It went very well. Although the situation itself is quite distressing the team helped us by answering questions, working quickly, carefully, and by removing the debris daily. The post mold air sample test showed they had done the job of removing mold successfully. They worked very hard every day until the job was done and treated our personal belongings with care as they cleaned, moved or removed them. Their team was pleasant to be around and trustworthy to be in our home when we were not. I would recommend them highly.
Description of Work: Our shower leaked and the water seeped up the drywalls behind it causing mold growth that spread into other surrounding areas. They had to demolish the master bath as they followed where the mold had crept and then treated for mold. The attached closet and bedroom ceiling had to be treated as well. It was a huge job lasting more than a week, requiring all the contents of the master closet to be removed by their team. In a timely way they helped us work through what the insurance company needed from us and documented the work being done with many photos.

I really didn't know anything about the remediation of mold, but Lamar gave me a step by step protocol as what needed to be done, what to expect, a timeline and worked 100% with my insurance company. He was always available to answer all of my questions and concerns. Lamar and crew were able to do most of the remediation work except for the roof, so he got quotes from quality roofers for me. I was very pleased with my working experience with Ecostrike and would highly recommend them. e and

No one should ever have to live through water damage and subsequent mold formation inside their home - but if the need ever arose, we would recommend the services provided by EcoStrike in a heartbeat. We can't say enough about the attentiveness, professionalism, concern and patience demonstrated by Lamar Moore and his team. At each step of the process, Lamar was always there to calmly guide us through this unexpected and stressful ordeal, ultimately to a successful outcome.

This was the worst experience I have ever had with a company and the first time I have ever felt the need to write a negative review. I can't go into all the details I would like to for certain reasons but I will try to say some things that I have learned from dealing with company for close to six months. Some of these things happened to me and others were just lessons I have learned from working with this Ecostike for so long. For starters get a quote! If they don't give a quote in writing tell them to leave your house. I did not get one, because they seemed nice but wow I wish I did. They charged me $9,400 to remove one row of moldy cabinets and set up a machine. $9,400 for maybe the 6 hours their two guys spent at my house. Get a quote if any company doesn't give you one they are looking to take advantage of you. Secondly do not sign the AOB. I was given a form by the owner to sign that unfortunately I made the mistake of not reading in detail. Read the form and take my advise and do not sign it. Basically this gives Ecostike the right to ANY money YOU should receive from insurance. They proved to me that they will do whatever they can to stay in complete control of your money and make sure they give you the minimum and make their wallets fat if you happen to file a claim. The form gives them the right to sue the insurance company if your claim gets denied and even though they sue you have to pay their lawyer fees and could have to pay the insurance company lawyer fees as well if Ecostirke losses. Third, get a public adjustor. I was convinced to not get one by the owner and he told me how much he would take care of me. Well he didn't take care of me, he took advantage of me. An adjustor works to get YOU the most money, Ecostrike works to get themselves the most money. Yes an adjustor gets a cut but they work to get you the most so their profit increases as well, but you stay in control. Fourth, do not trust this companies assurance that a claim will be approved. They want to get you to sign the AOB, so they can charge you and take control. Even if the claim doesn't get approved you owe them every penny. Possibly $9400 for a couple hours of work. Fifth, the work they preformed was not good. They left several items, including a brand new dishwasher that were all to be saved out in the rain unprotected. They did not haul away the debris, I had to take out all my cabinets to the street that they just threw in the yard. They were full of false promises that they never delivered on and then were very demeaning when I would mention that fact. Sixth, take a deep breath and a step back from whatever situation has caused you to read this. I panicked and called the first company I found. Looking back I should have just wrapped and sealed the area effected and explored all of my options. I put my trust in this company and they took full advantage of my trust and my situation. Finally, if you like being treated like a human being and don't like rude, aggressive and manipulative actions stay as far away from Ecostike as possible. I feel horrible after working with this company. I feel used, controlled and 100% disrespected as person. I am not writing this review out of anger, but truly to try to help someone else not feel the way that I do from this company. I hope your experience with whatever company you choose is significantly better than mine.

