Description of Work: Memorandum To: Solar By JenCo From : John Date : September 20, 2017 Subject : Warranty repairs performed by JenCo was defective and caused damage to the home ------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------ I have reached out to you and informed you of the faulty installation of the warranty solar panels by your company . You stated you had emailed me your finding . I have not received them at this time after numerous request for your report . Please email your findings at JHH32005@hotmail.com Facts Three months ago the referenced home had a new roof installed at a costs of $15.500.00 During the repair the old solar panels, made by FAFCO were removed and re installed by Mr. Mike S a former employee of the initial company that sold and installed the FAFCO name solar panels on the referenced home . Mr. S noticed the original panels had leaks in the panels and was aware they still had a warranty on them. After contacting the home office of FAFCO and discussing this warranty matter with Mr. Phil DelNegro Vice President of Sales and Marketing at FAFCO,Inc . (619-861-8145) Mr. DelNegro directed me to your company Solar by JenCo as the new company that has the franchise for this area representing FAFCO . Solar by JenCo warranted the panels on or around August 4, 2017 and the panels had a remaining 3 year warranty on them In our discussions with Mr. DelNegro we wanted to install the panels ourselves because Mr. S had more than 18 years experience verses the 6 months experience by your technician. I believe he is also a relative of yours working for JenCo. We had our apprehensions of his abilities and experience when he initially came out to inspect the roof and panels and learned that your company was new to this industry ( less than six months ) We expressed those concerns to all parties. Our concerns were expressed to you and Mr. DelNegro and both parties assured me your technician was capable and competent and you would stand behind his work and we would have a remaining warranty on the panels of three years. You installed the panels and Hurricane Elma came thru 4 weeks later. The panels blew off the roof to the side of the house and did significant damage to the roof of the house and the hot water panels . The new roof is now leaking and the hot water panel were broken from the panels flapping during the winds. The screw fasteners into the roof all held. The joints and connections of 8 panels held at the flanges / connections . The straps came loose from the fasteners and allowed the middle panels to come off the roof causing the damage to the roof and water heater panels . New straps should have been installed during the installations by your company and they should have been folded on the ends . Due to these errors in the installation these damages have occurred to our home . I expect your company to warranty your installation immediately and repair all the damages caused. We are putting JenCo on notice any water damage to the home will be your responsibility also due to your delay in responding to this matter . The previous solar panels were on the roof for 12 years and went thru six hurricanes without any issues. They were installed by Mr. Mike S twice . Just 10 months ago Hurricane Matthew came thru and was much fiercer than Elma and the panels withheld again because they were properly installed by Mr. Shaw . This installation was faulty installation ... plain and simple . You can do the right thing and step to the line and make the repairs immediately or we will take the necessary action to get it corrected and sue you in court . I have contacted COJ building department 630-1100 and 11 Alive news Ken Amaro of 11 Alive News to do a story about this. They are coming out next week . I have also contacted my attorney to sue you if this is not taken care of immediately .

Of the two different times we had JenCo do service for us, they did the job right the first time and didn't have to worry about them not doing what we asked them to do.
Description of Work: JenCo has done repair work on our solar pool heating roof piping system on two occasions and have been pleased with their work and quick service.

They sent a young gentleman named Randy. On the phone I told him that this was a long pipe. The first time he came he said "oh this is a long line and I don't have enough pipe." I told him that I had explained that to him on the phone. He then said he wants to change all 3 pipes because they are all old and told me he would charge me $500. He came back and repaired one line which was already in good shape because it was only 2 years old. He then cut the other two lines but because they were old and swollen, he said he could not repair them. He threw his tools and started acting mad. He then said he has to change all of my pipes and it would cost $1000. Initially I agreed but then he called me and said he wants to meet with me. He brought me quotes for photovoltaic panels for $13,000. I told him, that I only wanted my pipes fixed. He said he has to order different parts and he may run in to other problems..... As soon as he left I called him and cancelled everything. I told him I pay him for the pipes he brought and part that he fixed. Just to remained you what he fixed was not the pipe that was broken. Moreover, since he had cut all good pipes too, I am left now with repairing things that did not need repair in the first place in addition to the work that I had called him for. They have sent me a bill $407 because I asked them to leave the pipes that they had brought me. They have charged for a repair of a pipe that did not need repair. Moreover, the pipe that was broken plus other pipes that he cut need to be fixed. I am so sorry that I called this company.
Description of Work: I hired them to repair a single pipe on my existing solar panels. This line was a 20 feet pipe that was about 5 years old. It was leaking and it was repaired once before.

Mr Sharazi based on the pictures that Randy took of the pipe he replaced which needed replacing, and the fact that you needed a lot of pipe replaced, Randy replaced one 30' section, and your invoice was to reflect that, YOU asked to purchase the additional 70' of pipe, which we would have gladly picked up. AND Randy brought you 3 student quotes, under no obligation on your part, as alternative options. love how you post a negative review without talking to the owner and haven't paid your bill for work and materials.

Description of Work: We hired Jenco to remove our solar panel before the house was re-roofed, since our original solar provider was out of business. They were professional and efficient. After replacing it and servicing the water heater to which it was attached, they provided excellent service and ultimately replaced the water heater pump.

Very timely, very professional, very courteous and left my house and yard clean and neat every day. Were proactive in working with my roofer, without even being asked to.
Description of Work: Inspect and certify system function and performance prior to re-roofing the house, remove, replaced after re-roof and re-started system, again certifying function and performance with some technical enhancements to insure wind and weather protection.
