THE BUSHEL STOP

Potting soil sold to me consisted of pulverized scrap wood, wood pulp and crushed styrofoam. No soil at all was found in the product. I sent a workman to procure a half bucket of potting soil for me. He returned with a Bushel Stop receipt clearly marked "Potting Soil". The product contained no soil or any organic plant matter except wood pulp, and chipped scrap lumber. Something had been added to the wood pulp to make it appear brownish in color. Crushed styrofoam was added to give the appearance of bone meal. The product was clearly intended to pass for potting soil, but was actually processed trash. This was clearly an abusive and deceptive business practice, and all landscaping customers should be aware of the hazards of purchasing products from such an establishment. The "product" only cost $25, so live an learn there for me! But I was also out the money I paid a laborer to deliver it, and then the money I paid to have it taken to a landfill. I do not want to deal with any business owner who would dare pass off trash as any kind of product, so I'm not interested in restitution from this business. I want them to either be hurt by lost business, and so be forced to change practices, or go out of business completely so that other consumers are not hurt by this business. I simply want other customers to be able to find this complaint on line and know not to do business with such an establishment.

We just brought them up for some plans. But, it was not very much of cleaning or doing landscaping with them. Overall experience, I will give them probably a B. The quality was fine. My wife reminded me that they were a nice selection of plans. They were knowledgeable about what we asked them.

The Bushel Stop is excellent and fabulous. They’re reputable, pricing is good, deliver when they say they would and we never had any problems with them. They have wonderful plant specimens. They give you contractor names if you need somebody to plant stuffs and deliver it on time. They don’t ruin anything. The people there are very nice, knowledgeable and helpful.

They have great customer service and they are very clean and have some great ideas and recommendations. They have really good displays.

They have a wide variety of plants, stone, and walkway material. The quality of their plants and matierials were above average as well.

They're fine, they have a good range of products. They are a bit pricey I think.

I went in to purchase a pallet of sod and after getting the price and while the salesperson was preparing the bill, he then mentioned that there is a $6 deposit on the pallet. So having no choice I agreed to the deposit. When I returned the pallet I was then informed that I had to take a store credit. I requested that they just credit the deposit to my card but they refused. I did not need anything else from them and felt that since this was supposed to be a deposit, that I should have been able to get the credit. After my first bad experience with this place I said I would not come back. Well a year later I figured I would give them another chance?what a mistake. They are very deceptive in their dealings with the public. I DO NOT recommend this place.

The issue is that the sod in question was VERY old, breaking into pieces, had mold, & was actually decomposing in the middle of the pallets. I picked up the pallets in my own truck & looked at them as the forklift was carrying them. They looked pretty green on the top & sides. I later figured out that my mistake was in not recognizing that the long green grass on the sides was an indicator of how old the sod was, new sod is cut close & won't stick out, lesson learned! Once I started trying to place the sod, I called to complain. The woman said you can't return it, that is just how Bahia is, it breaks up. I told her that I know that it can break up some, but this is in many pieces, dying and it is very brown. She stated to just water it and it would come back. I understand that if you water it for a month it will come back, but why am I paying for something as BAD as this, that I will have to nurture back to health? What about the cost of water & can you say water restrictions?