Response from EcoStrike
[Member Name Removed], You are obviously dissatisfied and as a business owner of course I am concerned and disappointed. I have read your comments and would like to respond for clarity sake. To expect that we would know the total cost of your water mitigation prior to the start of the project is a little unrealistic. The final price is based on the number of pieces of equipment that is installed and the labor associated with the structural drying over the actual time it takes for adequate drying to take place. I was clear that the cost associated with the structural dry out was going to exceed your deductible amount. To be clear, the amount you mentioned in your review of $9,400 includes a 4-day dry out of $3,020.12 and mold remediation of the kitchen of $6,440.71. The mold remediation was necessary because of the amount of time the leak had been neglected. When you made the call to EcoStrike for the water occurrence at your house I personally arrived in less than 1 hour to evaluate the situation. Yes, I asked you to sign our Assignment of Benefits Form because we don't work on any project without some sort of formal agreement. I did explain that the form allowed me to work directly with your insurance carrier for funding on the project. The alternative to the AOB would be for you to pay directly out of pocket and then you deal with your insurance carrier directly on the claim. You did not want to pay directly and like most of our clients, you chose to execute the AOB Your comment about being convinced not to use a public adjuster is just not true. I explained that public adjusters charged a percentage of the payout from the insurance carrier but the decision to use a public adjuster or not was yours to make. Your insurance carrier did deny the claim initially but I never once asked you for payment. I did encourage you to pursue the carrier for payment through an Attorney because in my opinion, you did have a legitimate claim. In the end the carrier conceded that to be the case. We have patiently waited since completing the project in March for resolution and payment. We have carried the expense of our labor, materials, equipment, and overhead costs since March but never once called you for payment. You said that we over charged for the work we performed which is not true. We have to prepare our invoices based on insurance industry standard rates. The insurance company has a field adjuster that approves the costs, then a desk adjuster, then pier review if necessary. All 3 reviewed our invoices and approved them for payment in full. The work EcoStrike performed was very good. We were able to perform the structural dry out in 4 days and the mold remediation inside of a week. Your comment that we spent maybe 6 hours is not true. I personally hauled the trash from your backyard and put your dishwasher in your garage. It was done on the Saturday following completion of the remediation and if anything was left it was for the benefit of being viewed by the insurance adjuster. I have no idea how you came to the conclusion that we were rude, aggressive and manipulative but that is not our mode of operation. We have performed thousands of projects and I'm sure you would not find one customer that would substantiate that accusation. [Member Name Removed]this has been a long drawn out process and I am sure you would like to put it behind you. I would, but not at the cost of leaving you with a grudge against EcoStrike. I can't control your emotions but feel the need to express my side of the story so that others would have an opportunity to draw their conclusion based on all the facts. Lamar Moore President

I am so incredibly thankful for the honesty, integrity, timeliness and personal attention to detail that Lamar and his team provided to our family. We were upset and anxious about the damage to our home and the health of our family. We wanted to quickly proceed with our remediation. Lamar was gracious enough to re-arrange his schedule with the consent of his other clients to move forward immediately with our remediation. He was a valuable resource for us to explain the industry standards for care and was able to help give us a detailed overview of what to expect. There were no surprises and his team conducted the work with care and precision. The team communicated well, was respectful and thoroughly cleaned and removed all debris. We were confident in the work performed. We are extremely grateful for Lamar and his team at EcoStrike for their professionalism and overall care of our family. We highly recommend EcoStrike!

Lamar, owner of Ecostrike, was called in because we had severe mold related air quality issues in our house and another company had been unable to find the root cause. In short order, Lamar and his entire crew rolled up their sleeves and made our "problem" theirs. Ecostrike not only provided top quality and honest service, Lamar was also helpful in finding reliable and honest sub-contractors who performed services that he does not provide. It's important to note that not only did Lamar and his crew do an excellent job, but they performed it at a fair and reasonable price. We are now dealing with insurers, and although Ecostrike has completed its work and been paid, Lamar continues to assist us at every turn. I can not say enough good things about his "service after the sale". I'm sure a lot of companies can do a good job regarding mold remediation, but I cannot imagine that there is another one in South Florida that provides the "service after the sale" that Lamar and Ecostrike willingly and gladly provide. Bottom-line: Honest, reputable and dependable service provided at a fair price, and service after the sale that's from a bygone era.
Description of Work: Lamar Moore, owner of Ecostrike, and his crew provided expert mold remediation throughout the entire estate that I manage. They cleaned and sanitized everything imaginable, including hard to reach nooks and crannies, and all the while they were working around extremely valuable and delicate works of art and antiques. They performed a herculean task, and did it to exacting standards that exceeded expectations, and did it on schedule.

My experience with Lamar could not have been better. He is extremely professional and responsive. He actually answered the telephone when I first called. He showed up for the appointment at my house when he said he would. He asked me about the situation, I explained, he listened. He explained the process and what to expect. He was upfront and honest and clearly new his stuff. I was most impressed with Lamar and would recommend him to anyone who needs this type of service.

