Above The Rest Doors

I am so glad I went with Doug and Above the rest. Doug is just a really nice guy. It was a true pleasure to work with him. He didn't offer any coupons or slick promos yet was very fair in his pricing. In fact he was so fair to me as an Angie's customer that I gave him a nice tip, which is rare for me with home repairs :-) I will definitely call him when my opener or door needs repair or replacement and seriously suggest you do to.

Excellent service, on time, cleaned up when done. The owner Doug came out & gave the estimate & was excellent at explaining how the door & mechanism's work. I also have uneven concrete at the edge of the garage door & they were able to have the door seal properly when closed, the old door would not do that. The tech that installed was great! A+ to you all!

My apologies for not reviewing Above The Rest Garage Doors prior to this, as the service provided was EXCELLENT. This was supposed to be just a standard garage door servicing and maintenance. The gentleman from the company came out and did all he was supposed to do but then found a few things that were lacking in my garage door. The door is rather old and some bolts were missing, also the light fixture wasn't working properly. The gentleman told me about these things and then told me that he would fix everything at no extra charge. I was shocked and very pleased with the service and would absolutely use them again.

The experience was everything I expected. The installer was fast, courtious and cleaned up after the installation. He made sure I knew how everything operated.

The installation went quickly. He did accidentally knock off and break a light bulb globe. But it was not entirely his fault, as the globe was probably too loose in the first place, and he made it right with a discount and was very informative, professional, and friendly. Overall it was a very good experience.

Doug was very professional and provided a great deal of information to allow us to maintain the door in good working order. I highly recommend him. If we ever again need service, he will be the first person we call.

The experience was just as described on Angie's list. I called them around 9am and Doug answered the phone. He said he could be there between 12 - 2 and would call first. He called around 20 prior to arriving at aoround 12:30. Doug was very friendly and helpful -I would not hesitate to recommend him to friends and neighbors.

After looking through Angie's List for a local repair company I came upon Above the Rest Garage Door. It was early, before 9am, but Doug answered the phone. I explained the problem I was having the the garage door and he told me that he would be out within the hour. And he was. Doug was very knowledgable, explaining everything he was doing, and what the problem could be. Thankfully, after some adjustments to the garage door eye, it started working again. Doug also checked all the connections as well at stapling loose wires. All in all, the service call took about 30 to 45 minutes. Doug left and the garage door was working fine, even better than before, however when I went out to pick up the mail later that afternoon, the door stopped working again. Hmmm....I phoned Doug. Again he answered the phone and I told him the problem. He stated that he would be back that day, however because he was across town it wouldn't be until later that evening. I told him that would be fine. He called when he was on the way and checked out everything again, found the problem quickly, got it fixed, and it has been working perfect ever since. I would not hesitate to recommend Doug Berlin and Above the Rest Garage Door Repair to anyone.

Thanks to Doug with Above the Rest Garage Doors my first experience with Angie's List was absolutely fabulous. Doug is among one of the best service providers with whom I have ever had the pleasure of working. I called to request installation of a garage door opener and immediately spoke with Doug - a courteous, personable guy whom not only offered me next-day service but went so far as to discourage inquiries regarding options that perhaps would have benefitted him more than me. Doug arrived promptly, was friendly and professional and I would like to add went way above and beyond the call of duty (making up for deficiencies in the unit I had purchased). Thanks Doug!

When the door opener was installed there was an issue with new frequency the opener was programmed to. In the end, Doug went to bat for us and had the manufacturer provide a new frequency card that allowed the door to work flawessly and much more quiet with all the features we had requested.

On Sunday evening we suddenly were unable to open our garage door. The door has an automatic opener however it would only open a short distance, stop, and slam shut. I tried to manually open the door, but was unable to raise it very far without creating a potential safety hazard. I called Above the Rest that evening and talked to Manny. He was on his way home and called me back a short time later. He did a little schedule juggling and was able to come to our house the first thing the next day (Monday). Manny came out diagnosed the broken spring and recommended replacing both. Manny replaced both springs, lubed the system, and checked the wiring by the automatic opener motor to ensure a good connection. Manny was professional, polite, and knowledgeable. The good (or bad news) is that he completed the repair in about an hour and I was able to make my way to work. I would definitely use them again.

Cleaned the sensors, checked the doors, oiled the rollers where necessary. No hard sell as I asked if one of the door mechanisms needed replacing as it had become sluggish. He said it only needed a clean.

Doug Berlin is very easy to work with and profesional. Our garage door opener stopped working and we had to work with Doug by phone as we were currently out of town. He had no objection to using the new opener that we purchased and even gave us advise on which one to buy. This helped us save on the job, which was very important to us. Then he just charged us for the labor which was more than fair. After we set up the details for he job Doug worked very well with our house quests to schedule the installation of the operner. He was on time, did a grest job. It dedfinitely made it much easier to get the done. This is the second time we have used Doug and will use him again.

Owner of the company came out and replaced the broken springs himself with not the same type that broke, but installed much stronger springs so I wouldn't have a future problem...............very satisfied with his proptness and experience..........I wouldn't even consider hiring anyone else if I needed garage repairs or a door in the future

I called Doug on Thursday at noon. He came within the hour (as promised) and gave us a detailed quote and explained all the different possibilities. He was able to do the installation the next day (even with obtaining the city license). The job was done to our complete satisfaction in a VERY timely manner! I have worked in as an accountant in private industry for over 30 years (now retired) and can say he gives businessmen a good name-very professional, honest and punctual. HIGHLY recommended!

Above the Rest came out shortly after we called and at time that was convenient for us. Everything was explained in great detail, and although we we're nervous a whole new system would be required, it simply required a simple service call. Our problems were taken care of in about 30 to 35 minutes and how to avoid this issue in the future was fully explained. Highly recommended.

Doug came out in the morning and looked at our broken garage door opener. I didn't tell him that I had already had someone else look at it over a year ago. I decided not to have it fixed then as the other one worked fine. He found the same problem that the first guy found (fried circuit board) and told me that repairing it would cost about half of what installing a new unit would. The first guy told me it would be a wash and that I should replace it right away for $500. I decided to have the whole unit replaced after I was given the $325 quote. He didn't have a unit with him, but said he would send out another guy in the afternoon. Manny showed up later that day and removed the old unit and installed the new one in about an hour and a half. The new unit is beefier and quiter than the old one and it works flawlessly.

Amazing company and would highly recommend. Arrived on time, had great communication and very knowledgeable. Told me sensor was fine after an inspection report had said otherwise. Did not charge for coming because no work was done. I offered to pay trip charge only to be told they don't have one.

I called Above The Rest Garage Doors, and Doug showed up within an hour and looked at what needed to be done. He gave me a price much lower than i expected for the repairs, and was able to fix it on the spot. When he was done, he greased the spring and rollers, and swept up. He took the time to explain to me what he had done to repair it, and why the way it was done previously was incorrect. He also gave me tips on preventative maintenance. I am very pleased, and will be calling Doug again in the near future to replace my opener with a newer/quieter one.

Went amazingly well. Arrived a little late but called me to let me know he was stuck in traffic so no big deal. Performed the work fast, definitely knew what he was doing and gave me a lot of great tips to keep our garage in better shape in the future. Will definitely be in touch again if I ever need anything!
