Woodsman Kitchens and Floors

Description of Work: I called to ask if someone could come bid on my kitchen renovation. The lady I spoke with informed me that I would first have to come in to their showroom. They didn't "make house calls" for initial visits. But if I could bring in a bunch of pictures of my kitchen, as well as ideas of what I want, THEN they would show me what they have. Ok. I said I would do this. I said I would be there first thing the next morning, and she said she wasn't sure who would be available. Maybe I could come in at a different time? What is the point of having hours of operation if you aren't available? I didn't bother showing up. I'm calling contractors that actually COME TO MY HOUSE. If I'm going to spend $50,000, please TRY TO ACT LIKE YOU CARE.

Description of Work: Visited Woodsman because of a buildier with whom we are working. Took a while to get a quote and not really happy with the pricing nor the selection available. The second person I worked with was great, but we ended up going to a different supplier who offered a higher quality cabinet at a lower and more reasonable price.

Description of Work: Asked for home visit and estimate of work. We were still learning about all of the combinations, possibilities, costs associated with remodeling a kitchen. Lots of terms that were used interchangeable and exclusively by contractors. There seemed to be good ideas for not only resurfacing the cabinets with a new countertop, but rearranging the cabinets themselves, relocating appliances etc. All of these things started to drive the price up exponentially. When we limited what we were trying to do, the estimator / salesperson offered counterpoints to our points and the process went on. Timeliness with the estimates was not forthcoming and we had to call a couple of times to get the estimate emailed to us. I don't know if they were busy, or if other projects took their time away but we were actively seeking and engaging other companies for the same work and we were receiving estimate information from them in a very timely manner. We've elected not to go with Woodsman based on:1 - Price was about 25% higher than other companies for comparable services. 2. If we can't get an estimate, what's the 'after the installation' work for any warranty work that needs to be done going to be like? 3. We had a friend that had this company do work for them and there was an incorrectly designed / installed / whatever issue with one of the cabinets. Woodsman flatly said "Not our fault, we're not fixing it" and the General Contractor denied involvement and said "Contact Woodsman" .... we didn't want to be placed in that situation. To be fair, the job for our friend was huge (over $60,000 for a kitchen remodeling) but for that kind of money, you need to simply fix the cabinet and get on with business. Woodsman lost our business on the price somewhat but we were just very unsure about service after the sale and elected to go elsewhere.

Description of Work: They did remodeling work in our 10 x 10 kitchen. The tile was already down. We had them install Cambria countertops as well as Aristokraft cabinetry. All of the electrical and plumbing was already done as well.

Description of Work: Woodsman Kitchens & Floors installed Aristokraft maple cabinets with cherry finish in my 16 x 24 kitchen and my two full bathrooms. They also installed all the countertops in the house.
