Roto-Rooter Plumbing & Water Cleanup

Came on time, went right to work, finished and gone in one hour. even looked at broken washer, no charfe. everything excellant but price.

I was working at my kitchen sink when suddenly a tsunami hit. Water was flooding onto my feet and soaking my hardwood floors. Needless to say, I was out of my mind over it! I cleaned up the water, put a bucket and some towels under the sink, and thought I'd take a look and see if I could repair the problem. I turned the water on, again, and it was pouring so fast I was fresh out of ideas! I looked in the phonebook (God help me) desperate to find someone who would come out this minute, this day! All I could see was Roto-Rooter and I wasn't particularly thrilled about that, but I called. The woman who answered was very pleasant. I asked her if Roto-Rooter's plumbers were competent (there doesn't appear to be a competent worker in the whole state of FL!) and she assured me they were (really, would she say they were inept slugs?). I was told she'd have someone to me in about an hour. While I was waiting I looked on Angie's List to see what I had gotten myself into. I was not happy with many of the reports I read (I only look for perfection). The doorbell rang and Roto-Rooter arrived in the time frame specified. The plumber's name is Michael Adams and he is extremely professional, very well-mannered, and articulate. He looked under the sink, had me turn the water on, said, "it's coming from the hose." I turned the water off, he looked at my faucet, which is a faucet that pulls out because it's a sprayer and a faucet (junk!), and screwed the faucet part back onto the hose. He told me they very often come loose with use. I was embarrassed I was so stupid as to not have figured that out. I asked what the charge was and he said, "he couldn't charge me for something that insignificant that took no time." And, he gave me the name of a faucet company to purchase new faucets from since I hate the one I have and need a new bathroom faucet. Well, I could not have been more shocked! I expected some outrageous bill for doing very little. Mr. Adams is extremely competent and honest, two qualities not readily (or ever) found in FL. Whenever I need a plumber, I will make sure I contact Roto-Rooter and request only Michael Adams. Further, I will recommend him to any of my friends. Many of us are widows and we try to have services recommended rather than try to find them on our own. Someone else's experience, good or bad, allows you to make informed decisions. I'm thankful I lucked out on the Roto-Rooter decision because usually I get the worst of the worst!

It took the repairman about 10-15 minutes to unclog the drain. It's my fault, he quoted me $240 when he first came in the house, which caused me to choke, but said the web site had a $40 off coupon. He arrived in the time frame suggested, but after waiting for him to arrive, I didn't feel like starting over with a different company so told him to go ahead. The price was outrageous, especially since it took him so little time and effort.

They were very pleasant and it was very cost effective. I recommend them.

The job went well, from start to finish. We called lots of plumbers in the area, and and Roto-Rooter was the best. We were a bit concerned that they would be more expensive because they are corporate based, but their prices are competitive and inline with everyone else. Being corporate based, they have the necessary licenses and insurance. They also had good reviews in other websites. * The owner did a free estimate in person. He was polite, on time, and gave us the option of using his estimate, or we could pay the hourly rate. We chose the estimate. He took his time, answered our plumbing questions, and explained everything. We presented the Angie's List coupon after he calculated his estimate, and he accepted it with no problems. * The estimate was inline or a bit less than other plumbers, and much cheaper than some that tried to overcharge. * It was easy to schedule an appointment. * He sent 2 technicians, they were polite, worked steady, and did not complain. They were on time, and called first to see if they come come out a bit early. * Important - they cut the drywall with a multi-tool, and used a level, insuring a straight edge and right angles. This produces more dust, but it makes it easy to patch the drywall. Just be sure to cover everything up before they arrive. They would probably cut the drywall using a manual drywall saw and this is less dusty, but leaves a rough edge. You may want to let them know beforehand how you want your drywall cut? * It took longer to do the work and took more supplies, but they stayed true to their estimate. They did not try to price gouge, or charge more because it took longer, and used additional materials. * The billing was fine, and they followed up to make sure everything was ok. * The best part was that there was no whining from the owner or technicians.

Well they did the job and the sewer is now flowing. I was supposed to to be contacted by them with some input on how to prevent this from happening again and they never contacted me. I was disappointed by that but they did get the sewer open and flowing again. I had 2 other plumbers there and they just took my money and did not do the job as the sewer backed up againg after a few days.

