Do not under any circumstances use this moving company. They held my belongings for 22 days and did not deliver them in the same condition that they picked them up in. Items were not packaged as paid for *tv's in cartons* and special packing of grandfather clock and curio. One of the movers spent more time on his cellphone than he did carrying my items downstairs. The cost for this move was based on weight however they did not use a semi so it never was weighed. Items were picked up in a Uhaul truck and dropped off in a Penske truck after an $800 cash was requested. The contract was pulled from the website immediately after signing however I was smart enough to make a copy. The link to report claims takes you to google search and not their insurance company. Several items were damaged when they were finally received on day 22. Contract says have up to 21 days. Better business bureau was contacted and they tried to get the business to take responsibility however the company did not do so and the Better Business Bureau has now revoked their rating. I have sent repeated emails to the company asking for 1/2 my money back and they have not responded. They have now started using the name Unitedmove services, United Relocation Services etc. DO NOT USE THEM!!!

TERRIBLE! Crew showed up TWO AND 3/4 DAYS late! They were supposed to arrive “bright and early” on the morning of the first day (Thursday). At noon I called the company and asked where they were. I was told the contracted dates were "only a window" and they weren't obligated to meet those timelines. No it's called a "contract" for a reason! I was assured by Claudia (at HQ) that I would be packed out and loaded by the end of the second day. She actually laughed at me and told me to “calm down”, they’d get it all done by the night of the second day. At 10:00 am on the second day (Friday) I called again and asked where the crew was. She told me they were "on the way". At noon the driver called me and said they were still in GEORGIA finishing another job and they couldn’t get to me until Saturday! I called Claudia at corporate HQ and asked what was going on….why was MY moving crew in Georgia and not in Virginia where I lived? She then got angry because the driver had called me to tell me truth...that they weren't "on the way". She said I was welcome to cancel my contract and forfeit my $1800 deposit! At this point, we were panicked, since we had to be out of our house the next day (Saturday)! We rented a moving truck and packed and loaded as much of our stuff as we could to make sure we could take at least some of it with us! I left to start the 900-mile drive early on Saturday afternoon, leaving my adult son to supervise the pack-out. We had contracted for a "full pack out" and the crew showed up (again – 2 and 3/4 days LATE) without any packing materials AT ALL. They were sub-contractors (nice enough folks) who were told to pick up an already packed-up home. That lie from "corporate" to them cost us an additional $1600 for them to pack us - and several thousand in additional fees and penalties from our landlord, cleaning crew, repair contractors, etc for late move-out and rescheduled services. Then if you can believe it, the truck they brought was too small (why would you think you could pack a 4-bedroom house in a 26-foot truck?? I told the scheduler at the time I signed the contract that a 26-foot truck wasn’t big enough! We’d moved several times over the years and I know we’ve never used such a small truck! He assured me they were pros and knew their business and if it took a second truck, that would be “on them” and I wouldn’t incur additional costs for their mistake). United HQ told the subs to only pack one truck of our belongings and to just leave the rest behind! WHAT?!?! We contracted for a 4-bedroom home with nearly 15K pounds of property, including 2 queen-sized beds, 3 twin beds, 2 couches, 2 loveseats, a huge entertainment center, a buffet, a large dining room hutch, books, clothes, kitchen, linens, etc....what kind of an "experienced" moving company thinks a single 26-foot truck can handle that? Idiots. And liars. And thieves. They didn’t finish the pack-out until a FULL WEEK after they were supposed to start the 2-day process! Then they claimed that the “main truck” had broken down and tried to hold my property ransom for an additional $5500 OVER the contract price.....and we'd ALREADY paid out an additional $3K for the second truck and the moving truck we'd had to rent for ourselves when they didn't show up on the two days they were supposed to pack and load us! They parked the second truck of our things over 2 1/2 hours away and said it was "broken" and couldn't be fixed and delivered until we paid their additional costs. Oh…and did I forget to mention that they conned my son into giving them a $300 check and $500 in cash to pay for “uncontracted packing materials”? Yes…..yes, they did. If I had not had recorded conversations of the lies, promises and "assurances" made by the individual who negotiated the contract, we would have been out even MORE money! DO NOT USE THIS COMPANY! I am reporting them to the BBB and the Florida, Virginia and Tennessee State Attorney Generals' offices for investigation into fraudulent business practices. In my opinion, their "business model" is a criminal enterprise! To add insult to injury, they do not provide receipts for ANYTHING! Good luck filing the move on your taxes with no receipts. LIARS and CROOKS!