I have been experiencing an odor situation in my house, intermittently, for several years. This odor occurs once sometimes twice a year and lasts for approximately a week. It is not a foul odor but more along the lines of something 'off gassing'. Approximately 2 weeks ago on a Friday night I began to notice the odor again. I searched for 'indoor air quality' contractors in my area and Ecostrike's name appeared along with several others. Their reviews were all positive so I decided to give them a call at approximately 8:00 on a Friday night - not expecting anything more than an opportunity to leave a voice mail requesting a call back from them on the following Monday. Much to my surprise my call was answered by the owner of the company, Lamar Moore. I explained the situation to him and he immediately offered to come to my house the next day, Saturday morning at 10:30. Lamar was true to his word and was their right on time. I explained the situation in more detail to him and answered his questions as well. Based on the information I had provided along with his walk thru inspection of my house, Lamar provided me with his professional opinion of what he felt the issue was/is and what he felt the remedy should be. Being a constructional professional myself, it was obvious to me that Lamar was 100% correct. More importantly, Lamar was very forthright in telling me the remedy for the situation was not something they typically do as a company but he would be glad to provide contact information for companies he was comfortable in recommending. When I thanked Lamar for his time and asked him for an invoice so I could pay him for his time - Lamar refused to invoice me . He stated that he could tell during our phone conversation the evening before that I was pretty frustrated and he just wanted to come up and try to help me figure it out and there was no charge for that! I have to tell you, that for me, integrity is everything and it is evident to me that Lamar Moore the owner of Ecostrike in Jupiter Florida is all about integrity and professionalism. I have no problem in highly recommending this company or using them myself in the future.

With all big projects there are problems, mistakes and accidents. Its how a company handles those problems that puts them ahead of the pack. First problem was they failed the mold test which was done by a separate company called The Mold Detective. After they cleaned everything again they passed. Then I saw they were going to install a different kind of insulation. They were going to replace my R-11 with a R- 5 or 6. I'm glad I caught that mistake, they did replace with a R-13. They did a good job on the drywall replacement. The bathroom was a different matter, they did a bad job putting in the Dura Rock. The tile man we hired said he wouldn't be able to do the job because of the Dura Rock. He said it would cost us $300 for him to do the Dura Rock right. And to make matters worse one of Ecostrike workers must have dropped a piece of Dura Rock on the brand new tub we bought and put a crack on the tub. I told this to Lamar of Ecostrike and he took down the Dura Rock, took $300 off the bill, paid for a new tub and the plumbing installation. Lamar at Ecostrike did the right thing and that's why I would hire them again in the future. I would have the Dura Rock put up by the same person who is going to tile the bathroom so you know it will be done right. Lamar was a pleasure to work with even through some problems. I'm very happy at the out come, we were going to remodel the guest bath anyway.
Description of Work: We had mold that ran from a leaky window in the Master bedroom in both directions. In one direction it went past a wall into the guest bathroom. In the other direction it ran and took a corner into another wall, a total of about 20'. They had to rip out all dry wall in both rooms, clean the air with air scrubbers or filters, pass a mold test, then put all new insulation and dry wall back. In the bathroom they had to take out bathtub and replace green board with dura rock. There was also some mold in dining room from a leaky window. This would have been another $1000 deductible with ins. so we just didn't file that claim. The owner, Lamar knew we weren't going to use the ins. so he gave us a price of about $700 to fix the mold problem which was about 3x cheaper than our most expensive estimate from another company.

The company failed to patch and caulk the intercom system that was exposed to water. When THERE WAS FINALLY A HARD DIRECTLY RAIN in May there was "still a leak." The leak would always appear in late spring. When we called the Lamar Moore of Ecostrike, he said there will be a charge for his coming down. I advised him that this is warrenteed and he failed to to do the work. He finally said he would come the following day. He failed to come and never picked up future phone calls. Therefore, we had to caulk it ourselves. At this point, we demand full refund as our caulking ended the leak.