When I first called Roto-Rooter at on August 28, I was told that I could expect the Roto-Rooter plumber to arrive by 10 PM. They called me at 8:30 PM and told me that they would not make it by 10 PM but promised to arrive by midnight. First promise broken by Roto-Rooter. Since I had an early morning appointment I told them to come on August 29. They promised someone would arrive between 8 AM and 10 AM on August 29. At 10 AM August 29, no one had arrived. Second promise broken. I called Roto-Rooter and they promised me that someone would arrive at 11 AM. At 11 AM there was still no one here. Third promise broken. I called Roto-Rooter and asked them for a worst case scenario. They basically could not promise when someone could get to my home. Someone finally arrived at 1:15 PM. One of my plumbing problems was a stopped up kitchen drain. I was told that it would cost me $340 to snake the kitchen vent from the roof and solve the problem. I was also told that the work would take 1 to 1.5 hours. I needed to get the problem resolved quickly so I did not choose to call someone else and maybe have to wait another day before it got fixed. The plumber first snaked the drain from the kitchen sink. That did not fix the problem. Then he snaked the vent from the roof. That did not fix the problem. He finally brought in a vacuum cleaner and sucked out the water from the kitchen sink. The vacuum apparently also sucked up the cause of the problem because the sink started draining. The work took exactly 1 hour. The cost was $340. Pretty good hourly rate. I did have a $40 Angie's List discount. Due to the cost of fixing the kitchen sink I did not have Roto-Rooter work on the other problem. I've used Roto-Rooter a few times in the past and they always arrived when they said they would. I won't be calling Roto-Rooter again.

He came out in the evening, but was less than cordial. He wanted to offer a drain cleaning package, which I refused. He fixed the problem and was responsive. I paid $245 after it was discounted $40. The second time they came out in the middle of the day and did a good job. He snaked a leak from the house to the sewer for a 2 hour job. I asked him the price of the job and he said $57. He gave me this gallon jug of pipe shield and really helped me out. I was really set back on the price of the job. He did a great job and the price was unbeatable. They definitely got my trust on this specific service call.

He was very polite, professional, positive, and made sure I had all the facts I needed, and questions answered. Overall very pleased with the experience, and nobody looks forward to calling a plumber:-) I would definitely use their services in the future and will!

Roto Rooter sent George G. out within 2 hours of calling them. He spent over an hour assessing the situation, checked all of our building's pipes to figure out where the blockage was then gave us a estimate of how much it would be for him to fix it. We first had to find a company to clean up the mess and sanitize the area before the blockage could be cleared. After that was done, we scheduled George to come back and he fixed the problem. Excellent service, Excellent price. Will use them in the future for any problems we have. Labor: $135 Parts: 26.73

The sewer backed up in our tub and shower when I ran the washing machine. Roto-Rooter said they could have someone here within a couple of hours and they were right on time. Roots from trees/bushes on someone else's property had stopped up the sewer. Price to clear was $240 less the $40 Angie's List coupon. The additional money was our decision to put in two clean-outs in case roots from the same trees/bushes again clog the sewer. Donnie did a great job.

They were great. They came in and told us the exact reason for why the problem was happening.

I think he price gouged me and he was awful. This guy just really overcharged me. I know plumbers are generally about $80 an hour and I had to go buy the part and it seemed like they didn't have the right tools. They had to put on hose a bit and it was leaking and needed to be replaced and it was a simple little thing to fix. He replaced a handle in the bathroom. I had to go buy the handle and he then he came back and put it on and charged me $200. He was going to leave me because he said to go to another job, but he decided to stay and help me. I had 2 different guys that came out and they just overcharged me. The handle in the bathroom that he replaced still leaks a little, but I don't want them to come back out. They came in within 2 hours of being called. They were not professional because they shisted and rooked me.

Plumber worked quick and fixed both issues within 45 minutes. These were simple issues but was still glad to see he worked quickly, which is not always the case when you pay by the hour. We've used them before and feel we get standard pricing with great service.

I always ask for a specific person and he works around my schedule. They are fine.
