended him to the President of our HOA goup.

Description of Work: Doug Berlin called me back in a very timely fashion, we set a date to talk about the garage door service I needed and we met. He checked my door and advised he could probably repair it but I had already made up my mind that the 22 year-old door should be replaced. I had already looked at doors available at the local big box store and was ready for sticker shock. I was surprised when he quoted what I thought was a very fair price for the door I wanted (brand name, insulated). We set a date for the installation and his service guy showed up and finished the job within a short period of time. I have been very happy with my new garage door.

Description of Work: Doug Berlin, owner of Above the Rest, came to my house to go over garage door choices with me, explaining in detail (including prices) about each one. He was very knowledgable, polite, and punctual. I made my choice and was told that no money was due until the job was complete and I was satisfied. After securing the permit required, his company called and scheduled an appointment for installation of my new door. Installers, Manny and John, arrived within the 2-hour window I was given and worked for approximately 5 hours (I had an oversized double door) installing my new door. They orkd non-stop, were very polite and professional. They cleaned everything up before they left and gave me many helpful hints on care and maintenance of the new door. I selected Above the rest to install my new door as a result of using them on a coupon del Angies Listpushed out last year for garage door lube and maintenance. I was very impressed with the service I got last year and told them that I would definitely call on them when I decided to get a new door. And...that's exactly what I did. They were great and I wold highly recommend them to anyone looking for this type of service. Thanks again Above the Rest AND Angie's List!!!!!
