Description of Work: Sub-Zero showed up when they said they would, performed the work contracted (replaced our old central a/c system in/out)and cleaned up after themselves. Their work was excellent!

Description of Work: 8/19/08 was my worst experience ( night mare)scam artist .Charlie took c.c. # to order part,& charged me $500.on my c.c. that I didn't agree to.But the unit never worked rite. they were, on call back every few months (iced up ) not cooling .until 2014 I had it replaced by Rex Air GREAT AC contractor !!!

We bought the A/C about 2 years ago and it would freeze up. They would come by and say they fixed it and the problem kept happening. This caused a flood in our house and the water went down to the 2nd floor causing much damage two times. We had another guy put a trey to stop the leaking. The owner called me before the work was even done wanting to know if I am going to be at the house when they are there fixing it so he can get paid! They then came out again and said they fixed it and the same thing happened again and they blamed the guy for what happened that helped us when the place flooded. They sent another crew out to fix it again and 1 guy seemed to know what he was doing but the other just tagged along. He said he fixed it and so far that problem is holding up. So I go out of town for 10 days and come back and the thermostat is turned off yet the A/C was running at 50 degrees. The guy that blamed our other helper during our flood then blamed the thermostat problem on someone rigging it. I explained to him that no one has been in the house or worked on the A/C since they were here 2 weeks ago. He then said that it must of been a ghost in the house. This was our upstairs unit. The downstairs was working fine but he checked it, it is no longer working now. I called their office and told them that I no longer wanted the guy in our house that keeps blaming others, and even a ghost for problems they have created. We kept using them only because we bought the unit from them but what we have paid in repairs and damage and A/C bills to our house, we probably could have bought a new one from someone else. They did not fix the last problem because they said that they had to order a part and have not heard back, which is fine as I am going to use a company that I found on Angie's list that has good ratings. Probably what we should have done in the first place. They also never have records of our paper work on file when we have asked them to look things up. The technician was at our house when I called their office to complain about the guy at our house and she had no idea who he was or recollection that we had a service order placed. I would stay clear of this business. We cringe at the amount of money we have wasted with them and the fact that they keep charging us for an A/C that never worked in the first place and the A/C bills that we have had to cover from the unit not working plus all the damage that we had to pay from the flooding caused by the A/C.
Description of Work: We bought an a/c from this company 2 years ago and it has never worked properly. We have spent hundreds of dollars with them trying to get it fixed and they still charge us even though they never fix it and sold us a bad A/C.

Our AC unit in our retail store broke down. After calling Subzero they promised to send someone out the same day, before 5. Nobody showed. The next morning a call to the office and we were told that the technician should have been out to our place the day before, they would call us back to let us know. Later in the day a technician showed up, his diagnose was to replace the indoor part of the unit, which later turned out to be the right diagnose. We could not get a price from him, not even an estimate. We would be getting a call from the office within 24 hours. To our surprise we did not get a call or email the next day or the day after, or the day after. We were in a hurry to get the AC going again and went with another company, who came, made an estimate and installed it the next day! Perhaps this is not the right place to name them, I'll let Angie's list be the judge of that but Curriy Refrigeration and air conditioning did a great job, priced as promised and within a day. We never even heard back from SubZero.

Talked to Todd on Tuesday and it was installed on the following Monday. On the date promised and done by two very nice men, that cleaned up after and ensured we knew how to work the unit.
Description of Work: replaced central AC unit.

They kept coming back and saying that we needed new parts and different things were wrong. They did excessive work and charged excessively. It came to the point where we had to tell them no more. They came out two guys. One was the technician and one was the apprentice and they charged for both at the same rate.
Description of Work: Our a/c unit was making a lot of noise and we called them see why it was making that noise.

I was very happy that they sent a service person on the first day back to work after a Holiday weekend at 8:30 am. I only missed a few hours of work that day. It was disappointing that the same parts had to be replaced this year as were fixed last year with another $200 charge. The service man noticed that the ceiling grate needed to be repaired. He pointed the grate out to me, but didn't fix it or make an appointment to fix it which was a disappointment. It would have been nice if he said that he would stop by the next time that he was in my neighborhood. The same thing happened last year when the a/c guy noticed the grate needed to be repaired. I had planned to call the company to schedule the repair or replacement of the grate, but I who wants to spend ANOTHER $120 (plus parts and labor) on a home visit unless something else is wrong on the same day? I wish I would have remembered the grate when I made this appointment. The grate is an unusal size. Last year and this year I mentioned to the service person that I would like to have a new hole cut that is a standard size so that I can buy a/c filters at Home Depot or at the grocery store. I can't buy the filters to fit my a/c ANYWHERE (frustrating!). I've spent hours on line searching for the filters and can't find them. I have to special order the filters through this company (who installed the system and cut the hole). Or, I have to get the kind of filter that you cut to fit the openning which takes time and extra effort.
Description of Work: My a/c stopping working Memorial Day weekend. It was so hot that my family had trouble sleeping all weekend. I left a voice message on the weekend. On Monday morning at 8:30 am the service person called and was on the way. My a/c was fixed in about 30 minutes. My heat had also stopped working earlier, but it is only cold here a few days a year so I forgot about the heat when the weather warmed up. The heat and a/c were fixed on the same day. I was disappointed was that the same part that was replaced a year ago in the heater and the same part in the a/c had to be replaced AGAIN. The part in the a/c that was replaced looks like an aerosol can. It's the 3rd time that part has been replaced since the company put in the brand new system 5 years ago. Although the system shut down throughout the entire first year after it was installed new the company graciously sent a repairman to my home 12 to 15 times and did not charge extra. When the a/c was finally fixed it was 3 years before I had to call the company again.
