I think I used them a year ago to replace another air conditioner at my property. The cost for that one was about the same. [Overall] that was all A's too.
Description of Work: They did an install.

They give the whole system a thorough checkup inside and out. They let us know if there's anything that looks like needs to be repaired.

They were great. They were able to fix the unit and did not make us sign up for a maintenance plan, which was much appreciated.
Description of Work: They came out and worked on our AC unit when it was not getting cool enough.

Our overall experience with Scott Air has been less than professional and down right shoddy. We stayed with them because they did the original installation of our HVAC units. Do not use this company if you expect to be treated fairly. They make appointments that they do not keep with little concern for your schedule or business. Our new units are sub-standard and contrary to the advice we received from the Scott rep. regarding energy efficiency and quality of these units, they have been horrible. The noise is distracting and everyone who visits us comments on the 'noisy air conditioning'. The installation was a disaster, with damage to the access and pure incompetence on the part of the installation crew. With five follow-up visits to fix incorrect wiring, leaks in the soldering of the new unit and external problems with the units, we are convinced that this company in not one you would want to do business with. I have our receipts for all their visits and wish I had kept my yearly calendar books which documented the scheduled/canceled appointments. The only time Scott Air seemed to be concern and acted in expeditious manner was when their service/installation men waited after installing the new units with their hands our for payment. This company is quick to bill and wait for immediate payment, but has poor service response, with little concern for their customers and a sub-standard installation crew. Caveat emptor.
Description of Work: Scott Air installed our HVAC when our house was built 10 years ago. When ever I call for service of the units, I will get a date and time of service. Since both my husband and I work, I was the one who usually took time off to wait for the Scott air representative to arrive. Nine times our of ten, they would not show up, or the office manager, Vickie, would call on the same day to say they were delayed, would not be there, etc, which resulted in a loss of time from my job waiting on servicemen who never arrived. Last year our primary units malfunctioned. The rep from Scott Air arrived to check our the problem and ended up selling us new units. These units were installed a year ago this month (August). The units were installed incorrectly which resulted in at least five additional visits to fix the shoddy installation. The installers damaged the access to our 3rd floor, where our units were housed. I received a call in July (we were no at home) for a bi-annual servicing of these new units. When we returned from our trip, I called Scott to schedule the service. Vickie set up the service for Tuesday, July 27th, between 3:00 and 5:00 p.m. I once again took the time off of work to make sure I was here for the service call. No one showed up, and I have not received a call from Scott Air explaining why the service person did not show up or to reschedule.

The service was ok. The untold labor fee and the response I got from the company was unprofessional, poor, and rude.
Description of Work: I moved into my new house and needed air condition servicing. The company was apparently the original company that installed the air conditioning unit in 2005. I call them and was informed about $95 service/diagnostic fee. The repair person arrived at my house and did his inspection. He found a blown capacitor to the upstairs air conditioning unit. I asked the sales person while he was discovering the problem is there would be any additional cost to replace the item. He clearly stated since the unit was under five years old, it was "under warranty." He replaced the unit in less than 30 minutes. Upon presenting me with the final bill I was surprised to see an additional $98 for labor on the bill (on top of the $95 service call). I tried to understand why that was not taken off the service call or the additional labor charge discussed prior to job completion. I felt that "under warranty" meant that all parts and labor were to be included. However, since the service tech was in no position to explain the cost, and the part was already replaced, I paid the full amount of $193. I called the company about a week latter and spoke to their female receptionist explaining my frustration at the additional labor charge. She seemed to indicate that it is the responsibility of the service tech to explain all charges prior to job completion. She stated she would bring the owner's attention. Nearly 2 weeks passed and I finally called back on 7/24. I spoke to a gentleman, who was quite rude, dismissive, and condescending regarding the fee. I tried to explain that labor was not discussed as a part of the service with his tech. He bluntly stated he has a charge book for labor (which I cannot find listed anywhere for public record) that is used to calculate a labor fee. I contended that the conversation I had with his tech about warranty implied that the labor fee was included in the part cost. He even suggested that he would come back to my residence to remove the unit. I would only agree if ALL my $193 were refunded and I would consider the matter closed. He however stated my $95 service charge was not to be refunded, so I declined. He even implied that I was fabricating that I was not told about the labor fee prior to service completion. Ultimately he hung the phone up on me to my pure astonishment.