I am extremely disappointed that [member name removed] feels that EcoStrike has not met our obligation on his project. It is our goal to complete all of our projects on time and to provide the highest quality of workmanship and customer service. [member name removed] and I connected on October 1, 2013, which is when we had our initial conversation over the phone about his project. We set a meeting that same week and he and I met and I was able to review a report that he provided that was prepared by a local engineering firm that had made an inspection of his home in August 2013. He also provided me with a copy of a mold assessment report prepared July 5, 2013 by a local home inspection company. After reviewing both reports, he and I agreed to a specific scope of work that would be performed by EcoStrike to resolve issues listed in the engineer's report and the home inspector's report. This scope included but was not limited to stopping the water leaks in the home and performing mold remediation as a result of elevated mold spore counts in the home per his inspector's report and test results. The engineer's report stated that a water test performed by their firm confirmed that water was leaking into the stairway from around an exterior door to the 4th floor terrace and had "caused the apparent damages". EcoStrike wanted to perform a more extensive water test on the balcony because we believed that there were additional areas where water was entering the home. We did perform the water test and we did confirm that water was entering the home through not only the exterior door but also through voids in the stucco, exterior electrical outlets, and the roof flashing. [member name removed] was present during the water tests performed by EcoStrike and was shown specifically where the water was entering the home. Over the next week EcoStrike applied a Vulkem 116 High Performance Urethane Sealant to all the areas that were leaking during the water test and then applied a Loxon A24-1100 primer to the exterior walls and structure on the 4th floor. We also applied two coats of A89-1100 Series Exterior Latex by Sherwin Williams. A final water test was then performed, with [member name removed] present, and the results indicated that all leaks had been repaired and their was no water intrusion into the home. At this point EcoStrike and [member name removed] were satisfied that the problem had been fixed. On November 5th, 2013 I provided [member name removed] with a letter detailing all of the scope of the work that we had performed and also outlined the additional work that we planned to perform which included mold remediation and the associated build back. [member name removed] stated that he did not want to proceed with any additional work until he resolved his issues with the developer/builder of his home over what he considered inferior construction quality issues. I called [member name removed] at least one time each month since November 5th, 2013 to inquire about EcoStrike performing the mold remediation at his residence. In none of these calls did [member name removed] state that he had any issues with water leaks into the home or that he had issues with any of the work that EcoStrike had performed in October 2013. Quite the opposite in that [member name removed] has always been very polite and encouraged me to stay in touch and that some point we would be doing the mold remediation at his residence. [member name removed] did call me on May 28th, 2014 and insisted that we did not caulk a speaker box that is approximately an 8" x 8" square on the 4th floor balcony and that we did not provide quality work. My response was that I believed we caulked all the penetrations on the 4th floor terrace, or he would have had water leaking into his house at some point in the past 7 months since we had made the repairs. The water test that we performed after the work was completed, the monthly phone calls to [member name removed] to "check in", and our long-standing commitment to quality and customer service should indicate that EcoStrike has no malicious intentions toward [member name removed]. We performed a substantial amount of work successfully and charged a fair wage for the scope performed. I don't feel as though [member name removed] request for a full refund is reasonable. In closing, it is my desire that all of our customers are happy with the quality of our performance and services. I would be happy to speak to [member name removed] further about his issue.

I called Mr. Moore late on a Friday evening after discovering mold in a first floor closet. I never expected for him to pick up, but was hoping to leave a message to get on their list for the next business day. Lamar answered the phone- after 9 pm on a Friday night- and was at our home early the next morning. After sealing off the affected areas, he returned later in the week with his team to remove the drywall and install the scrubbing machines. These things were huge, but they must have done the job. An independent company came out the next week to test for presence of mold and every room came back negative. Great company, very responsive. We made a claim for this issue on our homeowners insurance and Lamar was very helpful in providing all of the information to the adjuster and the insurance company.
Description of Work: Removed large patch of mold in wall in our home, treated the area with advanced technology and arranged testing for evidence of full removal.

Lamar is a very courteous, professional man, honest and very knowledgeable. We had a slight mold problem and Lamar and his team removed it thoroughly, installed the scrubber and the ventilator to clean the air in the house and what's very important, put us at ease about the mold in our house. He also cleaned all the dirty registers chancing them out and spraying for potential mold. EcoStrike is a mold mediation and removal company--they are neither plumbers nor carpenters--they could not address our upper bathroom leak problem, so we had to call the plumber, but what they do--MOLD--they did it very well. The only quibble I have is the pricing. They have a $1800.00 minimum, no matter how small the job, which affected us, because our mold spot was really small and localized. But if you have a big mold problem, then the minimum does not matter.

Response from EcoStrike
Thank you for your review. I'm glad you were happy with our work. We actually don't have a minimum - we price the job based on the scope of the work required. And we have a great network of contractors that we work with if other types of work are needed. Thanks again and please call anytime if we can help you.

Great! Very honest and professional. I anticipated a mold problem and after his inspection it was determined there was no mold. I could not be more pleased.

Lamar and the entire EcoStrike crew were amazing! I was very concerned after seeing mold in my townhouse but after meeting with Lamar I felt very much at ease. My neighbor had used EcoStrike and was happy to recommend them to me for my problem. Lamar was personally very informative but was able to provide me with a complete report that explained about mold and its effects. Lamar did what he said he was going to do and kept me informed every step of the way. I would recommend EcoStrike to anyone that has mold issues,

Lamar did a great job from start to finish. He was able to respond within a couple of hours of my call and he showed up prepared. His employees were courteous and also very helpful. After finding the problem he immediately explained what the process was going to be in Order to make the repairs. He provided a written estimate that included a detailed description of what he was going to do. I have had horrible experiences in the past in hiring subs but this was not the case with Ecostrike. They were awesome!
